  1. I agree with you, from this and previous posts, you're not ready. You are focused on what you will give up, instead of what you will gain. No one can make you want your health, weight loss, mobility, etc., more than you want a pastry. Hopefully you will get there one day.
  2. Thanks ... BUT, only home for two days this week. Tonight starts my Pasta, Wine & Gelato vacay!!!! ?
  3. 3rd date is generally known as cardio date
  4. Meh ... Fire isn't an issue if you live in an urban area like I do, the key is more houses, less trees! Earthquakes, they've talked about "the big one" literally my whole life, and so far so good.
  5. What, oh no, now I need to find out when cashew season is ... Nicaragua is already on my to do list!
  6. You got there the hard way, but congrats!
  7. I'm looking forward to getting back on track after vacay. It is an amazing feeling to feel so satisfied on so little!
  8. @Matt Z & @GreenTealael What is this rain and snow thing you speak of ...?
  9. Amateur hour compared to my trade show roller grill food binge!
  10. @FluffyChix ... so sorry to hear about your gallbladder! What's the plan for it, meds, removal, tbd?
  11. You guys are too funny. I've never been regular in my whole life, and never even thought anything about it, until I joined this site I'm actually grateful, can you imagine with my travel and time zone changes? Those poor people on my 6 am flight
  12. I was dating someone when I started considering surgery, and only told them once my surgery was approved and scheduled. ( I had no pre-op diet, so my process was quick). We stopped seeing each other shortly after my WLS for unrelated reasons. We then started dating again. He gave me no reason to believe he was any more or less attracted to me +/- 70 or so lbs. It ultimately didn't work out, but again, unrelated to WLS. After that I intended to not date until I got to goal and had plastics. But someone interesting contacted me on a dating site and I decided to go with it. I was about 70 lbs lighter than the pics on my dating profile. Before we went out I sent him some current full body pics, so he get the an idea I had lost weight, but didn't say anything. On our second date we had dinner, and he noticed how little I ate, so I told him about my WLS. I kept it positive and light, and he just asked a couple of not very probing questions. We've been dating 3 months now. It's honestly, pretty great. We've talked more extensively about my WLS. I asked him about the body type he is attracted to. He said he likes curves, and the exact size of those curves he's flexible about. I have no reason to doubt that's true, as he contacted me thinking I was larger, and is dating me now that I'm smaller. Couple of thoughts ... "she thinks it would be better to start dating someone before I lost the weight, so I know they care about me no matter my size." Time goes so fast. My advice is don't put your life on hold for some point in the future where you will meet such and such goal. After you lose the weight, will you want to wait for plastics? It's easy to let time fly by and feeling like your in some kind of holding pattern. Just embrace who you are, put yourself out there and see what happens "Did you mention it in your dating profile?" IMO, that's a bit much for a dating profile. Just bring it up when you feel it is natural, it should happen early on. That will screen out people that have an issue with it. I think you are overthinking this a little. @Ed_NW ... I think that is a bit pessimistic, and that has not been my experience.
  13. Yay!! Count down to cardio time .... As far as visually appealing goes ... we all have types. There are definitely men I wouldn't date based upon their physical appearance. So I can't really hold it against someone for doing the same thing, can I?
  14. Aren't you supposed to be on a date??
  15. But this is someone's who's trusty and beloved yogurt turned on her ....
  16. Nooo ... you don't want that .... If there is a good way to bring it up, just go for it IMO. For me, every time .."You didn't eat much, was it ok? Was something wrong?" If I like the guy and see potential, I just say I had WLS, and don't have a lot of stomach capacity. I keep it light and positive and low on details. If I don't like the guy I just make up some reason like my stomach is off, late lunch, etc.. I figure it is good screening, if he's scared off by my WLS, better to know sooner rather than later. And this is coming from someone who is fanatical about keeping it a secret at work. So I'm not of the opinion to just tell everyone.
  17. I usually say something on my first date that is a meal, if I feel like there is potential with the guy. How little I can eat is always noticed, so I figure it's an opportunity to just get it out there.
  18. Pet rental!!
  19. @FluffyChix Good luck with your long medical procedure day ... no fun!
  20. Me! Me! Me! I knew I would have plastics from day one. I always saw this as a two step process, WLS & plastics. I had originally planned for plastics this Fall. But that's not an option now due to my work travel schedule. In looking at my schedule next year, there is no way I can plan enough down time for recovery, until Mid November. I confirmed that next Fall my schedule should be more flexible than this one. I even gave my boss a heads up and got his support on the non-travel time. I figure I will need a week or less of actual sick time, considering I work from home. Funny, my boss does not know about my WLS, but I have no issue telling him about plastics . I HATE having to wait a year, because I'm not a patient person, but it is what it is. Knowing I'm not having plastics for a year has led me to being more relaxed about my weight loss. I'm not in a mad rush to get to goal. I like the way I look in clothes. In a few more pounds I'll get to a normal BMI. I think I'll be happy at around 140, once plastics tightens everything up. I don't want to go lower, I don't think, because I don't want to lose my a$$ Additionally, I'm dating someone right now, who seems pretty ok with how I look naked . So that also takes some of the pressure off to get "fixed" right away. Procedures Breast augmentation & lift - gummy bear tear drop implants, natural looking D-DD Tummy tuck - may not need muscle repair, since I've never been pregnant Lipo - back, flanks, thighs Inner thigh lift - I don't want the long thigh lift scars. This surgery is the most daunting for recovery, and risks associated. Arm lift - crescent or modified T, again, I don't want the long scars Neck lift - this is secondary after the plastics above, maybe in a few years I'd really really love to get all of the body procedures done at once. But I'm not sure if that is possible. It's just so hard to get the time to recover with my job, I'd like to only have to do it once, IYKWIM? The good thing is I have tons of great plastic surgeons local to me, so I'm spoiled in that respect. Ok, what procedures does everyone else want??
  21. Could do worse ... the Dr.'s are hot and seem to have no ethical issues with cardio with patients
  22. Some see a hospital bed ... others see a jungle gym for grown ups!
  23. Totally possible with that foot ..... just saying ....
  24. Yay! I think there might be some cardio in your future!
