  1. I am a huge fan of these new meds because: they work and it’s moving the research of obesity forward instead of continuing to moralizing it. For our population, it’s not clear whether or not this a life long commitment because there are no current trials for this. https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1155/2022/6820377 (section 2.9. Potential Roles of GLP-1 RA on Prevention of Perioperative and Postoperative Complications of Bariatric Surgical Individual) https://www.thelancet.com/journals/landia/article/PIIS2213-8587(19)30157-3/abstract GRAVITAS Trial from 2016-2018
  2. If only it was this simple! The exciting thing about the new anti obesity medication is the renewed efforts into researching the causes and solutions to obesity. We now know that some of these complex processes are beyond our control.
  3. Super exciting ! What show are you seeing?
  4. Happy (21st) Birthday @Arabesque ?
  5. I immediately thought the same!
  6. You may want to let the PCP know that you have been dieting unsuccessfully for x amount of time and what you have unsuccessfully tried to manage your weight so they can note it in your chart in case that is a requirement needed to receive the referral/insurance approval. Good Luck!
  7. I have to say Im happy you choose the VSG over ESG. Every time I see someone post about ESG, it’s always about insufficient weightloss. But to your question, All things being equal, I would go with the surgeon with the best supporting staff because they will be with you long term. They will see you more and help you more often than the surgeon who you may see twice pre op and once post op if your surgery is uncomplicated. Normally after all the required testing is done, your case will be submitted to your insurance for approval. Once approved they will schedule you for surgery. In the meantime you can double and triple check your coverage to make sure your policy does not have a bariatric surgery exclusion, that the hospital and surgeon you choose are in network, what your copay will be, etc. Bariatric surgery so routine now that they can usually predict an insurance outcome unless you skip/don’t fulfill a key step. Good luck!

Would you believe it if I told you it’s a beach cover up! I don’t buy clothes often because I have plenty and my size is basically the same as 6+ yrs ago but as soon I saw it I knew I loved it.
  10. No this was a store find while on vacation
  11. Birthday cake! I only eat cake 2-3 times a year now so this one was special.

I can’t even consider it because of the texture. ?
  14. Sometimes this happens to me specifically with cashews and brazil nuts if they are hot/sweaty (going racid)
  15. Just no. Absolutely no thanks to all of this tomfoolery. Never let them cheap out on you again.
  16. Ive have multiple endoscopies and I was never awake for any of them. What was the reason they didn’t sedate you the first time? Edit: I see now that it was twilight sedation
  17. Hoping your next year is filled good news and events ❤️
  18. I bet your dinner companions are always happy!
  19. I *usually* fall into the non cook side these days so don’t worry about being a pro chef on the Food Before and After Thread. The pandemic destroyed my love of cooking. I did too much. These days like to batch cook and eat the same things until they’re gone. I have zero problems eating the same things on repeat because I don’t really crave specific foods (except chocolate) I just get hungry in general. TBH I don’t use traditional sweeteners often but when I do it’s VERY sparingly and actually measured. I prefer buy premade glazes so I can control the calories. Most of favorite things are also the easiest, like air fryer naked chicken tenders. Just thin slices chicken breast spices and a little oil.

I would absolutely join you for tea, Lately I’ve been fixated on oolong and black but please have an extra cup of green for me! This place looked like just a tea shop but unfortunately it was a boba tea shop. I couldn’t have anything that they served or I would be sick. ? But my daughter loves these places.
