I don't get it.. you want someone to cater to your surgery and your diet restrictions, but don't want to explain anything.
This is why I never cared for the dating scene. Too many people expecting mind readers.
Communication (or lack thereof) is by far the biggest reason relationships/friendships of any kind fail. It's so much easier to just be up front and honest. Why people wish to play around and complicate things/make things more difficult is beyond me, but not my problem.

Most of my pre-op diet has been a modified Keto diet. Difference is, not nearly as much fat.

If it was poison people would be literally dying from it, and the companies would be sued out of existence with how much their products are consumed. Brominated vegetable oil is an emulsifier. It's a poison like many other things we consume ONLY if in high concentration. You kinda left out that convenient fact. Cherries and almonds have cyanide.. going to say they're poison? What you just espoused is logic identically used to suggest vaccinations are dangerous. Conspiracies and exaggerations help no one.

PatientEleventyBillion got a reaction from cbf in A1C before surgery...
As others said your glycated hemoglobin type A1C being that high is a very good indicator for the necessity of this surgery.
If adequate changes are made and no improvements after a handful of months occur, and it's acquired Type 2, I'd then be a bit concerned.
My peak HBA1c was 7.9 (well in the range of diabetic), it lowered over the last several months and as of June it was 4.9, making me completely non-diabetic, and I've been off all diabetes meds for months with very good blood sugar.
It's quite amazing how forgiving the body is.

I only had anxiety (panic attacks at night) due to sleep apnea. I was prescribed Cipralex I believe it was (the generic of it was escitalopram). Once the apnea was gone didn't need it any more and have been off. My situation was a lot more straight forward. For many others, it's a lot more complicated with the brain is wired. I'd keep expectations to a minimum and just do your best.

Thank you, I've actually got quite a few PM's from a number of posters (pretty much all religious people) who wanted to voice their support for my original post without being flamed. Not worried at all, I think those who aren't overly sensitive (or trying to make a scene as if that makes them more religiously devout) understood the message of personal empowerment and responsibility (not religion bashing) just fine.

It's comedic that overly sensitive people would find that post bashing, when it's genuine advice about self-empowerment and making good choices rather than pushing that off on others to make. If that advice triggers you, seek help. I certainly am not going to change who I am because some snowflakes can't handle blunt advice that's not disrespectful whatsoever.
And to the above, I'm not an atheist, but here's a trophy for your effort.

Don't rely on God.. rely on yourself. Do everything you can personally do to make your surgery safer. Make sure you're on a healthy liver shrinking pre-op diet low in carbs and high in Protein, make sure your blood pressure and HR are under control.. make sure you've researched who the surgeon is, their post-op program, etc., and got feedback from others to elevate the chances of success. "God" won't do that for you. It's all up to you.

I had forgotten about this forum, I came back to laugh at this.
    - Posts an opinion
    - Some people get upset (it happens)
    - Guy is so incensed he bumps thread angrily giving opinion on how irrelevant my post is (lol?)
    - I'll chalk that up to simply being dumb. One fish in a sea of them.
Best of luck overcoming those issues man. (my nice way of saying pound sand)
(For others here, I hope however you find your guidance helps you no matter your beliefs, glad to see so many success stories)

My situation was very familiar. Went on a trip to Cedar Point.. had to use some seatbelt test thingy outside the line. First time in my life I was too fat for theme park rides. What an embarrassing eye opener.
Plan still in the works to go back and get revenge, but absolutely sure now 150+ pounds lost that I fit no problem. Life is great again.

Yes, we are to do our do diligence, but we also rely on God for wisdom, discernment and for His hand to provide. If you don't agree, move on.
Now go outside and find a hug cause it sounds like you need one kid.

Whatever you do as long as its in your own best health interests and doesn't have any negative consequences.
I will say though that food like meat isn't empty calories.. you're thinking of garbage carb slider foods that have no nutritional value. Protein is one of the most essential things your body and muscles need. The opposite of empty.
