Everyone's poop stinks regardless of whether they've had WLS. Name one individual, bariatric surgery patient or otherwise, who defecates crap that smells like roses and honey.
Obesity has a far worse impact on our lives than strong-smelling fecal matter.

All the Biotin in the world isn't gonna stop it. Lol. I'm on a high dose of it plus I used Biotin Shampoo along with Bosley shampoo. I just gotta ride it out I guess.

    Hi guys!
I get on here every six months or so to update y'all I've never made a topic with progress pictures before, so I thought I would this time, as I've been maintaining below goal for almost a year now.
    SW: 323
    CW: 153
    Size 24/26 to a 4/6
    No skin removal
I ran my first half marathon in February and am running another in November, which is pretty cool! When not in race training mode, I run 3-6 miles, three days per week, and do HIIT style training (heavy weights and cardio) at the gym 2-3 other days per week. I tend to fluctuate between 150-153 lbs, depending on the time of month and just general day to day food/water intake.

I am 5 weeks post op and the gas strips or chewable gas x (the equate brand is just as good, imo, and much less expensive) have been a life saver. It is true that they don't help with the CO2 gas (only walking helps with that) but it does help with actual gas. I used them a lot and still do since I'm still learning what my system can and can't handle. Sometimes I get gas from nothing (but I was that way before surgery too) so those chewable pills really helped and, to me, they don't take up space you need for your shakes and Water. [emoji4]

I'm going to add that I think gas x was a god send for me, there was an insane amount of pressure in my stomach and nothing brought me relief till I got desperate and picked some up. It was the day after surgery and it was super necessary for me. I will second the sugar free popsicles, they helped make me feel human again lol

The point where I knew I wanted surgery last year was when I went to the opening of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Hollywood, CA and I couldn't ride Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. It was so embarrassing, I went with some girls from work and because my restraint didn't make that third click, they quickly ushered us off the ride to a tester seat, no one knew what was going on (except me) and I finally had to YELL at the team member just to let them ride without me. Because literally no one knew what was going on and I just kept saying "just let them ride" and they were like "no no let's just check really quick" and I just said "please just let them go" and they were like "let's just check to make sure " and I finally just blew up and said "CAN YOU PLEASE JUST LET THEM GO!" Everyone was so understanding about it but it definitely put a damper on the rest of the trip (it made it incredibly awkward for all of us).
I always feared going back, out of heartbreak and just being traumatized by the whole experience. A couple weeks ago I learned a few friends wanted to go check it out and out of fear I almost bailed, but today my sister and I went to check if I could (I've lost 45lbs since that incident, so ya never know) and BOOM, fit with NO ISSUES! A team member overheard my excitement (I was crying) and he gave me a front of the line pass so I didn't have to wait in line! It was one of the most magical moments of my life, makes all the pain and hardships worth it!

Stalls are common and happen frequently. Talk to your doctor if you're concerned, but I stalled after a week as well and stayed that way until about 3 weeks out. My Weightloss tends to happen in intervals, like I'll be stuck at the same weight FOREVER then I suddenly lose 10lbs in two weeks

So I am just about a year out since my surgery. Had it on May 23rd of 2016.
Far and away I can say this was the BEST decision that I have ever made in my life. My highest weight was 433 lbs with my surgery weight at 397 lbs. Proud to say just about a year after surgery I currently weigh 194 pounds. 203 pounds down since the surgery and 241 down overall.
I literally cannot even tell you how much this has changed my life for the better. I am posting this because I want everyone to know that if I did it you can too. If anyone has literally any questions at all for me please don't hesitate to reach out. I

I feel you about your sister telling people . My sister and I used to work together, then I transitioned into another job. I'm still friendly with a lot of my previous coworkers and she went to town telling everyone! I was so frustrated, especially since the people I've told are sworn to secrecy. I've told 6 people, 6! So far my mom has admitted to me she told 1 person and my sister hasn't been shy discussing it. Only 3 people at work know, and they're incredibly trust worthy, I'm very fortunate they haven't said anything.
Honestly though, I'm 3 month post op and nearly 40lbs down, no one has really noticed? I think it's because my coworkers and I see each other every day, so it's not like suddenly I'm a brand new person. 1 person has asked what I'm doing, I just say low carb and strict Portion Control (which is the truth).

When you are paying for you own surgery, you look for price first and research later. I have been researching for a year now. I am ready. I understand the positive and the negatives of the surgery. And in my case the positives outweigh the negatives. If people are willing to take their lives in their hands and travel to Mexico for surgery. There are many accredited and highly skilled surgeons in United States offering low rates. They do these surgeries everyday. It just so happens in my home state prices for self-pay at bariatric surgery are very high. So yes I will travel to another state for surgery if it saves me money .

    Hello everyone!
I usually don't create a whole topic just for myself, but today is a little special since it has been exactly one year since I've had my surgery, time sure flies, especially when you go through a physical change of this ... magnitude.
In a year, I have indeed lost 53kilos (117pounds according to google). I never thought I would look like I do today and I am really glad I took the dicision of having my gastric sleeve, it has helped my health (no more sleep apneas! I can swim and bike again!), it has changed my perspective toward food (I actually prefer eating now since I don't hate myself after each meal anymore), I have changed my life habits in many ways and last but not least, I feel way happier nowadays.
Here are so before after after pics
    Before:

And these after some after pictures:

So, yeah, voilà! Good luck for everyone! I know the first months are quite hard, but it was all worth it for me, and I could not be more glad about the results!
    Have a great day
