  1. My doctor has me stand as well.
  2. I never had a problem remembering to take it either. I can't remember to take my vitamins or anything else, but I can remember that pill!
  3. Thank you!
  4. Yes, occasionally. Things have been pretty good lately.
  5. I am afraid to take any diet pills too. The girls I work with pop them like candy.
  6. You took the words right out of my mouth!
  7. It wasn't just the video that made me think twice. I am a nursing student, and learning about fetal development and everything, there is no way I could think that a fetus is not living. There is no way I could not think it was wrong to end a little life, which is basically what a fetus is. In fact, I know of some students who were prochoice until we took those classes, then they changed their minds. The "procedure" may be simple, but what actually occurs inside the womb and after is not simple. Do you know that at a lot of places where abortions are done, even first trimester ones, the nurses have to reassemble the fetus to make sure all the parts are there and that none were left inside the woman? How would you like to have that job? That alone has turned many nurses and other medical personel against abortion. I am not saying that I am against abortion for women who may die having the child. That is a different situation. Either way, someone is going to die, either the mother or the child. I can't imagine having to make that choice. Again, with rape and incest, that is also a terrible thing, and I don't think a woman or young girl should have to be made to carry that child. But let's face it, most abortions are done on healthy women who got pregnant on their own, either using protection or not. I am not saying that I think abortion should be illegal, I am still on the fence. I just think more women need to be educated on what is actually going on in her body, and what an abortion actually does. I think most of all, unwanted pregnancy needs to be prevented in the first place. There needs to be more education about birth control and abstinence. Then we wouldn't be in the situation we are in now. Too many women use abortions as birth control, and that should not be happening.
  8. I can't speak from personal experience, but my sister had to have a hysterectomy when she was 25. (She had cancer). She is now 38 and she hasn't had any problems. Her sex drive is as high as ever! That's all she talks about!
  9. I never tried yaz, but I tried yasmin, which is basically the same, except there are more active pills in yaz. I didn't do well with yasmin. It made my periods crazy. I was bleeding at least 2 weeks out of the month. I can't take the high dose pills because they make me sick. I am on loestrin right now, and my periods are finally back to normal. That ring gave me horrible cramps, plus it was hard to insert and I had a fear all the time that it wasn't in the right place.
  10. Yea, we don't have sex very often either, so that's probably why he can't last long. Who has the time or energy these days?!
  11. I was once prochoice, but after watching and learning how an abortion is actually preformed, how violent it is, I have to say, it has really made me think twice. Like I said in an earlier post, I think if more people actually saw it and knew how it was done, a lot more people would change their minds. And it has nothing to do with politics.
  12. I think no matter what help is available or not availabe, abortions are going to continue to happen, either legal or illegal. Some women just don't want babies. Plain and simple. No amount of help offered is going to change their minds. If they don't want it, they don't want it, and there is nothing anyone can do about it.
  13. I know what you mean, I have gotten into 2 pairs of pants that I haven't worn in a long time!
  14. Since I can't orgasm from penetration anyway, it's no big deal to me. I have to have other stimulation and my husband is WONDERFUL at it. But he was a little worried about it.
  15. I totally agree with you MacMadame. I was one of those people who ALWAYS felt hungry no matter what I did. The band has taken care of that.
  16. Yes, I got lucky and had mine done in May. I didn't have to take any classes in the summer, so I had all summer to recoperate. But I know what you mean, they don't want us doing ANYTHING either, even breathing, LOL. When is your surgery? If your school is like mine, we don't start clinicals until October. So if you are scheduled soon and don't have clinicals for awhile, you will probably be ok. Have you thought about talking to the instuctor? Maybe they will be a little sympathetic. (None of mine know yet). How long do you have left in school?
  17. Restlessmonkey, I am also in nursing school.
  18. I have no problem at all with shrimp. It is actually easier for me to eat than any other kind of meat. I can eat just about anything I want, including steak, as long as I take small bites and chew well. The only thing that gives me a lot of problems is bread.
  19. I'm sorry to hear that. But you are right, some women have periods up until they deliver and it is normal for some. Keep us posted.
  20. I am very close to my coworkers too, but I didn't tell them about my surgery. It's not very hard to hide it. I just took a few days off for personal reasons and no one really questioned it. I didn't tell many people at all, mainly because I just didn't want to be judged.
  21. I don't see any problem with a young person getting this surgery. How many of us that are older wish we would have had it when we were younger? I am only 30, but I wish I had it done a long time ago. It is so much easier to lose weight when you are in your early 20's than when you get older. I think I would have lost the weight a lot quicker if I had been banded when I was 20 instead of 30. It has been a slow loss for me, but it is still one of the best decisions I ever made. I think anyone who is at least 30 pounds overweight, regardless of age, should be able to get this surgery.
  22. I can totally sympathize with you. I have horrible stretch marks on the inside of my thighs and I am SO embarrassed when I go to the gyno. I feel like the stretch marks are all they see. I know that's not true, but I have thoughts of them laughing at me when I leave. (Totally irrational, I know). I would also suggest a female for the first time at least. I also see a nurse practitioner, and I feel like she provides better care than doctors and she takes more time with me. Not to be personal, but if you are not on some kind of birth control, maybe you should consider it because we get more fertile as we lose weight.
  23. I agree, it is not the easy way out. I hate when people say that.
  24. I don't know about the SSRI's. I took Celexa for a long time and it never seemed to help with my IBS.
