Today is my 100th day post-op. The surgery was on January 5th.

I don't post much, but from what I've seen and read it appears this group is doing amazingly well. The pictures that many of you have published documenting your transformation are truly inspiring.

At my last weigh in on December 21, 2016 at the doctor's office, I topped the scale at 326. A week later I began the one-week pre-op diet at 322. On the day of surgery I checked in at 309.

100 days later and fresh off a doctor visit yesterday, I am checking in at 247 pounds. There is still a long ways to go, but this is a 79 pound reduction since the first day of winter. Couple that with the elimination of all Type II diabetes medications and the vital signs returning to normal levels, you can't beat.

    it.

    Hi all
Yesterday was my post op apt and my doctor gave me the green light to move to stage 3 foods. I need some advice on what to eat since he did not give me any help on what my daily meals should look like. Also he said I should be eating around 800 calories. Does that seem high for 3 weeks post op?
I would gladly love some advice on what my daily meals should be and calories!
I have lost 16.4 since surgery.
    Thanks so much!

I am actually on soft foods. So I can eat regular food but only soft. That is why I am surprised I don't feel full

    hey bud
at 3 weeks you are probably still on liquids
liquids usually will not give you that full feeling
as time passes, you will start to eat solids and get
that "full" feeling - at that point one sign of being
full is you will sneeze, or hiccup/burp
way back when..... my hubby would yell to me
"oink oink, piggy" cuz he could here my different
sounds/noises when i was full!! LOL oh well, gotta love him !!!
doc told me to eat till i'm full, then stop 2 bites earlier
follow all the rules, especially eat and drink sssssslowly
    good luck

Hi I would eat lots of yogurt ,
some cottage cheese didn't love that,
    soft scrambled egg,
I tried purée meats with veggies
    but didn't really love that
I also tried steamed fish but found that hard to digest.
    Mashed avocado
    Refried Beans
    Mashed banana
    That's about it I think

I've heard no complaints from people who eat a vegan diet even if only before and after surgery people can tolerate these foods better than meats & dairy.

Juice=sugar, and worse, the spike and drop in blood sugar will make you hungry, and the juice won't fill you up.

    Eat real food.< br>

Whoa whoa stay calm hahaha. This is natural and normal. If you did not hit stalls like this you would be a medical marvel
Understand that while we all think our bodies are special snowflakes they are all pretty much the same. While your focus should be on getting in as much Protein as you can comfortably stomach if I had to take a guess right now you may simply be retaining a lot of Water weight.
I know when I was in my liquid stage I hit a few stalls and then suddenly would be 5 lbs lighter one day. A lot of that changed when I began to look at my sodium levels (which were astronomical by the way even on the restricted diet).
Also like other people have mentioned as hard as it might be maybe looking at the scale weekly would be a better option. This may ease your mind because there are multiple variables that can skew numbers when looking at the scale daily. Everything tends to balance out over a week a lot better.
Good luck and trust the process.

I would say so. You get soo many nutrients you would never be able to eat. If you put some Protein Powder in it you could get your Protein too. Much better than a premade Protein Drink

I had sleeve surgery on March 14th and am already experiencing a stop in weight loss. I lost 6 lbs so far and the last 3 days nothing. I am still on the full liquid diet so I don't even eat food. It makes me kind of scared to start eating because I may start gaining. Can anyone relate???

Stop weighing yourself every day, pick a day of the week then weigh once a week. The same day every week. Now with this being said, your body is trying to hold on to everything right now bc we are not giving our body anything in return. Our bodies are in shock right now and does not know what to do. The first month or so after surgery weight loss should not be your concern. It should be about healing and taking care of your body and getting ready for this life changing event. Stay off the scale everyday! You will not lose anything stressing your already stressed out body.

It's funny, we were fat for years but after surgery we want that instant gratification. Have some patience. You'll have to get rid of the excess fluids and then start being regular and it will happen.
The hard part for the coming month or two will be the flood of hormones making you emotional. The feelings of failure and "it's not going to work" are normal. Search the forums for hormones and you'll find tons of posts with people feeling the same as you.

Right now, you need to focus on meeting your Protein and Water goals. Nothing about your weight is likely to be accurate for the first month or so. Stay off of the scale. Post-op life is HARD WORK. Take this time to settle into it, and the weight loss will come as a result of your efforts.

I know how you feel. Believe me it will start coming off. It took about 2 months before people really started to notice and I was getting mad. But today, 3 months post, down 40lbs down and feeling great! I'm actually at a stall and starting to get discouraged again but thank god for this blog! Good luck and just follow your NUTs plan and you will sicken remember too, your tummy had major surgery. So you need to heal. The phase your in for a bit is healing.

    Thanks Nancy

I felt the exact same way. I'm almost 4 weeks post op, and at the same point you are I was really discouraged. Especially when I was able to start puréed food (1 week post op). I felt the the tiny amount I was eating was keeping me from losing. But I stuck with it and my doctors instructions and the weight is coming off now. Good luck to you and hang in there it will get better soon!

I was sleeved 3/15 and scale has been bouncing up and down by 2 lbs so I haven't really lost anything. Needless to say I'm super pissed because like you I'm on a full liquid diet and if I can't lose weight killing myself on this strict diet then how am I going to lose anything?! My inner two year old has been having tantrums about this since a week out. I keep thinking if I have to literally kill myself to lose weight what was the point of having my stomach removed. I'm also not happy because I feel bottomless, feel no restriction with liquids since day 1 and I was really looking forward to having difficulty eating. I think the people that do have difficulty early on are the ones losing weight. Either that or they're extremely lucky because I have been following my programs instructions perfectly and am stuck at the same weight.
