I was molested when I was 10 by an uncle. I never told anyone at the time. When I was 14, I told my boyfriend about it. I found out later that my uncle also molested my sister and many other family members. He is still alive, but barely. He is a worthless drunk. I don't feel sorry for him, and I will be relieved when he dies. I never told anyone mostly because I knew it would kill my Dad and I was afraid of what he might do. Funny thing is, my uncle now lives with my Dad. I would love for everyone to know what he did to me and many others, but my Dad is 72 with heart problems, so there's no way I would tell anyone right now. I have 2 half sisters and 2 half brothers. Their step father molested them and countless others. He tried to molest me when I was 12. He asked if he could kiss me, and I said no. That was the end of it with me, but I never spent the night there again because I knew it would happen sooner or later if I didn't stay away. Not too long ago, one of the girls he molested (now grown) told on him for molesting her. My sisters told their mom that he had also molested them. Their mom left him for awhile, but she went back to him a few months later. My brothers and sisters act like it is no big deal. They have even left their children alone with him several hundred times. I'm sure he has molested them countless times as well. Now my oldest sister is adding on to her house so he can move in with her. When I heard about that, all I could say was WTF??? She even has small grandchildren. I really don't understand how you could leave children around a man who molested you and countless others. There was another girl that reported him to the police awhile back, but they never even did anything to him. And patty, I hate to be the one to tell you this, but your son and nephew were probably molested by that man you think needs to be forgiven. The kids are probably just too afraid to tell you the truth. When I was little, a gilr reported my uncle to the police and they came and ask me if he had ever done anything to me. I lied and told her no. Most kids are too ashamed to admit it. I also think you should have gone to the police. As someone else stated, the police can and will arrest someone just for attempting to molest.

I agree with what jachut said. I also have a huge problem with head hunger. The band doesn't help with that, so you just have to deal with it the best you can. I also agree with what everyone said about exercise. I honestly don't know how people lose and keep the weight off without it.

You WILL eat things again, trust me! Sometimes when I don't have any restriction and need a fill, I can eat anything. In some ways that's a good thing, in other ways it's a bad thing.

Well, I am the opposite. My period was just fine before I had surgery. Now that I have lost almost 60 pounds my period is crazy. I have had bleeding on and off for months. One month I will have a period and the next I won't. I also have a lot of spotting. My Dr. just changed my birth control pills so hopefully it will help. The doctor said once we get to goal weight, everything should straighten out. I sure hope so.

That's a good question. I grew up dirt poor, so I'm gonna have to say rich and fat.

I don't think that's a good idea. Your body will go into starvation mode and you won't be able to lose at all. Have you tried upping exercise? Or maybe you need a fill?

I don't have a problem with sweet potaotes. I haven't tried the sweet potato fries though. I saw them on a menu and wanted to try them, but I was afraid they would get stuck.

Michael Jackson was a little before my time, but I do remember my older sisters doing the moon walk to his music. I don't know if he molested those boys or if their parents told them to say that so they would get a lot of money. But my question is, how did the boy describe his penis? I guess I'm missing something because I thought they all looked the same?! HA HA!!

I live in TN, and it is hot as you know what here too. I don't know if the heat makes it tighter, but when it is hot, I just can't eat much anyway.

I have no problem with popcorn. I can't eat fries anymore either. I recently tried Captain D's baked fish and it is really good.

Thanks! I understand what you are saying though about being older. It does make it a lot harder to exercise. I am only 31 but I have bad knees too. I'm guessing from all the weight they have had to carry all these years. I didn't really have a weight problem until I was about 18 and got out on my own. It seemed like the pounds just kept piling on each year until I got to 260 pounds. I wasted my 20s being fat, I'm determined not to waste my 30s and the rest of my life being fat and miserable!

I think you are being very biased. I think it depends on the person's attitude more than the age. I don't think I would have been successful if I would have had the band when I was younger because of my mindset. But that doesn't mean other people who are younger than me won't succeed just because I might not have. Yes, it is true that your metabolism slows the older you get, but there are ways to speed metabolism up, especially with exercise. And the part about younger people being more active is not always true. I know plenty of people younger than me who sit around on video games all day. So success depends on more than just someone's age.

I don't understand the white bashing either. You even see it in moves a lot. Another thing too, is skinny bashing. I'm sure everyone here has been talked about for being too fat, but my husband has experienced it from the other side as well. He is very tall and naturally very thin. I can't tell you how many people tell him how skinny he is and make jokes about it. He hates it. It hurts him just as much to be made fun of for being thin as it does for us to be made fun of for being fat.

I know what you mean. When we all go out with my brother who is mixed, we get dirty looks too. It is really funny when my mom and stepdad, who are both white, are with him out somewhere. You can imagine what people are thinking! Sometimes it is quite funny!

True, but we don't know that it was racism either, so we can't really say. I just know from personal experience that racism is still a huge problem.

Well, I think the OP was just stating her feelings and her opinion about the situations. I don't think she was looking for anyone to prove that it was racism!

True. What really bothers me is when other white people make racist remarks or tell me racist jokes. It's like it's ok to say things like that to me just because I am white too.

I couldn't agree with you more. Discrimination is discrimination, no matter what it's based on.

I just think racism is just as bad today as it has ever been. No, we don't have segregation anymore, but it is still bad. I once had an exboyfriend break up with me when he found out I had a mixed brother. For no other reason, he said he couldn't handle it. I work with a black doctor. He's one of the nicest people I have ever met. But I can't tell you how many patients don't want to see him and wish to be moved to another provider's schedule just because he is black. And I am not assuming that, I have actually had patients tell me that. For some reason, they seem to think it's ok to tell me that since I am white.
