Just be sure to tell your doc so that proper precautions can be taken. I have a blood clot history (pulmonary embolism) and my doctor is aware of it and will take all the necessary precautions, and watch closely for signs of my blood thickening. Good luck!!!

i hear ya loud and clear. i know how hard it can be. i tried to push away last week and ended up further involved.

why aren't you gonna participate telly?? I am not going to participate due to the fact I will be healing for the 4 weeks after surgery. no workouts, i might have some sugar. it just isn't a good time to be trying to lose. but i will be in the august challenge.

Look at all those big losers out there!! LOL You guys are doing awesome. Those who have maintained, you sound like you know why, and we all have tough weeks and months. The next week and month will be big for you!! We are all succeeding beyond our wildest dreams!! Big numbers, big totals, big losses. No other group has this kind of energy here and I LOVE IT!! You guys are all awesome!

I lived in washington when the ecoli breakout happened at Jack in the Box. It was so sad to see all those people sick on the news, and to hear about that little girl dying. Ecoli scares me because of seeing that, and they said that Dole has recalled Classic Romaine. But they did not say which number run, or what dates they recalled. I have two bags of it sitting in my fridge right now.

I have united health care, and though all I had done was blood work, they coded it for preop tests. United health care had no problems paying it. They have no idea what sort of surgery i am having.

I think coordinators are a good thing, when they do their jobs right. I am ecstatic with ready4achange.com and them setting up everything for Dr. Sanchez. They have been there for me to talk to, get info from, they have been patient and happy to change my dates around to make it work. I think they are great!! But I hear ya on what these people did. It is awful. I guess you have to check out the coordinators as much as you check out the surgeons when dealling with going overseas.

I know they were flaky at times, but they were nice to have. Where did they go? Can we have them back?

Hi guys. Just wanted to check in and let you all know how much i lost since I did the diet up until Sunday. I have lost another 10 pounds since last wednesday. So keep it up everyone. you are all doing really great!!

310 (-62 lbs total, -10 this week) I think if the preop diet goes well there is a good chance I will be at my surgery goal date for sure! I really want to be in twoterville at surgery time. I didn't think it was possible, but i also didn't think this kind of weight loss was possible. It almost scares me! LOL But I am sure my body is just really tired of being this size. When I start being healthy, it melts the weight off of me.

I am glad you came back. You might want to post a question to Dr. C in the complications thread. He might have some ideas, and knows a heck of a lot more about anatomy than I do. He might know what nerves the apron might be pinching. I am so sorry to hear about the pain you are exp. I hope you are right that I will do well. I struggle a lot. But this is a great support system here, and you will find there are a lot of people here with exp similar to yours. You should also check out the gone for good club, and join up. They are great motivation for losing weight, whether you are banded or not. You might be able to lose some before you get to the point where you can afford the surgery. it is what I did and I am down 52+ pounds. Good luck, and thank you so much for the prayers. i hear ya on the tv programming for kids. Although we do not do PBS we definitely do not watch cartoon network. It is way too violent, and I hate most of the cartoons on there. When we lived in washington there was this great channel called boomerang that was owned by the cartoon network. It was all the old cartoons like flintstones and popeye and tom and jerry and yogi bear. The kids loved that. But we don't have that here. Nickelodeon is ok for most of their shows. Nicktoons channel has more of the adult and gross shows that sometimes I don't like my kids watching. But the channel they really love is Noggin. Their slogan is "its like preschool on your television" and they are pretty right on. Great educational shows, and the kids really love them. I actually have a fear of Elmo. and I am dead serious, although I think every mother has a slight tinge of this fear. but i have had horrid nightmares of that little red freak and can't stand to even hear his voice. LOL So we do not watch pbs.

Carlene that is too funny. All of you have inspired me. I have a potted gardenia that I just love. And a new backyard that is just plain old grass. I hate it. We have no fence between us and the neighbors on both sides, and it is pretty much a long thin yard. I am thinking of doing some natural borders to break up the yards, and leaving the lower half open for the kids, and access to the neighbors' (we visit often). I want to lay some concrete pavers, or pour some concrete in the back to extend the porch a bit. I am a big fan of fragrant flowers. I want to plant lots of gardenias, and jasmine. There is a ground cover version of jasmine that is all over the place here. I am thinking of getting some cuttings and plant it in our front by the front door. It smells amazingly sweet when it is all in bloom.

mr and mrs smith (the original) i thought was good for its time. but yeah..the remake blew. lol a movie we own, and watch a lot in this house, is chicken little. we love it, and the kids are spellbound till the credits. We are also finding nemo fans. we actually played the widescreen version so much it got destroyed and can now only watch the regular screen version that also came in the cd case.

The gasping could also be spasms of the diaphram as well. I have heard that bariatric patients have their diaphrams do weird things because of the trauma to the insides. It might just be that it was irritated and showing its appreciation to you for all your trouble. Glad the temp is down.

mcassoccpa that is awesome that so many people are doing this diet with you!! And that is good to hear another doctor say that it is a good plan. I think that as diets go, if you work it into your daily diet, and realize the health benefits from eating so many veggies that you will really flourish. I am missing the soup. I am on my preop liquid diet full force and there is nothing more that I want now than a big ole bowl of viggie stew! LOL I love the different flavor ideas. I have been doing an italian twist to ours because we really love italian food and it keeps the craving for pasta down. LOL We add an extra can of tomatoes to it, with some oregano and sweet basil, and a few spoonfuls of garlic. yummy. OMG I want some now. LOL Good job everyone!! I will be back on this as soon as I am allowed. Can't wait to see everyone's totals.

Vera, Dr. Sanchez and Dr. Cardenas felt that my history of blood clots were too risky for the TT so I am getting banded 3 or 4 months earlier than anticipated!! Cool huh? My surgery date is on the 10th! I am so excited. And thank you guys for answering my question. Good to know something is done for this risk after surgery.

Not all places do it. That is why I was asking for Dr. Sanchez patients in particular. I know that it is a good idea. Didn't you love the way it felt? Its like getting a massage while you recover!!

oh i can't wait to do that. living here in florida we have plenty of coasters to ride. After i get smaller the family is going in for year passes to every park LOL

Did he jump out of network on purpose? or was he dropped by uhc for a spell?

Dr C. if this is old data, what is the complication rate? I know the complication rate for people who are obese is almost 100%, being that eventually we all end up with some comorbidity. To me the band is a better way of life. And I agree...with nausea and vomiting there in the statistics it really inflates the number.

I didn't know you couldn't wear an underwire. I wear a 44DDD right now, and have a bra that i wear that is built like a battleship. The underwires are stronger than steel. LOL At home I never wear a bra, but if I even step out to get the mail it has to be on. I can't imagine not wearing one. I hate bras without underwires cause I feel like my boobs merge into one large boob. I am hoping that my bandaids I bought will just protect the scars and let them heal ok. we'll see.
