hi workingmom my surgery date is tuesday the 13th. i went for pre-admitting testing on monday. they will call me friday between the hours of 3:00-4:00 with a time as to when to show up at the hospital.they call me yesterday an claim they lost my blood, so i had to go to my pcp to have about 6 more tubes drawn. i think the young nurse only took about two vials maybe she suppose to have taken more who knows. i never heard of anyone miss placing blood.hope you have a safe an good recovery monday will be thinking of you sil.

i decided not to tell, i have only told bf, my son, an daughter knows,after everything over maybe then. my sisters, brothers.they live out of state.

hi nikki914 i am getting banded on the 13th also.i do my pre-admission testing om january 5th,an also one on one session with my surgeon he is gonna prescribe my pain meds ahead of time for the pharmacy. an he require no pre-op diet. wishing you a new year,for our brand new journey.

hi i started a seminar in march 08,did the 6 months dietian classes. finish sept 3rd, still had to do more pre-testing.oct, nov, now it,s been 10 whole months, my surgery is january 13th, my pre-admission is on monday jan,5th.it,s a long process for some, for others it,s takes 2-3 months.

hi my surgery date is january 13th.it,s been a long process so far, i went to a seminar in march08,then my pcp recomended me to a doctor in newhaven,at first i was hesitant because i don,t drive but then i found out i could take the bus, i had to do 6months dietian classes, finish them sept 3rd,if i had known to do pre-op testing a head of time.maybe i could have had surgery sooner,buti had to make my own doctors appointments,always follow up on your own,i was waiting for the biatric nurse to make them wrong.well that,s water under the bridge.from sept3rd.to january 13th. that,s ten months.i.ve lost 40lbs so far, i go for pre-admission testing monday the 5th.an do a one on one session with the doctor.then two weeks after surgery.i am feeling nervous.that,s 5months i had to wait. in the mean time i exercise 6 days a week sometimes twice a day. i started practiceing the day of my dietiam classes. my doctor don,t require a pre-op diet.so glad.good luck to everyone this new year. sil

don,t forget your free fluids such as crystal light sugar free popsicles fat free low sodium broth decaf herbal tea or decaf coffee(can add artificial sweetner 2nd week fluids with calories diet carnation instant breakfast drink ensure or boost atkins readt to drink Eas advantage carb control my favorite slim fast an don,t forget sugar free jello or pudding my goodness you should try chesscake instant pudding it is good. hope that help.my date is january 13th. what a great new year present.

hi i had to do the 6months dietian classes, with the nutrition. they give you a good idea of the foods you are suppose to eat. an they document weight every visit mine told me it,s to prove to insurance that you could lose the weight.at first i was not serious.but when she told me that i got on the ball.since april 08.-dec 08- i have drop 40lbs.i will be banded in january 13/09. so it is worth it.i thought this day will never come.you can do it.
