Should prostitution be legal?
I don't see praying before a football game or having a moment of silence as being FORCED. If someone doen't want to participate, then they don't have to. But not being able to pray and not being able to have a moment of silence is FORCED. That's what I mean about taking God out of everything.

Butter Tub Savers
No, you're not ridiculous. I don't do a lot of leftovers myself. My husband and I bring leftovers home from restuarants and they just end up sitting in the refrigerator and going bad.

It is never God's plan for someone to be injured.

Should prostitution be legal?
I agree with you. While some atheists don't want our beliefs forced on them, some see no problem with forcing their beliefs on us. That's like some wanting "In God we trust" removed from the dollar bill. It has always been there, if someone doesn't want to read it, then they don't have to. I believe this country was founded on the belief in God and Jesus. You can read it in the constitution. I also think that most americans believe in God and Jesus in some way or another. I heard something on the radio the other day that was interesting. If most of us are believers, then why do we just sit around and not do anything about God being taken out of everything just to please atheists, when most of us are believers. It makes you think.

I agree with you, no one should be forced to pray. That isn't what I meant at all. If during a moment of silence or a prayer at a football game, if some one chooses not to pray, that is fine, in fact, I wouldn't want it forced. That is just controlling people.

Do you douche?
I'm glad to see there are some smart women on this board! I wish my patients were as smart!! A lot of them just won't stop no matter how many infections they keep getting. Most of them tell me they just feel like they need to. Most of them are older women, though, and I think it has to do with the way they were brought up. That's just what they did back then. Women weren't considered clean if they didn't do it. My mother used to douche all the time. Her doctor and I finally convinced her to stop a few years ago, and she has stopped getting so many infections. There are times though, when some women need medicated douches, like after cervical cancer treatment, and some other times, but that is very different.

Do you douche?
I work in a doctor's office and I am very surprised at the number of women who still douche even though we now know it is bad. I used to, but I haven't in years because it causes infections and it is very unnecessary.

Should prostitution be legal?
Unfortunately, a lot of people today still see women as unequal. My husband even thinks that women should still wear dresses all the time because it makes us more godly and closer to God!!!!!

Should prostitution be legal?
I totally agree with you, Kat. I also believe that living with certain attitudes makes life so much better, for us as well as those around us. Although I can understand why some are athiests, I do not agree with some athiests wanting to take prayer and God out of everything.

Should prostitution be legal?
I think a lot of religion was created to control people, especially to control women.

Butter Tub Savers
I reuse stuff all the time. We don't use real butter, but we use the fake stuff. I buy the small containers and I have several in my cabinet now. I don't have a lot of leftovers, but I mostly use them for my cats water bowls. They work perfect. And when they get dirty or old, I just throw them away and use a new one. I don't know if I believe that about plastic being bad. All of our food comes in some kind of plastic.

Why do women have anal sex?
Yes, I've seen the movies with the girl and 2 guys. I do not understand that at all.

How many banders can eat bread without problems? How much and when?
By the way, I do eat burgers, too. Just without the bun. It's still protein!

How many banders can eat bread without problems? How much and when?
I can eat anything I want except bread. It feels like my stomach is blowing up, very painful. I haven't had any problems with pasta or rice though.

Should prostitution be legal?
You are exactly right. This is exactly what I meant in an ealier post about people putting on a show in church. I also believe that speaking in tonges is a gift from God, and anyone can have the gift if they want it. But I also believe it is to be used during private time and during church only when there is an interpreter. This is the main reason that I stopped attending church on a regular basis. I do not agree with it either.

Should prostitution be legal?
Yes, I totally agree. The pentecostal church I visit from time to time no longer has these rules either. I wouldn't go if they did, lol. I believe part of the rules also came from a time when there were so called jezabels. They dressed this way, and they were not accepted.
-
Should prostitution be legal?
Yes, I believe one reason for these rules was so women didn't lure men into the sin of lust. The part about women not wearing pants also comes from not wanting women to show their "shape". There is also a passage in the old testament that says something like " A woman should not adorn herself like a man." A lot of people took this to mean that pants were for men and therefore women weren't to wear them. (But this passage has something to do with lesbians during that time, which is a whole other thread, LOL). It has not really been that long ago that it became acceptable for a woman to wear pants. My Mother is 48 and when she was in school, girls had to wear dresses. She actually got sent home one day because she wore pants.
-
Should prostitution be legal?
It used to be also in the Pentacostal church, women couldn't wear pants, couldn't wear makup, and couldn't cut their hair. My mother's grandfather was a pentacostal preacher, and that's how she was raised as well. The rules have changed somewhat, but a lot of churches where I live still believe this way.

May 2008 Slow Losers
I have never done weight watchers either, but I think a lot of people here have. I don't think there's anything wrong with it. I have done South Beach in the past and I would love to do it again now if I could get more motivated to.
