Be sure your doctor knows your family history of clots. Blood thinner shots for several days to a couple of weeks after surgery has become very common practice, even more so if there is reason to suspect a high risk patient. Getting up and moving as often as you can post-op is the best thing you as a patient can do to prevent them other than being compliant with the blood thinners if your doc prescribes them.

My grandmother and father in law also have passed from blood clots... They actually gave me a blood thinner to prevent clots... And yes i heard walking walking will help... I had mine 12/19! Some pain and nausea still. I think it's gas pain. I'm getting my fluids in, but have to be very careful about the size of my sips and waiting in between sips. Absolutely no hunger. I'm kind of nervous about eating again. The liquid diet feels like a nice safe space for now.

I was 340 before my pre op liquid diet. 320 at Surgery date. Today I'm 205 since I been building muscle mass. The last pic in the two tone shirt is my most recent pic from late October.

About to go back for my sleeve! Excitement!

Creating a new thread because the other one has gotten really long.
So, here are my before and currents to keep the topic moving.

Current as of last week:

GOOOOAAAALLLLL!!!!!! When I updated my weight this morning..it's 150.4, I guess the little tickers below use rounding so even though I'm .4 over my goal it says I reached my goal today!!! How thrilling is that???!!! At just a little over 7 months I've lost 102 pounds! I am so happy! This is the best Christmas present ever. 150 looks and feels like the perfect weight for me, but I think I'll keep going just a little bit so I'll have a little bit of a cushion....maybe to 145....I think too much more than that I'll start to look sickly.
I'll post some good goal pictures in the next few days.....it's Christmas time so I'm sure I'll have some good ones from some of the family gatherings coming up.
Thank you to everyone here who have been so supportive! Yay! I did it!!!!!

Just put these two pictures together and gradually I can see the weight loss. I may not see the scale moving much but I defiantly notice the inches

Ah!! Quick update!
I am a little over a week out and I'm down 30 pounds!!! Just wanted to share and be joyous!
The weight lost has been done over three weeks so far. Loving my choice!
My stats:
HW: 360
SW: 341
CW: 330

It's been 8 weeks, 2 months, since my surgery and I have lost 47 lbs, and 7 inches off my waist, I wanted to put this up as a motivational reminder to myself.

BRING A EYE/SLEEP MASK TO THE HOSPITAL. When you're in pain you can have more relief when you lower the stimulation from all around you. I brought mine and wore it all the time, got great sleep while getting my rest and IV hydration.

I'm 8 weeks out, only lost 28 lbs. Can't tell much difference yet.

I'm only 5 weeks out but down 35 pounds. You can mostly tell the loss in my face! (From the top left corner to the bottom right corner)

Everyone on this site is, for the most part, very supportive!! You can ask question or just check in at times. Be prepared though that if you ask for approval for something you know is not good for you, you will receive brutally honest, constructive replies!!
