The only problem with popcorn is that there is hardly any nutrition in popcorn. It's just a starch. If I want something that would be more on the side of a special treat, I'll at least eat something that is fairly Protein dense. Today, I wanted a treat so I ate 1 chicken tender for dinner. I had a little of Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ Sauce which is a favorite of mine.

I have popcorn on occasion, no issues with it. I have Act II 94% fat free, 15 calories per cup, popped. It's no no guilt way to satisfy that salty crunchy, snacky craving.

I wish you the best. I was you but before the surgery. I started seeing a “life coach” it’s so much different than a therapist and she helped me more in 6 months than 20 yrs of dieting and therapist etc. i am 6 wks post op and have adopted better habits but it was hard and still is. You can do this / there will be bad days and good days don’t beat yourself up about the bad ones and learn from the good ones.

I also make a super easy pizza using a small non-stick omelet pan.
    Real Pan Pizza
    Makes 2-4 servings
1 to 2 oz part skim mozzarella, grated (or reduced fat grated cheese)
    1/8c low carb/sugar marinara
    favorite toppings
    Parmesan cheese
    Red pepper flakes

Don't grease your omelet pan but make sure it's non-stick.
Loosely sprinkle in about 1 to 2oz freshly grated mozzarella cheese. Heat over medium high heat. When it starts to melt, sprinkle on granulated garlic and dried basil/oregano or Italian blend spices. Top with your favorite toppings and dot with about 1/8c of the lowest carb marinara possible.
Cover pan with a lid, reduce heat to med low and let everything cook 3-5 minutes. Gently lift an edge of the cheese up. It should be dark brown! If it is. Remove lid. Remove from heat and let it sit for a minute. Slide pizza onto plate. Blot extra grease. Top with Parmesan and red pepper flakes. Cut and enjoy!
The cheese makes its own crust. It's super quick/easy. Just don't stir it around or play with it while it's cooking. Part skim mozz works best for this cuz it's lower in fat. But cheddar will also work for taco pizzas, you just have to blot it more, cuz it will swim in fat--unless you use reduced fat cheeses by maybe Sargento?

Deevanh11 got a reaction from FluffyChix in Food stuck - bite conscious
Well I am 3 wks post op sleeve and I was doing so good. Then I had a hard boiled egg and didn’t pay attention to the bite - awful! I was in pain for an hour but I didn’t vomit. Then again today I wasn’t paying attention to the bite and again pain and suffering- except this time I had to get rid of it. I vomited 2x and finally it felt better. But now my throat and esophagus are burning. Doc says back to liquid diet for 2 days. I have learned my lesson and I hope this helps someone else.

I’m 4 days post op from gastric sleeve and was so excited to find this forum. Not a lot of pain but the acid reflux is Awful! My dr has a strict regiment - maybe the same as others - chicken broth, Water and sugar free Jello for 8 days. Then a post op class where we can have cottage cheese. I’m very tired but I force myself to walk every 2 hrs. I’m sure the sluggish feeling will pass soon - I hope. Very excited for this journey to a lifetime of weight issues. Thanks for reading.

Welcome Alice, I love your pen name, rose quartz is one of my favorite stones. I am at the opposite end of life, I am 72 so I'm kinda the Bariatric grandma. I'm in it to win it just like all the youngins. I for one think you're a smart young lady to be seeking surgery. Let me tell you how it feels to be obese most of your adult life. First people think you are lazy, if you' d get up and move that weight would just fall off! Either they regard you as invisible or they won't invite you to their home because you might break their furniture. One of my so-called loving family members told me this. They treat you like you're disgusting and stinky, I take as many,if not more, baths as the next person. They think you don't care about yourself because you let yourself get this way. Sound familiar? You start out strong but eventually your joints start failing, you wear your cartilage away until you are bone-on-bone and you start to have joints replaced, I have 2 knee replacements, they are nice to have but 85-90% as good as the original. And you get bone-a** weary of dragging your body around, you take to sitting down or lying down cause it hurts too much to move. You start hating your body because its failing you much as you wish it wouldn't. You feel like like life is hopeless and you may die this way. Then you hear of a surgery, yeah it might even change how your body's arranged, the more you study, the more you realize that might not be a bad thing. It is just a tool, but why not devote the energy you've spent just trying to live to this?? It's scary but finally you ask for help and you find it. Maybe when you went to the doctor before they were just insulting, Bariatric doctors aren't that way. If they were, they wouldn't be in the business very long. And as you get to know them and they get to know you a relationship is built. By the time your surgery comes you've learned to trust them. On surgery day you intrust your life to them, you go to sleep, wake up in the recovery room with nurses and techs caring for you. You realize you've made it this far and know you're on your way to a new chance at life and better health. And you commit yourself to using this tool and using it in the best way. As each success comes you are prouder and prouder of yourself in a way you never were before. And this is what I believe the journey will be like. Exciting isn't it? You can do it and i can too. Lets do it together for ourselves. Up for it? I know I am. Your new friend and surgery buddy ME.
