R U a NASCAR Fan...Let's Talk!
I agree with all of you. Wouldn't it be nice to go back to the old days just for one race and see what would happen? I bet there would be a lot more pushing and punches thrown. Why do you think Britsol is one of the hottest tracks of the season? Missed the comments about Kurt's ears. Kevin is such a hoot. Martinsville sure will be interesting.....we'll see who still has hurt feelings.

Camping on the band....help!
This is good advice for busy moms too! You don't have to go camping to appreciate the advice given here. I'm preband and these are good things to keep handy for lunch. :biggrin1: Typical day with 2 boys.... Today my boys stacked their mattresses, 2 twins, on top of each other and were bouncing to see if they could hit the ceiling fan. Well, they did and came crying to mom. Kathy473 ~ Sounds like a blast....wished I could join you! The part of the shower in the hotel is a great idea. Jack ~ I love the thought of Gerbers. Who would have thought of that? BTW, I have read so many times how you eat Holy Shredded Wheat. How do you do it anyway? That sounded so good to me until I realized we're not supposed to drink with meals. Holy Shredded Wheat would be so dry. Please help me solve this mystery. ddiedre ~ Does the milk mixed with eggs help a person tolerate them? I love eggs and usually use milk anyway.

Sopranos
I love the Sopranos, but I'm wondering if they have a new writer. Did we wait 2 yrs for this? I can remember going to the hospital to give birth almost 4 yrs ago and worrying about what I was going to miss on. Now I'd rather watch The Shield or Boston Legal. I sure hope they pick up the pace soon b/c I miss the old Sopranos....bring them back!!

LEATHA'S latest NSV :)
Leatha ~ Super Duper NSV!! You brought tears to my eyes and you give me hope. There is no way I could do what you did....allergies aside. You are solid as a rock and I love to read your posts b/c you always take me where I need to go....to the Lord. Thank you for being here and being such an inspiration to a prebander!! I appreciate you!! :clap2:

Got the results of my Upper GI tests - Guess What?
Very interesting.....it's nice to hear about those who have had the band long term. Sorry you have such a rough time though. :phanvan Help me understand. Why would Dr No only put 2.8 in a 4cc band? I thought from reading threads here that the bands actually hold more than what they say. What is the deal with that? You know, I just recently read about the Omnipaque used to check for leaks and some even use it for fills instead of saline. Did they use that on you? I'll look for that thread. Perhaps you already know about this, but I'll do a quick search. I wish you the very best and don't ever think of yourself as a failure....even if you do switch to RNY, that doesn't mean you failed!! You have come so far and should be proud of what you have accomplished!! Hang in there!! :gluck:

I've lost all motivation!!
:pound: Hey, when your done with the psychiatrist, would you send them my way? I want my band so bad that sometimes I wonder if I'm going to PB after eating.....not really, but I do think about the band constantly. Being preband I can't really speak to your eating after an unfill, but my guess is your just being normal. Maybe you just needed to have an affair with an old friend. Hang in there....tomorrow is a new day!!

Jeez I feel fantastic!
Keep looking....you deserve it....we ALL do. You brought a big smile when I read your first line. :biggrin1: Every prebander should read this and know the waiting will be worth it!! Thanks for sharing and being so inspirational!! :clap2:

Easy Way Out...
Tell him you love him then tell him what Jen RN said, "take the stairs". I LOVE that!! :heh: Of course, my DH suggested the lapband for both of us, so I'm in a different position. Boy, the fur would fly in our house if my DH said that to me.

Burning in throat
Oooo...that's what I was afraid of. I will still get some juice in the house in the event I need it post band. Now, I could do the egg drop soup and my husband would probably jump for joy. He loves chinese, but I try to limit him b/c he's one of those people that spew garlic through his skin. I dared him to eat it when I was pregnant.....one night he did sleep in the spare room. :heh: You do have some great friends. I bet it was nice to just be home. Thanks for the info....every little bit helps.

SCREAMING in FRUSTRATION
You know, we call that "grit" where I come from. Never surrender!! That's a good attribute to have. Some people take it too far and become rude, but I can tell that's not you. You just make things happen. :biggrin1: Perhaps that will be the difference between and "yes" & a "no". This I know for sure, you are going to appreciate your band sooo much and will be sooo thankful. I can say that from my personal experience. I read something I can't get out of my mind that PhotoNut wrote....."God's timing is perfect".....or something to that effect. I keep reminding myself of that and think of all the people that have been at this for a year or so. I fully expect a "yes" as you do. Let's keep on keeping on and lean on each other!!!

R U a NASCAR Fan...Let's Talk!
What an exciting race today!! I was on pins and needles just waiting for Tony to wreck....thank goodness that didn't happen. I told my mom that I thought Tony took a muscle relaxer today and Jeff Gordon smoked some wacky weed. :heh: I just can't help myself. I love the emotions of a race like this. I really got excited when Gordon shoved Kenseth. So unbelievable!! :faint: Kenseth did apologize, but he barely tapped him. Someone on Fox was saying yesterday that Gordon would be the coolest driver on the track and his car won't have a scratch. That's just Bristol Baby! :heh: Speed News reported that he may be fined and points deducted. I'm not a Gordon fan, but I disagree with that 100%. Kenseth should have given him more time to cool down. But then again, if that was Tony, he would have everyone up his rear sideways condemning him. Did anyone hear Kyle's nickname used to be shrub? That was too funny. :heh: I think that's a good nickname for both of the Bush boys.

Burning in throat
Diana ~ You are so beautiful....I'm glad you posted that pic. The sunset is just gorgeous too!! BTW, did you get some Aloe Vera juice & Egg Drop Soup? I've never tried either one, but it doesn't sound appetizing. Does the juice taste like the plant and the soup taste like an egg? Just wondering since I'm preband. I can learn to like anything if it helps my soon-to-be-band. :biggrin1:

Hair Loss
Just got color yesterday and asked my hair dresser about the Biotin. I am preband and she suggested starting it now b/c according to her, it can take up to 6 mos to build up in your system. Anyone know if this is true or if it's a benefit to start taking it now?

My New Puppy
How precious!! I love dogs and I'm glad you posted Bailey's pic. :clap2: Something tells me those toys won't stay behind him for very long. Good luck with the little fur ball. :biggrin1:

I will be # 13!!!!!
Have you tried www.obesityhelp.com ? You can look up a lot of info on docs at that site. Also, try www.drscore.com . Have you done a search here for his name? If you are uneasy for any reason, do what you can until your comfortable with your choice. It may mean going with someone else. Only you can make that decision. I know my husband is very superstitious and wouldn't even let me call the insurance company on Mon the 13th. Didn't bother me, but I took his advice. Best of luck to you on making a decision!!

Coffee?
I've heard coffee beans count as a vegetable & wine as a fruit....not really, but it's a nice thought. :loco: My surgeon says no coffee, but I don't think I can swing that. I only have 1-2 cups a day. :phanvan I think moderation will be the key for me.

Losing the Weight
Congratulations on your weight loss!! I am preband, but I bet it is kind of scary to be dehydrated. How do you workout? I used to go to Curves and I'm just wondering what people do. We have Curves here in town along with the Y and a place like Curves but they do actual weights. I'm also considering an elipical machine when I get two dimes to rub together. I will pray for little Chloe. It sounds like she is a little one if your checking her breathing. Yes, I did that too when mine were small. Does she have RSV? Both of my boys suffered with RSV and it was scary. Have fun picking out a minivan. I wouldn't be without one now. It's nice to push a button and have the door open when you have little ones.

HELP ~ April Fools for Little Ones
Thanks Morsaille ~ That sounds like a good one, but that would require me getting out of bed myself.....I hate mornings. :notagree I appreciate the reply. :clap2: Anyone else pull good ones on their kids?

SCREAMING in FRUSTRATION
I really think some companies actually teach stall tactics!! Can anyone with experience in insurance confirm or deny this? Why didn't she tell you that on Mon...was it the same rep? Do you have a fax? If so, ask the office to fax it to you when they fax it to insurance then call insurance. Sorry to ask so many questions. :phanvan I am frustrated for you.....hang in there!! :biggrin1:

Husbands
Hey Flower ~ Do we have you convinced? Have you checked the paper for a used computer yet? :typing: This thread is really starting to crack me up. :laugh I sure have enjoyed reading about all your husbands. Morsaille ~ I do feel bad of you and I don't know how or what to offer for a solution. :phanvan It's difficult to convince some men that wives/mommies do need some time for themselves. Maybe you could put a huge sign above the computer that says: If mama ain't happy....ain't nobody happy!! No really, it is healthy for a relationship for each person to have an outlet....you already know that....it's just convincing him. He knows that too b/c he loves E-Bay. I can relate to the 2 yr old thing b/c my boys are right here wanting me to help them with game on daddies computer while I'm on LBT. I tell them to go get their daddy. :heh:

Tried to Talk Me out of the Band
Well said Dana. :clap2: I was actually surprised to find the bypass people so supportive at the groups I attended. I was really expecting more of what you experienced. This does go to show that all overweight people do have something in common regardless of what or if they decide to do something about it. rachele ~ I am a newbie & preband, but I am sorry you have felt offended. I feel you do have a place here however, I do think you should expect to hear some things you don't like. Personally, I didn't see anything wrong with what Doty posted on this tread b/c she was stating her opinion and her friend's experience. I would never do bypass myself, but more power to you if that's what you decide. Again, I am new, but I do believe there is something in the rules saying "to attack an idea and not a person or individual". From what I read, this is what your doing to Doty. I don't always agree with Doty or others for that matter, but I go on to something else. When I attend 2 groups this week, I didn't learn about band issues, but I did go away with a little something so it wasn't a total lose. 1. Learned about possible hair lose (missed it here somehow). 2. I will write down how I feel b4 my surgery so I never forget that feeling and hopefully, that will bring me inspiration some day when I need a boost. I learned more at LBT than I could ever learn at a 2 hr group meeting.....even if they were only bandsters. This is what works for me. Like you said, WLS is not one size fits all and I think most people would agree with that statement. Feelings and convictions are the same way. You have to accept them for what they are and move forward. I wish you luck and I hope you find your place here or somewhere that you can feel like part of the family.

dismantle my life
I know it can be hard sometimes to let your guard down, but that's what you need right now. Let your LBT family carry your burdens. This is an overwhelming time for you have friends here that love and care for you. Let us do it. Keep typing away and you will find the support to lift you up. We can't fix the problem, but we sure can be there for you. Also, I don't know where you stand with God, but He has always promised to never give us anything more than we can handle. I know the times I feel the lowest are the times I lean on Him the most.....turn your eyes to Him and you will find peace. Click here to listen to a song that is very personal to me: http://www.wrensworld.com/anchor.htm The first verse says, I have journeyed through The long dark night, Out on the open sea, Sight Unknown, And yet His eyes are watching me. The anchor holds. Keep posting....we need you as much as you need us.
