New Science About PCOS and Possible Hope for Future
Thank You So Much Fluffy Chick this might explain why I had 2 babies post 30 after trying to add to my family for so many years! Such a gap that one of my obstetricians asked, if by chance was This Baby's Father my Second Husband? Nope they all had the same Daddy!

protein shake
Yeah , not bad at all , have used the Vanilla Bean myself. The best tasting of the Vanilla ones, like you say A very clean Formulation. Phage grown tired of Vanilla anything, have been,allergic/ intolerant of chocolate's whole family for 44 years, including cocoa butter. So I usually do protein enriched smoothies and it seems to work for ME.

Realizing just how fat I was...and still am
And I am proud if and for you all, especially Mike and Carrot64, I too tried telling people how much more I needed to lose, guess I have never been good at saying Thank You and not belaboring the point. Either I am I ungrateful or I just have not had that many compliments in my life. When you are a fat baby, 36 pounds , 35 inches tall at one year, the size of an average American 2 and half year old, it is rough. Remember in the past the BORN TO BE WILD t-shirts? Someone should have issued me one BORN TO BE FAT, it was only the truth! And it has been difficult, notice I don't say impossible, only difficult, to lose 120+ pounds in 9 months but I am on my way and will remain on my way until my surgeons, other doctors and especially ME are satisfied, then I can go into Maintainance and like the motto I have adopted THE REST OF MY LIFE WILL BE THE BEST OF MY LIFE! JOY cometh slowly but JOy shall still come!

Yeah usually, now I am a bypass sister, so maybe my interpretation is skewed. You still have a patent stomach, yes only a banana sleeve but that stomach remenent works. Liquid goes down your esophagus, hits your cardiac sphincter, the valve at the top of your stomach, valve says" Well Hello there , come right on in here!" your banana is no longer too tender, it gentally stretches enough to accept the 8 ounces and you're okay. You are Not Miserable, Not in Pain, You Are A Lucky Ducky! Will this hurt you? Not if it hasn't ALREADY. I do have. a Bari-pal on here, another RNY, her Texas surgeon seems to have given her a Cast- Iron pouch, I'm in Ohio, either my surgeon could not do this or I just didn't heal with strength and rapidity like she did. Oh I do honor and celebrate her for it! Meanwhile I sip down my 2 ounces, 3 on a rare day, and remember we all do not heal the same, thats why we are called INDIVIDUALS. Either I will finally grow up to be like her, she is about 7 months ahead of me or I won't, but I still shall be Frustr8, if I am Good Enough for GOD, why should I argue? Hope this helps or at least makes you feel Better about YOU!❤

Am I getting enough calories
At this point I doubt I am! That said, I am vasically still healthy, protein and fluids first, veggies next if there is room, seldom have room for fruits, don't crave them anyway. Tried to discuss this a month ago with dietician only to be told, You Look Good, Diet looks pretty good , in less there is an emergency we will see you in August. The fact I feel instictively I am starving into malnutrition, not relevant? IDK- I feel like a Voice Crying in the Wilderness " ARE YOU SURE I'M DOING THIS RIGHT?" I must appear okay but I don't seem to handle anything with form, like chewed up meats, veggies et all. Last endo shows Jejunem is patent- well goody goody for that- my question is, and no one will answer it, not NP, not surgeon, not even gastroenterologist, did the severed and/or squeezed to death enervation in my pouch regenerate to point I have regained any peristaltic movement? Or is it as I suspect, there is no propulsive force to move things along and out, this is why and what I repeatedly emesis up more solid things? And also, ves there is enough gastric acidic juices to try eating holes in my pouch and jejunem, but are they starting to beak down proteins and the other foodstuffs or are they extruding like thick toothpaste into my small intestine? These are things NOBODY wants to talk about, I do know basis anatomy but I need a tutorial on Bariatric 201, 201 because this is at least Sophmore or Junior- level information.Do I demand another office consultation with my gastroenterologist Dr Upchurch, who is at least here in my city instead of in Columbus 50 miles away? He gas been a G.I. doctor for maybe 20+ years , so he is smart enough, does HE Want to SPARE ME the time? After years of Frankly Fathood it is still weird to feel clavickes, ribs, even the outside edges of my hipbones. Oh I am grateful my legs arevregainibg their youthful proportions even if the musckescare no longer as strong. And although many of my bari-sisters will disagree, I REALISH THE WOLF WHISTLES I GET! Yeah that doesn't mean they will ever catch me, but after years of being basically ignored , it is nice to be barked at, makes a gal feel alive instead of dead , I can handle being" meat, " because inside I'll feel like "eye candy"! Your specimen of reborn youth--- FRUSTR8

Mental Evaluation
Well I never considered dropping anti- depressive drugs anyway, just had them changed from ER to I believe SR. And yes, I knewbi had depression, but mine was tied to NOT receiving my surgery, Not to surgery itself, have not fallen back, into the Blue Pit of Despair since, oh I shall always have Depression lurking in the Wings, like many other things I am In "Remission" more than "Cured" but Life is Liveable and I still trust in a Happy Future!???

June 2019 sleevers
Well the Bruins are feeling a little " Blue" after the Game 7 loss tonight. That said I WILL CONTINUE to pray? for PAPI, he was a great player but the times I saw him interviewed he was. a Total Gentleman, and that is a rarity among Sports Figures. I hope he will get stronger then heal for I believe God still has plans for him.

Would you believe, and I have been a participant of Bari-Pal for 1 and half years, You Are the very first Physician- participant I have known of! Welcome-Welcome and I do pray your surgery will also be successful. I usually offer to mentor and be a source of wisdom to all the "Newbees" in your case , probably un-needed, but still I call myself the Bariatric Godmother since I am probably the oldest Bari-pal active. I was 73 last 26th of December and will celebrate my 1st year Surgianniversity on September 5th. Yes, an untypical age for such Major Surgery, but my mantra is: I WILL MAKE THE REST OF MY LIFE THE BEST OF MY LIFE! And I believe I shall, even though I have had ups and downs, hairpin turns and just missed getting mired in quicksand on my Weight Loss Journey, it still goes forward and I hope to reach all my goals on time. My surgeon gave me quite a compliment. After my surgery he said You may be 72 externally, but inside you are more like a 45 year old internally. I compliment you on such good care!" And I was very fearful of NASH but went on his " Liver- shrinking Diet" the entire month of August, and made my liver smooth, sleek and smaller in size. Made it an easier procedure for him and a less pain-ridden recovery for me! So let's agree to be friends, you never can have too many of THOSE!

Anyone else NOT eating like they should Post-op?
AS the world's longest Stage 2 , at least SOME DAYS I feel that way, may I throw in my advice. Make sure you are taking your vitamins/ minerals One of the reasons you're moved along is to ensure you're getting everything needed in a balanced amount and to make sure as a VSG, RNY or even a lap-band (although there aren't as many of these as once there were) that your body can handle and get maximum value from these all. I am a special case, and truly it WAS NOT MY CHOICE, shortly after my surgery, they say 6 weeks but I truly believe much sooner, I started having difficulty with the diet progression. It had been my surgeon's advice to move me as an RNY at 3 weeks to level 3, but every time I tried I vomited, even mild nomally easy things. They offically validated this. at 6 weeks when a follow-up endoscopy showed my pouch was very inflamed, structured and both it and the adjoining small intestine, the jejunem were very ulcerated. So far no bleeding or perforation, but it is always a possibility. And my surgeon's Junior partner, who routinely does the endoscopies for the practice and I have tried. First I am one of the very people Omeprazole is Not Gastroprotective for. FYI, when I was under my gastroenterologist's care in the end of 2017, he discover I had a small gastric ulcer as well as gastritis. I had disclosed this when. finally scheduling my surgery, but it was their practices usual plan to put their patients on this drug post- surgery. And surprise surprise, I ulcerated again. So after this endoscopy I was permitted to resume my Dexilent, another PPI, higher- priced (over $300 monthly, if cash, but my insurance covered) and Carafate to help coat and heal the ulcerations. I take it 6am-noon-6pm-midnight and have every since last October 12th. Each follow-up endoscopy, and I gave had 12 or 13 now in my lifetime,as a matter of fact I have another scheduled today at 11 AM, an attempt is made to dialate my opening. The first few times I was just too red and swollen for it to work, but she and I have not given up- My theory, and it's just mine, is that somehow I gave developed a ring of muscle that snaps shut. But we still are not giving up. The end of November I wasn't as meticulous about my diet, my ulcers got worse, I got into a state of malnourishment and extremely low protein levels and had to be re- hospitalized. And the next day I had a PICC line placed in my upper left arm and was fed a nutrition solution 12 hours a day , I believe this truly saved my life at this point, this went on for 3 months with weekly blood levels run, this was d/feed in the end of February, I have regained back my health but still required an iron INFUSION in late March. And I have learned how to keep my nutrition balanced all though per her instructions, I still do not attempt more than a very liquid diet. Oh it CAN BE DONE, but it is Not very easy. And like a thirsting traveler I do long to be set free. Each EGJ I pray that things will be at a normal state and I can move on! They have not confirmed it, but my underlying fear is that I will require further surgery. This was not the way that things go normally. Burnt I am a Brave Little Camper who still believes in my doctors and myself, and we will triumph, no matter how long it takes. I hope my insight has helped you, but please bring your doctor " back into the loop" and follow their advice. This is my first WLS but my doctors have handled and helped many patients to success so I trust their wisdom greatly!

Are sugarfree mints ok to suck on with sleeve ?
And remember a lot of the sugar free candies are made with mannitol and xylitol, and those 2 sweet little critters can cause diarrhea. Last time I checked it's hard to suck on mints while the other end is a- exploding, not impossible, just rather hard!?
