  1. The revision was for GERD. At one week post op I may have still been on a PPI but it was pretty clear further out that the GERD was gone. I agree with your doctor to keep calm (but don’t hesitate to reach out to them) Try to allow yourself a bit of grace to fully heal. One week post surgery is very early so there’s likely a lot of inflammation. My advice would be keep your team in the loop about any changes, sleep propped up, don’t eat or drink anything besides clear fluids near bedtime, and avoid anything that previously caused your GERD to be worse. I know it’s boring advice but I hope it helps. ❤️
  2. Just a little 10-15lbs mostly because of the stressor of surgery itself (but I regained it and lost it again) My surgeon was keen on me staying in the 26-28 BMI range so he suggested to not make the bypass length his standard 150 cm but 120-130 cm instead.
  3. I could eat this entire thing if I’m really hungry. Congratulations! I think you might have a rare level of restriction. ?

  5. If you are asking me: I’m still doing pretty well. No issues. I saw the nutritionist a few days ago just to check in and make sure I’m on track. She was pleased with my progress (food and liquids quality and quantity). One thing I was eager to discuss was probiotics/probiotic foods and my reintroduction of carbonated drink (seltzer and kefir water, kombucha) I avoided them for a long time but she said I’m perfectly fine to have them. So generally no changes for the last few years. Honestly real no changes from the first year post revision.
  6. Congratulations!!!
  7. Congratulations!!!
  8. This is very tragic. I read the article and I can’t tell if the original surgery in Turkey included a 10cm bowel resection (not a routine part of any standard WLS) or the emergency surgeries in Serbia. And she was released to fly just 3 days post op! That is still in the risk window for embolism. The worst part is the surgeon saying he did nothing wrong. He could have had the grace to just send his condolences or keep quiet. I’m so shocked and angry with the details the more I read. It’s all so sad. RIP
  9. Protein Belgium waffle I used to make these often in the first year after WLS when I was concerned about reaching protein goals. I lost my trusted recipe so I’m back to experimenting again. This one was a little too thick and dry but overall not bad because the flavor was nice. I tried it with strawberry jam and agave caramel sauce. I prefer the caramel sauce. The tracking is for two full-size waffles without jam or sauce (I only ate half of one waffle so 136 cals, 19 g protein & 10 g carbs)
  10. How slow was it cooked? What type of curry? I’m very interested in making this.
  11. Extremely more affordable and highly skilled if you choose the right surgeon. Miami is a high volume plastics hub (like Dominican Republic, Colombia [highly recommend Medellin] and Mexico), so these surgeons may see more patients in their lifetimes than others. They do tend specialize in a style (vixen, pinup, lush and full bodied etc) but they will work with your particular frame just be very specific what you want.

  13. Well that’s another piece to the puzzle! I’m sure you’ve heard how hard it it’s to lose weight during these life stages. But don’t give up hope! You can still do it. Keep us updated if anything you do breaks through the plateau. ❤️

  15. The guidelines lines I’m referring to are : Limiting sugar intake to 5g or less per serving, protein forward meals, limiting carbs and fats. Separation of meals and drinks (30 min rule), limiting calories from drinks, etc. (I’m sure others can chime in with more Bariatric specific rules that they were given to follow). What is your doctors recommendations now that you have stalled? How tall are you? What does your exact calorie intake look like weekly? Do you accurately track it or eyeball the amounts? Have you used any online calculators to figure out your BMR, visceral fat, lean muscle mass, etc? These can help you figure out your excess body weight . Also InBody and DEXA scans will tell exactly how much excess fat you are carrying.
  16. Ok this is gorgeous! What did you use for the tart crust? Homemade? Pre made?
  17. Perhaps you can switch it up and follow some WLS lifestyle modifications to see if it breaks your plateau. Good luck ❤️
  18. Congratulations! It’s a really noticeable difference especially in the fit of jeans.
  19. Unfortunately newer GLP-1 agonists like for weightloss like Zepbound (counterpart to mounjaro) and Wegovy have limited availability in Europe. But I believe Saxenda is available in Italy. https://www.politico.eu/article/health-fake-weight-loss-drugs-ozempic-and-wegovy-surge-in-europe/#:~:text=In Europe%2C Wegovy and Ozempic,it's available in the U.S.
