One day liquid? Wow that’s the shortest I’ve seen. Good luck!

November Bypassers!!
Good luck this week! I’m right behind you next week. I’ve been reading the September and October bypass threads since they are one to two months ahead of us.

Food funerals?
Absolutely been doing this! In fact cooking some ribs on the green egg right now to get it out of my system for awhile.

Anyone regretting this?
My RNY is scheduled in nine days and I hate un filtered water. We use water pitcher filters at home and have a bottled water cooler at work that tastes delicious, almost sweet tasting. What are of the country are you in? Down south lots of limestone in the aquifer results in soft water. Up north it’s hard with heavier minerals - the point is different sources do taste different and bottled is NOT the same as “purified” which some times removes the good taste. What kind of cup are you using? I can’t use a yeti style cup for hot as it all tastes metallic but cold is ok. Hope you got everything worked out.

@remix107 thank you for your response. Getting off statins and blood pressure meds that early would be a plus.

When can I start swallowing capsules?
You need to check because some meds are time release and you need a different formula if you crush them.

That’s encouraging. ?

For those who had temporary "buyers remorse"
Great response to a very good thread!

Thanks all. Seems like first couple of weeks are rough then about three months out it turns to normal then six months out goes from good to great. I know all is different and I’m over analyzing but trying to prepare mentally as much as possible. I have zero fears of the surgery, but the following months scare the crap out of me!

Thank you. That is what I was looking for. I know it’s going to be a tough transition. Trying to get mentally prepared for a no regrets attitude but it’s a BIG change. I keep looking at my “fat” pictures and try to think of all the positives but that only takes you so far! Good luck and hope you get to the no regret stage soon.

Surgery was Monday, things feel weird

Just curious for those post RNY surgery, how long did it take you to really feel glad of the decision to have surgery? It seems some regret it and some it’s just the pain, but a lot of posts seem to go really happy about six months out. I’m sure it takes awhile to adjust to the new lifestyle - how long did that take you? Ten days till surgery!

Pre surgery monitored diet
Mine was six months and had to note my change of habits in an attempt to change, ie parking at far end of parking lot and walking farther, putting fork down between bites, chewing food 30xs, etc but oddly no requirement to lose weight, just couldn’t let my BMI go below 40, which was not an issue! I lost 3-4 pounds each month first three months then gained 2-3 pounds second three months. Approval came three days after it was submitted to insurance.

T- 14 days
Thanks Matt! Really appreciate the kind words. I’m sure in six months I’ll say the same thing, just like every one else! Just hit a patch of nerves.

Thank you. I did search out many, many past threads of all kinds so I knew complications but it just seemed like more people were having complications and posting - just a casual momentary observation....hopefully. I don’t fear the surgery itself at all, in fact I kinda of welcome the rest for a couple of days!!! I told myself a last January it was time for change, just didn’t think it would take quite this long, but here it goes!

Thank you! It is great to hear from someone who just had wls and that they are doing great! I think a lot of times most people don’t post unless they have a problem so thank you for posting that it’s not that bad!

It’s getting close and things are getting real. Seems like I’m all of a sudden seeing more posts about post op problems! Definitely having waves of second thoughts surrounded by statements of “can I do it today”?!?! Such a life change on the horizon, and definitely freaking out when I think about the post op struggles. Is it the wrong time to do it before the holidays??? February is filled with kids and wife’s birthday, plus our anniversary. Oh yeah, looking at buying a new house. Is there ever a good time? Can I add anymore stress??? Ok rant over.
