5 days post op—the things they did not tell me
That sounds like head hunger vs. physical hunger. Surgery has no effect on cravings.

Lettuce & Salad
I don’t think there is a norm. Many people can tolerate leafy greens early on, and many others cannot. I don’t think one is more normal than the other.

Eating out or at others homes...
The good news is, there is always something reasonably healthy to eat on every menu, although it might take a few tweaks The bad news is, IME, for the first year my capacity was so restricted I always attracted attention because of how little I ate. Just expect it and be ready with an answer!

Carbs
Are you on a PPI? Rumbling tummy can be acid, not hunger.

Last meal!
I had no ore op diet so I spent the two weeks between approval and surgery having food funerals. I had home made tacos, take out Chinese, burgers etc. All things I knew I wouldn’t be able to eat for months. No regrets!

You look fantastic! But you gave up yogurt ??

Lettuce & Salad
I’d suggest Beano for the gas. I find it really works. But you have to take 4+ pills at the start of the meal. I think some people who say it doesn’t work just take 1

How long did you keep logging meals?
I'm similar. It's a habit, and not a chore for me to log at all. I eat a very varied diet, and have no eating routine, so it's important to me, to see where I approximately come in at for calories and protein each day. I'm new to maintenance, so it keeps me honest, along with weighing myself. It also lets me know about what my BMR is at currently.

June 2019 challenge
Have a safari slated for 2020 or 2021, but won't be luxury (but can't be a budget safari either ... shudder ?) Little concerned about cell service. My job isn't well suited to being out of touch for extended amounts of time. ?

Benefits of working from home, I wear a fuzzy robe over my t shirt and leggings. I'm sure my UPS guy thinks I'm insane

June 2019 challenge
Shallow lesson, but a lesson nonetheless .... I can't keep copy cat thin mints or savory rice cakes in the house. I have no self control with these two items.

June 2019 challenge
Does not having learned any lessons this week make me shallow, or something? Mountain climber done (it was tough!), just need to get my walk in today. B-side - Luxury African safari where I see ALL the animals!

Food Before and After Photos
If it were my body I'd roll the dice, but the bf already having these odds, "1.7 times more likely to be diagnosed with—and 2.3 times more likely to die from—prostate cancer". The chia benefits don't seem to outweigh even a potential elevated risk factor.

Oh man, without someone to share them with, I can't imagine I'll ever get through very many I won't roll the dice on the potential cancer link for the bf. He already has the odds stacked against him with his race.

ok, thanks @GreenTealael, @FluffyChix & @ms.sss I'll give it another shot. The bf is on a eat healthier kick, so he'd probably be excited if I made it for him. How long does it hold up? Could I make a batch over the weekend and individually portion out a few days worth? (Should I warn him about the pooping benefits/consequences? ?)

@GreenTealael, @FluffyChix @ms.sss Explain to me this chia seed thing! I have them, I made pudding once. It was fine. It was perfectly, fine. But at 60 cals/tbls?? It just seems like a lots of cals for fine .... What am I missing?

Six months post-op+ : The Sophomores Thread
Buuut ... you dress up for Walmart! You know the last outfit I wore to Walmart ... leggings and a t shirt that fit when I was 100 lbs heavier! They didn't clash, but they didn't exactly match either Yesterday my only trip out of the house was to walk to 7-11. I wore pajama bottoms they gave away on a flight, that also fit me 100 lbs ago. I think the 7-11 employees must think identical twins live in the neighborhood. One twin is homeless, the other drives a nice car ?

Six months post-op+ : The Sophomores Thread
I have become a total diva with my "not just around my neighborhood" wardrobe. I have sooo many clothes, I hate repeating an outfit. My bf has never seen me in the same thing twice . With work associates, if I wear a black dress one time, I'll make sure I wear a colorful skirt the next, and skinny trousers the next. Thank goodness the most frequently I see anyone I work with is quarterly ?
