7 months and 11 days.. 100lbs down!!! This also happens to be the lowest weight I reached during my last big diet in 2008.
I have 2 kids that are trick-or-treating tonight. This time last year I vomited after walking up the hill next to my house (the exertion was just too much). I'm still pitifully out of shape, so we'll see if I fare any better

I feel great. It has been a very hard and long road but I'm finally over half way to my goal. I have no more diabetes and no more sleep apnea so I feel so much more healthy.
In the beginning I was very doubtful and quite depressed but it was all worth it.
    I've never been happier [emoji2]

A year ago today I sat in the prep area waiting for my surgery to begin. Today I am 150 pounds healthier and happier. I finally got back into my clothes I wore 8 years ago. It's so great to go shopping in my own closet!! Although I am not at my goal weight yet I am very happy with where the last year has taken me. :-). I feel like a caterpillar that turned into a butterfly :-)

Restriction only works if you teach it too. For example, I can eat 3 ENTIRE donuts, but I cannot eat an entire chicken breast!! Why? Because carbs turn into mush, please eat all your dense Proteins first, and your restriction shall never fail you!!

I'm at about the 9 month mark since my gastric sleeve surgery!!! I've only just reached the point where I've lost 100 pounds. It's been a hard road and a lot of tears, I still hate sweating and working out and have bad days sometimes. The truth is I never want to go back and that's what keeps me motivated to keep moving. I was a size 26/28 at the begining and last week I was able to squeeze into a size 18! Which I haven't done in years. I'm so happy and I know this is still the honeymoon stage but I'm really hoping this feeling lasts!

blue1961 reacted to Djmohr in How much did you lose after the year mark?
I was what I would describe as a slower loser because of my inability to exercise as aggressively as I would like.
It took me a full 18 months to get to my ideal weight. The last 20lbs were brutal and took really hard work and focus on my part to make that happen again because I was not allowed to exercise like I would like to.
I lost 151lbs over all. I weight 159 now so almost 1/2 of my body weight. At the one year mark I had lost about 115.
I also had a 28 day stall at the 7 month mark and as you know this is quite common.
Personally I refrained completely from setting any time limits on my loss. I simply kept mini goals along the way and celebrated with new clothing or something nice to keep me motivated. I never ever used food as a motivator either.
I am the type of person that knows if I put a time limit to something and don't hit it, it can be demotivating.
Your are doing fantastic! Slow and steady really does win the race and definately builds much better long term habits.
    Best of luck to you!

    Thank you

I have followed my clinicals teams dietary plan very closely. Warning Very long reply....

Avg day I do the following:

    Water 20-30oz pre workout

12oz of Fairlife Fat Free Milk with 2 scoops of nectar whey isolate Protein Powder. This equals 3, 4oz servings to be consumed throughout the day. One during workout. This milk has less sugar and more Protein.< br>
    Water 20-30oz

Then egg white scramble with spinach, onion, Pico de Gallo, get free cheese, and diced homemade turkey sausage. I make and eat 4oz.

    Water 20-30oz

    4 oz Protein shake

    Water 20-30oz

Meal Protein first - typically 3 oz grilled chicken or turkey. 1 oz of cooked veggies or Water rinsed fruit cup.

    Water 20-30oz

    4oz Protein Shake

    Water 20-30oz

Meal Protein first - 3oz grilled fish or chicken and 1oz of veggies (riced Cauliflower)

    Water 20-30oz

All foods are made without oil or butter.. even when eating out.

I wait 15min in between every 1 oz portion of food. I wait 30min after my last 1oz meal portion.

Take my Vitamins and supplements daily as prescribed.

    Workouts
I started out walking the mall, then elliptical, then I started the step climber, then I started walking in the treadmill with random hill inclines. Worked my way up with time and intensity every week.

I have been doing 30min of cardio and 30min of full body strength training. Typically 3 days per week. The other 2 days I might row, walk, or swim. Running was an accident... Treadmill setting went to high so I decided to jog so I wouldn't lose my program. I jogged for about 85seconds, then everyday I increased my length of time on the treadmill jogging. Then up to 5 min intervals. I jogged a 5k and decided I was going to finish no matter what - walk, crawl, or jog.

Over the last month, I started doing kickboxing classes 2 days per week.

Secret has been moderation and grsdually adding new pieces every week.

I use sugar free BBQ Sauce, spicy mustard, yellow mustard, reduced sodium soy sauce, sugar free ketchup.< br>
I weigh myself daily. Most importantly I decided before surgery that I was going to do all the work to make the most out of this opportunity. I cook 98% of all my meals. I measure every meal at Home and at restaurants. I carry a digital food scale at all times.

My treats are sugar free popsicles.

I have started trying recipes to introduce variety to my daily meal routine. I've eaten shrimp, fish, beef, chicken, turkey, pork, tuna, eggs, egg whites. Ground turkey crust veggie pizza, ground turkey meat loaf, ground Sirloin meet loaf (I get the butcher to strip the fat out basically making 98% fat free ground beef). Prep and store food.

Our minds are the only limitation... If you can imagine a food it most likely can be made in a healthy manner.

    Hope this helps!

Had gastric sleeve surgery in June of 2016. Was 389 at the time of surgery. All time high weight was 470 pounds in February of 2015. Now down to 170 and hoping to maintain at this weight. Included some before and after pics. Still have the pants from the before pic and can literally fit my entire body into one pant leg.

I was sleeved on 11/01/16 and weighed 320lbs. I have been obese my entire life and today my BMI changed to overweight. I don’t think I’ve ever been so excited to be overweight. My weight as of today was 185.7 lbs and I couldn’t be happier having had VSG surgery. I will be 11 months post op on 10/1 and my life has changed so much in these 11 months.

its now been 4.5 years since I was sleeved. my high weight was 323 lbs. my goal weight was low 180's. I did reach goal weight but over the years I realized that my desired goal weight was too low for me. now for the last 2 years ive steadily maintained a weight in the mid 190's and that appears to be where im supposed to be and im happy with that weight. today 10/1/17 I weight 195 lbs. I exercise 3-4 times a week and my choice of exercise is running. I will also be running the 2018 boston marathon and im so excited about being able to run this historic race! im running it for the jimmy v foundation for cancer research and ive committed to raising $6000 which is no easy task. if any of you have ever been affected by this terrible illness feel free to click the link after this post and make a 100% tax deductible donation to the jimmy v foundation for cancer research. every dollar donated goes to research. you will be supporting my run and a cause that affects everyone as everyone knows someone that has been affected by cancer. as far as my eating, I still have to be very mindful of what I put in my mouth. I can eat much more today than I could 2 years ago but still no where near what I could eat before having the surgery. hope everyone on their journey is doing well and feel free to ask any questions. im also attaching my before pic and a few current pics taken last week. have a great day! heres my donation link for anyone willing to support this wonderful cause: http://jimmyv.convio.net/site/TR/Endurance/General?px=1409952&pg=personal&fr_id=1370

blue1961 reacted to BostonGary in Almost a year out -- progress.
So I'm almost a year out (11/21/2016) and I'm about 105 pounds down.
My weight loss has slowed now, probably to about 2-3 pounds a month since June (as expected), but it's still happening and I've now started to be more active -- Tennis, swimming... I feel terrific and as you can see, there's a radical change. I'd like to lose another 20-30 pounds, but I'm going to do that with more exercise.
The first picture is a before and after of my face. Then there's some full body shots, or close to full body. Just to give you an idea of how radical this change was, prior to surgery, I was the following:
358 pounds and a 50/52 inch waist size.
    Today
    249 pounds and a 38 waist size
For me, personally, I'm back to where I was when I was in my late 20's, I'm 52 years old now. Health? I feel amazing, more energy, more sleep, more life.
Hopefully, this will inspire people. I know when I saw the pictures of people who made progress, I got inspired.

I hit a milestone today I am super excited about!
I have finally lost 300 pounds! I have been stalled the past few months and finally lost those last 6 pounds to hit this milestone! I am so thankful to be making this journey.
It still feels like a dream to me. It's crazy how I went from having to be on oxygen 24/7 and hardly being able to cross a room without getting out of breath to being able to walk for 6 miles and still be ready to go out and do other things!
I am loving life right now and wanted to share my excitement at hitting this milestone with you!

When you don't have to strategically think of how you are going to position yourself to clip your toenails. You can either reach down to clip them without a fat roll hindering you to reach them or you can just bend your leg up to clip them. This may seem silly to some but it was a life defining moment for me!

When you pause at a clothing display and wonder, "What size am I now?" Knowing it's LESS than last time, not more!
When the day after Thanksgiving finds you stepping on the scale and DOWN a half pound, instead of up.
When you dare to wear colors that are beautiful and vibrant, not just the ones that hide fat.
When you know that a half slice of marvelous homemade bread isn't the diet apocalypse beginning, but simply a half slice of marvelous bread you've chosen to have...and of course no longer feel driven to chase it down with four more!
