  1. I totally agree with you. It seems that patty takes over every thread and turns EVERYTHING into a religious debate. I don't agree with her views at all. She gives all christians a bad name. So how about we all put her on ignore and then we will all get along just fine?!! :ihih:
  2. I seem to have less flare ups now than I used to. But I did have a pretty bad one a few months ago. But I don't think it was band related.
  3. Well, I think patty is an extremist. We aren't all like that I swear!
  4. Calling someone's beliefs "absurd nonsense" and "silliness" is not right to me. I don't believe in how athiests or jews or catholics believe, but I have respect for them, and I would never call their beliefs (or nonbelief's) absurd nonsense or silly. I believe that is crossing the line.
  5. I have had IBS all my life. I was also worried that the band would make it worse. But it is actually better. I still have some diarrhea and constipation, but I feel great otherwise.
  6. Yea, my aunt thought it was on the outside of your body!
  7. There seems to be a lot of christian bashing on here. I thought we were all supposed to respect each other's belief's (or nonbeliefs), so when did it become acceptable to bash the christian belief? I understand why some of you feel the way you do about christianity because of the way patty talks to people. I don't like her anymore than the rest of you, and I don't like how she judges people and the way she talks to people. But please try to understand, the way patty is is NOT the way true christians act.
  8. Oh no! Luckly I haven't had any problems other than being too tight.
  9. LOL! My aunt actually thought the same thing! She thought the band would be on the outside of my stomach!!
  10. Thanks, I feel so much better since I have lost weight. I have so much more energy. My husband is a little better now than he was, but he is very old fashioned and he doesn't think it is natural to have a band. He doesn't understand food addiction at all. He used to think that I should still be able to eat as much as I could before and he would get mad when I didn't. But I have had the band a year, and now he doesn't really say anything. I will admit that it has been very hard to have him be so nonsupportive. I think that's one reason I stay here so much.
  11. I don't plan on having it removed once I reach goal, or anytime, unless something goes wrong of course. Think of it this way, once you get pregnant and have a baby, how will you lose that weight if you don't have the band? I have heard from a lot of people on here who say that the reason they got the band was because they gained during pregnancies and couldn't get the weight off.
  12. My husband is the same way. He can eat whatever he wants. He doesn't know what it's like to have a food addiction. Just hang in there and whatever you do, don't let him talk you out of it!
  13. Thanks, I was not aware she had died. I thought she was responding to treatment.
  14. BJean, did green die? I hadn't heard.
  15. Their is NO absorbtion isuues! Please don't listen to that! I was told the same thing by a doctor, I found a new doctor ASAP! Depo is evil! You can go back to your pills!
  16. I'm finally in onederland after about 12.5 months. It has been very slow, but I am happy as well. Some people like their band to be really tight, and that's fine, but I don't like it really tight. I know I probably eat a little more than a cup during a meal, but that is fine with me. I don't want to be PBing and getting stuck all the time either. And I try to eat now the way I will when I get to goal, because let's face it, most people don't stick to 1 cup of food per meal when they get to goal.
  17. 105 pounds lost in one year is not slow to me! That's great!
  18. I agree that what patty said was insensitive. My sister has one child. But she has lost 3 babies, including one that was born dead.
  19. patty, you are delusional. Girls are starting their periods younger and younger. I started mine at 11, but my Mom and sister both started theirs at 9. I have also known a lot of girls who started theirs at 7 or 8. It is not uncommon anymore. Also, just because a girl has gone through puberty and has a period does not mean she can become pregnant. It takes about a year after a girl starts her period before her body can actually become pregnant. I know since you are a CNA that you think you know everything about human bodies, but you should really do your research before you post such inaccurate information. Also, like someone else said, the female body is not developed enough to carry a baby below the age of about 19. Just because girls used to have babies at 13 and 14 doesn't mean their bodies were ready. That's one reason why so many girls died in child birth. Actually, a girls body is not even ready for sex until she is about 18 or 19. And that is physically ready, not to mention, she is not even mentally ready for sex and pregnancy. That is a whole other topic.
  20. Yes, of course people had sex with relatives! I don't know why patty would say otherwise. But that was old testament law. It wasn't considered wrong then. But you see, when Jesus came in the New testament, he made new laws. People were supposed to follow the new testament after Jesus came. I believe the only thing from the old testament that still applied was the 10 commandments. That's one reason why I don't understand why some religions don't eat pork. That was old testament law. Jesus said we could eat any kind of meat we wanted. But some still go by that old testament law about not eating swine. And yes, people did marry girls under 18. But the life expectancy wasn't very old back then, so I guess they weren't considered children, I don't know. There's the Bible lesson for today!!
  21. I was sexually abused at 10. I know exactly how you feel. I used to feel the same way about sex. I wouldn't even let a boy touch me when I was a teenager. I agree with rodriguezequal, it helped me to be in control.
  22. I think you can eat it or apply it...
  23. I also had an exboyfriend who did the surprise attack. But he was the first guy I ever had sex with, so I just thought it was normal and that everyone did it! I have slept with about 10 guys since then, and surpisingly, none of the others ever asked for it. I never liked it, so I have never tried to do it again. I also made it clear when my husband and I got together that I wouldn't be doing it. I never thought women liked it, but my husband says that there are women who will beg for it!! Good note about the hygiene issue.
  24. I have read the Bible many times, thank you. I have not read where the Bible states that it is wrong. As with many things, the Bible is not clear on a lot of topics, abortion included. By the way, I read a story today about a study that was done recently that stated that girls who attend religious schools were more likely to have an abortion than girls attending public schools. I will try to find the link.
  25. Yea, we can all use very unreliable methods of birth control, that will solve it!! Or we can wait until we are married to have sex and use no birth control at all and then have 15 kids like our granparents did!! By the way, I am a christian and I believe in the right to choose.
