  1. I understand this. I scanned a Walgreens backwall security mirror for myself and it was like Where's Waldo. My husband died laughing and asked me if I understood how mirrors worked.
  2. I spent years suffering with periods that are similar to what you are describing and my GYN had me on Progesterone therapy to assist. Do not wait to call them, they will tell you the signs to look for to be sure that you are not hemorrhaging. I second, the Always Infinity overnights.
  3. I know this feeling all too well, I've lost on average 11lbs a month since being sleeved. I wish it were more, but I can't be mad at that. This entire process as me down 70lbs in 9 months. 70lbs that I no longer have to carry on my body and mind. I've lost a whole lot more than weight, too! I've lost apprehensions, inhibitions, and some fear. Think positively, it'll all be good.
  4. Is this your first stall? I'm almost at 14 weeks and I have to tell you that this last long one was my third. I had one that lasted almost 12 days. I called my nutritionist and they told me I was getting too few calories. If you're concerned, follow up with your team.
  5. I was sleeved in October. My best advice is just to make good decisions and live your life as close as you expect to live it after the surgery. This helped me tremendously and allowed me to experience a smoother transition.
  6. So excited for you! I started at 290, so my first big benchmark was 250. I hadn't seen 250 before I had kids and my eldest is almost 13. I'm hanging in for One-derland and seeing amazing milestones like yours, just keeps my eye on the prize. Thank you for sharing.
  7. Thank you. I do feel amazing I was more than happy to drop his weight too. I' not sure what my body will look like because I do exercise too but what ever it is has to be better than the excess weight and I will embrace it. We were sleeved around the same time congrats on your weight loss as well and Good luck on your journey Sleeve Buddies!!!
  8. Once you've gotten through a couple of stalls it will not feel as scary. I had a 7 day stall that ended just last week and resulted in my losing 3lbs in 3 days. Just do what your supposed to do and your body will follow suit. Worrying just makes you feel powerless and miserable. Enjoy how far you've come already and rejoice when the weight starts falling off again.
  9. First of all, you look great! Secondly, you look like you feel amazing. Thirdly, what a giant ******! Pardon my French. Who cares about if your body is going to be a mess, that weight that holds you down is gone and your life is going to be great without that boxer weight that's trying to hold you back! Congrats and Good Luck!
  10. Have a great day! The best day ever...even though it might not feel like it right away
  11. My psych eval was a joke. It was a rundown of my weight history and I had to fill out a form. I thought it would've been more.
  12. I am so glad to hear that this has been your experience. I find that overall this group is very supportive and informative.
  13. Sounds like a stall. I had one about 2-3 weeks in. Hang in there! It'll start moving.
  14. Whenever I have a stall that lasts longer than I think it should, I always call the nutritionist first, then the surgeon if I get no response. At one point, the nut told me I wasn't getting enough calories, I increased and started losing within a couple days.
  15. Ok, today is my 13 week surgiversary and weight loss in the last few weeks has put me at a stall. I started losing again about two days ago and I am officially 61lbs down. This is not my exciting news. The exciting part is that my primary doc just updated all my blood work and My A1c came in at 6.0, which is (barely)considered normal/non-diabetic. I have been off my diabetic meds for 15 weeks. I used to take a pill twice a day and a shot once a week, but for the time being I'm off all medication! There has also been a reduction in my cholesterol of 26 points! Thank you to all of you who keep me encouraged. Also sharing a before and current pic!
  16. I can relate, food is literally like a drug to me.After a full work week, I want to reward myself with pizza and wings on a Friday night. Instead of getting drunk or high like I used to, now I want to EAT. I sometimes find myself fantasizing about what I am going to eat next. So, I am afraid I won't get approved for Gastric Sleeve. You have 6 months to get to the point that they will approve you. Utilize that time to change and there will be no turning back!
  17. Photos of myself pre-surgery reduce me to tears every time. Even when I see them now. Breaks my heart. Keeps me in check, now. Let us know how it goes with the surgeon!
  18. Welcome! I hope it will be as informative for you as it has been for me.
  19. @@Walter.Sobchak I understand your concern about addiction transference. One whole meeting with the nutritionist was on this subject. I would've never considered myself a food addict, because I didn't eat myself into oblivion and I ate normal size meals. I learned however, that I definitely used food to cope with my life. What I ate, when I allowed myself to snack... The food addiction dawned on me when I realized that it made me feel different. That eating literally comforted me. I understand your concerns. It may not be easy, but if it's something that you want, work towards it. No fear.
  20. Truly inspiring. I have been doing 5ks for about 3 years. I decided earlier this month that I was going to complete a 10k, a 15k, and a half marathon before the end of November.
  21. Most people start seeing post-op hair loss around 3-4 months post-op. Mine started right around 3.5 months out and lasted about two months. The causes for hair loss in WLS patients are anesthesia, rapid weight loss, malnutrition, and stress. Not every WLS patient experiences all four of those causes, but even one of them can cause some hair loss. I had double hernia surgery almost a year to the day of my WLS and I've had two C-sections. I did experience hair loss with all three, but nothing that I would call significant. I have good hair. I want to keep it. LOL. I'll gladly take the trade off any day.
  22. I've been curious if I will see hair loss. I'm 13 weeks out and I haven't lost anything significant at this point. I was on a ketogenic diet for 3 months prior to surgery and I did experience a significant thinning from that. I have been hoping that maybe all the effects happened pre-surgery. Any thoughts?
