I would be honored to be a "Secret Sam". My son's bday is July 5th. He was supposed to be a "fire cracker" baby, but the pitocin didn't make him budge. He came when he was ready. OOOooo, can I share his pic? He was only 3 mos here and he was such a little butterball!!

I like this thread Stitchy. This has been on my mind recently and I wondered if some people feel the same way......I don't see the obese person I really am. I don't see a skinny person either. I just see me. Sometimes I look and say, "Wow, who is that fat person?". Maybe that is why I have a problem with food. I'm not sure. Reality usually hits when I see a picture. I hate it. I have to admit that is me. A look in the mirror to me is usually just a glimpse and it's very rare that I take time to look. This is a good question and can go deep if you really think about it. Did your psychologist indicate whether it was a good or bad thing of how you saw yourself? I ask b/c I feel the same way and I'm sure why I do.

I have no idea how much time I actually spend here, but I do know I've been here a lot lately and my husband is perfectly fine with it. Right now, he's outside with the boys. They have daddy time after being with mommy all day. I can see his point about the activity level....I do need to move my butt more. I also feel this is a tremendous source of support that I couldn't find anywhere else. My husband enjoys some of the things I share with him......I usually share the funny things. Perhaps there are other issues that need to be considered between the 2 of you. Is he jealous of the time you spend b/c he really feels it's taking time away from him? Just a thought to ponder. I wish you the all the best. I don't think you are going to find a right or wrong answer here.

That is just terrible!!! Sometimes I think they will use ANY excuse to see if we will fight them. A couple of weeks ago, I was told my insurance didn't pay for lapband....HA....they had rec'vd my file on Feb 14th. Someone didn't know what they were talking about. Let's hope the appeal is swift & simple.....still praying!!

I voted....I hope this poll is taken into consideration in the final decision of the owner & moderators. Isn't it great to have a place where members can have their voices heard? I love LBT!!

Great thread!! Right now I'm asking for God's direction with the band. I did get approval and now I'm on to the tests and such. I am taking a stress test next Thurs for my heart. Just pray for the Lord's will and hopefully a good outcome. On a funny note.....last night at dinner, my 5 yrs old offered the prayer and he asked for God's help for mommy & daddy to drive to grandma & papaw's house. He really misses them and the feeling is mutual. They about melted when I told them what he said. Makes me want to jump in the car and make the 3 hr drive!!

My thighs do not allow me to go without pantyhose. I wouldn't be able to walk. Of course, sometimes I wonder if I'm going to start a fire with them on.

:welcome: Welcome to LBT!! You are on an exciting journey and I'm glad to hear you decided on the band. It's a personal decision that is not appropriate for everyone. This is a great resource for the band and other issues. I just got approval yesterday and can relate to your emotions of waiting. It is truly the hardest part, at least so far, IMO. Be sure to check out the "Search" link on the top of your screen. Also, check out the Insurance and LapBand FAQ's forums. You will find tons of info that can help you along your journey. I'm not so sure I would have been approved without some of the knowledge I learned here. I felt armed and ready for the insurance game. Hopefully, you will have a smooth approval. Calling all NASCAR Nuts.....most of our men are in the top 10 for the start of the Subway 500. WooHoo!! I missed qualifying. Didn't even know it was on. I love night races!! Can't wait till tomorrow night!! :clap2:

Thank U all!! It's nice to know someone shares and understands the enthusiasm. My mom is reserved b/c she is beginning to realize this is real. We are both putting it in the Lord's hands. I called the supervisor of PreD dept and she faxed my letter of approval as we were talking. They usually mail, but she made an exception. YEAH!! They want me to keep in touch and want to hear about my progress. Wow....I think they really care. It's been a long road, but the trip is worth every minute. Now on to the destination!! I told the surgery coordinator, I am available ANY day in May. My husband has put his boss on alert and I'm ready to go at any time after I get my tests done.

YEAH!! I'm still working on a May date myself.

I hope it's OK to post this here since it's about things kids say even though it's not referring to the band. After church, I asked my kids if they had fun in Jr church. My youngest, 3 yrs, told me he raised his hand and said, "Excuse me ma'am, but that's a scary story". I asked what she was telling & my other son said it was about Jesus dieing of the cross. I'm glad he at least used his manners. :rolleyes

Wow...that is kind of scary. I will say a prayer for you. I need to have tests run b4 surgery for my heart and I would be devastated if something kept me from the band. Although, I do tell myself that if something is found, it is meant to be and the Lord has His hand in all of this. It's best to know now. Keep us posted!!

If it wasn't for "Aunt Flow" I wouldn't be wearing undies at all....I hate them and a bra. Currently, I'm wearing JMS white cotton undies and my gown & purple robe. Earlier I was wearing my way-to-worn-out Victoria's Secret Second Skin Satin bra. It's so old you can't even read the size. I think I even got this one off of E-Bay b/c they don't off the larger sizes in the SSS anymore. :cry It's almost like your not wearing a bra at all!!

Penni ~ Have the moderators considered getting input from their members? I know a thread was posted not long ago asking for input on new features. I wonder if a poll would be considered an option b4 making any changes. Of course, this isn't my site, but it is a suggestion.

Could you pinch me to make sure this is real? I don't have many details at this point. Just know that I'm approved and they are going to fax the approval letter to my surgeon. My new crusade will be to push for a May date. I have my pre-op class next Fri. I still need to get the stress test for my heart since I had an arrhythmia show up. At this point, any date makes me happy!! :biggrin1: Thanks for all the bananas.....love it!! I can't get this smile off my face. :dance:

Oh Leener ~ I have lifted you up in prayer and will continue to do so!! Bless your little heart!! Try to keep your chin up, I'm sure you will be fine. Allow me to quote leatha_g from another thread....."Don't borrow trouble". Forgive me if that's not exact, I can't find the thread right now. The point is, hang in there and try to keep your thoughts positive. It's easier said than done, but you can lean on us for support.....we will all lift you up. I hope your office was able to confirm you for early next week. Keep us posted sweetie....you are going to be fine!!!

Finally, I get to post some good news. :dance: The battle is over and I won!! :clap2: I have rec'vd verbal confirmation of my approval!!! I am shaking, crying, and overwhelmed!!:faint:It feels like the dream I had the other night.:notagree This is REALLY going to happen for me. I just got the word 20 min ago and had to make some calls, then couldn't wait to get on here to tell all of you!! :love: Thank you again for all the support!! I am convinced the knowledge I learned here played a big role in getting approval. I felt armed and ready for anything they threw my way. I was even ready to type up a letter of appeal. Praise the Lord for He is good and always knows what's best for us!!
