Don't be anxious. Remember you've come so far, done so well, tomorrow just starts your journey to better health. Now climb on that cart,lay back, and let the surgeon perform the magic. Bariatric surgeons do it often, they do it good, it's not their first rodeo, you are in good hands. As I read the stories on Bariatric Pal most posters say they wake up only minimally uncomfortable. Makes me hunger for my own surgery, should be within the next 6 weeks . Just think, as of tomorrow you'll be a "veteran" to me. Now get some rest tonight, I'll be praying for you. Hey it's 9pm Wednesday where I'm at, has anybody heard from Fluffy,Chix since her surgery Tuesday morning. Hope nothing plucked off her feathers, she's going to be a naked little birdie if they did. Worries me.

After a relationship of 2 1/2 years, off and on, I feel my bariatric program has kicked me to the curb. I completely finished the program once- in Spring 2016 and after a change of insurance, the new insurance had approved me for surgery and I could have had it then. They never told me of this fact until maybe a week ago. I started the process once again in November 2017, got all my prerequirements done December 2017 thru January 2018. Things looking well , yes? Not so you' d notice, when checking over my paperwork the contracted psychologist not even affiliated with the hospital had given me a less than stellar evaluation. This self-same person had told me face to face I had passed all testing and she would submit it into my records. Not my word against hers for my son (who is an adult) heard her also. So they had a meeting yesterday, I called it the Bariatric Court of Appeals. I was ruled against, none of the 3 surgeons were willing to continue the case. The scheduling woman who called me back suggested I get counselling, how can I do that when I don't know where I did wrong or what hidden flaws I may have? I did receive a grudging admittal that the records belong to me and could be released to another program of my choosing. So I called the other programs in that city, both Centers of Excellence Hospitals, one wanted the paperwork and then they would consider me, the other invited me to the first informational seminar they had open during the day, March 10th, said I could fill out release of information paperwork that day and get things moving.Which one do I really want? To tell the truth I wanted the place that was not faithful to me. I had re-arrainged my life to have nothing bar the early-mid March date they had originally promised. Will I have to start back at the total beginning of a new program, Gee i hope not for I am not getting any younger. Do I feel my deepest wishes and desires were violated? Dang straight! Those if you who have read my postings know me to be a level- headed straight shooter of a gal. I hate duplicity in any form, always have, always will.I am not doing well being told I am unworthy, not good enough or important enough to go forward with surgery. I would have tried my best to be a model patient, wouldn't have complained of pain or anything else. They did not give me a fair chance to be successful. Do I go along losing a pound or 2 a week and hope that's enough to prevent me from dying prematurely? I can't lose any more sizable amount without surgical assistance, Lord knows I've tried everything up to and including starving myself. No diet really works. But they may be having non scale victories, losing inches & exchanging fat for muscle, everybody has stalls and then start losing again without diet changes. It will all even out eventually.

Central Ohio almost smack dab in the middle 14 miles from the Geographic Center which is Centerburg, the town my Mama lived near and graduated from the High School there. Lord, the things i know about that place. One of my ancestors, Preston Hubbell, gave the town fathers a loan when they were laying out the town. Came time for the loan to fall due, they didn't have the ready cash so they named Preston Street after him instead.
Charter is the sons of Seabiscuit the horse that bought Time Warner and instigated these lovely changes. We were an independent cable company until. 2000 when TW took us over and bundled us into their Columbus Ohio division. We lost most of our local programming but intill recently we retained our Monday night City Council meetings, they suddenly disappeared, no warning. Seems like our bill keeps going up in small increments, they holler about adding more, as an example I have the Weather Channel 3 different # on the grid, CNN 4#, that's not improvement that's duplication. Their excuse: we have so many packages out there. Not my problem-there's. You ought know how the American retail philosophy is- New and Improved means the box is smaller or its gone up in price!

New to this forum and it's so educating reading everyone's stories, goals, concerns, ect. You guys amaze me at your strength and determination.
After much research i think i am going to have the gastric sleeve. Personally I think it's the best option for me. I talked to my insurance today because i had to get preapproved and things look good there. They have assigned me one of their nurses who will call weekly before and after surgery so that is nice.
Now i have to call for an appt with a surgeon. I will do that tomorrow seeing how that closed early today.
My biggest fear is telling my boyfriend and family. I am terrified to tell him afraid he will say he doesn't want me to or to tell my family or friends. Honestly I may not tell them at all but will have to tell the boyfriend seeing how we live together...lol
Anyhow any advice will be greatly appreciated. You guys have a great day!!

My surgeon says I'm twice as big as I should be for my frame. Shoot that's nearly a quarterback I've been lugging around. Doubt I lose that much but I'm gonna give it a try. I'm pretty inside, time to redesign the outside to match. Tom Brady or Brett Farve, bye bye.

You're not alone, you have all of us on Bariatric Pal. Oh, I could give you a list of all the misplaced advice each of us was given, do you want that? Nope , I didn't think so. You are doing this first and foremost for yourself. You have realized the way I'm living isn't working, I can't live like this anymore. Maybe you've tried diet after diet, they didn't work for you. You might have lost some weight but couldn't keep it off. So you've asked for some help from your doctor and by extension- us. First ,surgery is not the easy way out, it is a rough choice to make, takes a firm commitment to see it through, it can be body altering and life changing. Those of us here have seen and understand the struggle and are still going forward. I myself am 72 years old., a lot of my contemporaries would be content to sit on their haunches in a rocking chair, get fatter until they die. Not this lady, I know I'll have an uphill battle but I'm going to do it. I'm in it to win it, even if I have only a few more years, I'm going to live them thinner and healthier. As Reba McEntire says," I'm a Survivor" and survive I shall ! I ask all of you to join me on this journey, won't be quick and easy, and there will be some sacrifice but it will be so so worth it. Come on!

Hmmm I hadn't planned on a bikini at 72 anyway. Besides I'm always cold, my stomach,already looks, due to stretch marks, like the road map of Indianapolis with all the county roads marked. Beauty spots, is that what they are?, Shoot I thought I was just rusting So hand me the Hudson Bay Blanket, I feel a breeze coming on.

At 300+ I still dream of looking like your before picture so to,look like your after picture I'd bend down and kiss the very ground I was standing on. No you don't look gaunt or scrawny, you look in pefect proportion and what's more happy and healthy. Thank you for sharing them with all,of us.
