  1. Hells yeah! You are doing great!
  2. We are gonna change your user name to SuperDuperman84!
  3. I finally found some of this at our Aldis, and it isn't TOTALLY bad--imagine bread with cardboard and sawdust mixed in before it's baked...LOTS of fiber...
  4. Look into Isopure Zero Carb protein drinks. They are not thick and cloying like the shakes are, they are fruity and go down much easier. Plus one 20 oz bottle has 40 grams of protein. No, I don't work for them--?
  5. A lot of what you are feeling right now is probably hormonal in nature--the RNY can wreak havoc on them. You didn't say in your post how long ago your surgery was, but I think many of us had "buyer's remorse" and wondered why we did this. But PLEASE hang in there, talk to your therapist, and remember we care and are rooting for you. The scars and the pain will fade, and remember your kids--this should give you a long healthy life with them!
  6. Don't say goodbye, say "ta ta for now"! Keep us posted on your journey!
  7. Welcome to the forum. I'm sorry to hear of your woes! I agree that meeting with your surgeon would be a great start. Sounds like you are ready! Whatever you decide, good luck and keep us posted.
  8. I think the forum computer does that. I typed s--h--i--t once, and it added the same asterisk. I guess our virginal eyes will explode if we read cuss words.?
  9. AggiG, you look so much younger in your "after" picture. Good job!
  10. Welcome to the Gun Show!! Dtrain84, what an incredible transformation!
  11. I work in a hospital lab and in the old days we measured potassium on an instrument called a flame photometer. As the name implies, there is fire involved. Well, we were having trouble getting the flame lit, and as I was looking down the instrument to see if there were any blockages my coworker tried yet again to light the flame. Well, a HUGE fireball exploded right in my face. Burnt off my eyebrows and eyelashes without burning my skin. So I am familiar with that burnt hair smell. This happened about 40 years ago, and I can still remember the way my eyebrows smelled!
  12. Oh, that's Dr Vuong--all of his videos are peppered with the occational f-bomb. But I love his videos! And no one ever died from hearing a bit of &#^@*$ cussin'!
  13. Is that the casket you picked? I figured you were more of a shroud guy...
  14. I watched a video of a scrotum lift, Guys, don't watch it, it was cringeworthy even for me, a woman.
  15. I think your surgeon removed your organic stomach and put a cast iron pouch in its place! I'm two months out and just started eating artificial meat a week ago...glad to hear you are doing well! The weight is falling off of you!
  16. Jake you don't even look like the same person! Did you clip art some lumberjack's picture??
  17. Yeah, I guess it WOULD get into your system waaaay faster after a bypass! ?
  18. Honey, it'll take a huge building crane to lift those puppies up where they oughta be...
  19. Hey! You shouldn't talk about me like that!!!?
  20. It's my party and I'll cry if I want to, cry if I want to, cry if I want to...you would cry too if it happened to you!
  21. If you are having band problems you should definitely consider a revision. And I know you are interested in a sleeve, but you should consider the bypass. First of all, it isn't more severe--in the sleeve they are removing a large portion of your stomach. In the bypass the stomach is sectioned off, but the remnant (the part left after the pouch is made) is still there, and the bypass is actually reversible, while the sleeve is not. If done by laparoscope the bypass and sleeve are about the same risk--actually more people have died getting hip replacements! Did you have reflux before you were banded? If so the bypass is a better choice. Costwise, I'm sure the bypass costs more but I don't know that for a fact. Whatever you decide, get that dang band out and start being able to eat again (albeit smaller portions) without the fear of what it will do THIS time. I know before I got mine out I faced each meal with trepidation--am I going to be able to eat this without throwing up? Whatever you decide, visit often--you'll learn a lot here. Good luck!
  22. I melted coconut oil, added herb and simmered it for an hour, Then melted chocolate chips into it and added a bit of sugar. I froze it so it would keep. It was yummy like fudge! But I recently threw it away-I was afraid I would dump with it! First time in my life I wasted good herb...?
  23. Nature's Bounty has Hair, Skin and Nails gummies. It's Biotin and vitamins C and E. Right now they are buy one get one free at Walgreens.
  24. From DFW Bariatric Institute: "Hair loss after bariatric surgery is very common and very stressful. We all want to achieve great weight loss results and still have great hair. The hair loss associated with weight loss surgery is called telogen effluvium and has to do with the normal hair growth cycle. It usually starts abruptly and very seldom lasts longer than 6 months. Human hair has a two-stage growth cycle. The growth phase is called anagen and 90% of our hair follicles are in this phase at any given time. The resting phase is called telogen, which lasts about 1 to 6 months, with an average of 3 months. About 5-15% of our hair is in the resting phase at any given time. It is also known that telogen effluvium has to do with stress to the body and hormonal changes that can occur. Due to the stress more hair follicles can enter into the resting phase. This is important because the hair in the resting phase at the time of surgery is most likely the hair you will shed. This is why your hair sheds between 1 to 6 months after surgery (usually about 3 to 4 months)." Some people say taking biotin can help.
  25. Mine was at three weeks, also. It freaked me out, but I was still turning a ketostix purple so I know I was still burning fat even though the scale wasn't budging. I always say you shouldn't weigh daily, but when you get stuck like that you want to jump on the scale hoping "Is today the day the stall breaks?" So if you can stand not knowing you are better off weighing weekly.
