  1. 88 and 78 are normal lows. If you are having 37 and 47, call your doctor immediately. Falling below 70 is dangerous and when you can start to feel symptoms from hypoglycemia. Not trying to scare you, but those lower numbers are scary. Report them as soon as possible.
  2. go into your account at the top of the screen and add a ticker. How low is low?
  3. I am a diabetic for 15 years. I went from metformin twice a day and an insulin booster shot (not insulin) once a week to nothing post surgery. That's how quickly my blood sugar went to normal levels. By my 3 month follow up my A1C was a 5.9. Let your docs know about the drops by calling their office. They will likely taper you off the drugs. There is nothing you can do to prevent the lows while on medication.
  4. My question is how do you know you are having low blood sugar? You said no history, but is that of hypoglycemia? Are you diabetic or on any diabetic medications?
  5. I like Crystal Light - most flavors. I drink a lot of Vitamin Water Zero Rise Flavor. I also drink G2 Grape or Raspberry Lemonade.
  6. I had the sleeve 5 months ago and it was the best decision ever, No regrets. No looking back.
  7. I was married at the beginning of April in 1999. One of our wedding gifts were season passes to Six Flags over St. Louis. At the time, we were young and actually lived in the same town as the amusement park, so we were so excited to be able to just pop over whenever we wanted. The first time we processed our passes, we headed directly to Batman the Ride. Back in the day, the seatbelts attached to the overhead locking mechanism clipped in between the legs. As we were trying to get on, it was evident that my seat would not close. The kid working the ride asked me to hold on. He pushed it tight against me by using his feet against the seat in front of me and clipped me in, at the same time, my fat legs were clipped into the locking clip. I was in terrible pain and terribly embarrassed, so I didn't say a word. I endured the ride with it's twists, turns, and loop de loops. I walked away with a severely bruised inner thigh and and even worsely battered pride. I never rode another amusement park ride. Years passed, I had kids who very badly wanted to go to Six Flags. I decided that I would buy season passes about 4 years ago because I was trying to lose weight and I thought that while I can't ride the rides, it would be a good opportunity to get some exercise and walk around. For the first two seasons, I didn't even try to ride anything. I just walked from ride to ride and held stuff while my hubby would ride with the kiddos. Two years ago, I started my first steps into making a real change in my life. I have always been against weight loss surgery, so I started on a ketogenic diet and started walking like it was my job. I lost about 35lbs, tried to ride Batman, wouldn't close (now the clasp is at the top). I got out, did my walk of shame and moved on. At the end of 2016, my dad told us that he wanted to die. He was retired, 59 years old, in renal failure from refusing to take care of diabetes for years, and three hours a day, three days a week were too much to ask for him to continue his life. We went on a roller coaster of our own for about two months where he would go on hospice, be almost dead, and then freak out and go to the hospital, swear he was going to go to all his appointments, and then go right back on hospice after the first dialysis appointment. In February of 2016, he passed and at the end of that, I had gained 60lbs. At his funeral, I looked at my husband and said, "If there is something that you could do that would save your life, so that you could be there for your family...why wouldn't you?" Duh. Light bulb. 30 days later I was at a seminar and I started the 6 month medically supervised diet and jumping through all the other hoops. I had my vsg on 10/26/2016 and at the beginning of December, I went toe to toe with this elusive beast and was once again denied. ( I needed like an inch) Yesterday, on my 5 month surgiversary, I slayed the dragon! I laughed and cried the whole time. After, I rode every dang ride I could find and I had a blast. (I didn't even realize it was my surgiversary until I started writing this)
  8. I found some great Gloria Vanderbilt crop jeans at Kohl's recently!
  9. At Dress Barn, they are capris. I recently bought some Gloria Vanderbilt "crop" jeans which are also perfect length. I always try them on to be sure, because apparently "capris" is a very loose term. LOL
  10. I have not tried Maurice's and there is one nearby, My inner chubster is taking steps away from the harbor that is Lane Bryant and Torrid. Thanks for the info.
  11. After 3 days and no movement, I started on the Miralax. There was no real reason to be concerned for me, but when nature was ready to call, I didn't want it to be a struggle.
  12. I can't answer your question, but wanted to address your comment regarding the stigma of Bipolar disorder. I have been with my husband for 24 years, 10 years ago he was diagnosed as bipolar. I was terrified because of everything I had seen on TV and movies regarding it. We were together 14 years prior to diagnosis and the doctor tells us and all of a sudden I'm scared? I hate how they only portray SEVERE disturbing cases and not the everyday Joe. Truth is that on meds, his behavior is more even keeled and he enjoys his life more. When he is happier, everyone is happier. Thank you for telling your story. We don't keep his illness a secret because we want to be part of destroying the stigma. I hope everything goes well for you and you have a support here, whenever you need it.
  13. Yep. Really. I'm 5'2" with a 24 inch inseam. LOL. Even regular jean shorts fit like a cargo style.
  14. I will check this out, but if they're expensive like you mentioned I'll just keep looking. LOL
  15. I know this will sound crazy, but I'm just so overjoyed with being able to find anything that fits I have to stay out of the stores. I won't shop online because it gives me anxiety. I have been in them more and more because of the Capri hunt and I'm dreading the impending bills...lol
  16. Most capris fit me like regular pants, so they're pretty much my jam. I bought some skirts last year when I was pre-op, but losing on my own. I'll probably do a bit of that as well. Maybe even dresses if I can find some super cute A-line styles. I've gone from a 28 to 18/20 in 4 months so I'm not trying to buy too much. I just gave away my last pair of 28's that I have still been limping along in and I have a nice tailored pair of 26, but they have to go as well. I'm just tired of my clothes making me look sloppy, so I am trying to find more fitted stylish clothing instead of "I guess I'll buy this cause it fits." LOL
  17. I totally do not cheap material for work. Do you know what brand? I can sometimes find the George line at my Wal-Mart, but not always.
  18. Can't afford to pay the extra $$ $75 for a pair of petite pants at Lane Bryant that are 12 inches too long require more than just hemming, they practically have to be rebuilt. I appreciate the thought, but this is a fashion industry problem. Petite is 5'4" and under. At 5'2" Petite pants should not be 12in too long. At any rate...buying the capris once a year works great most of the time, but after WLS, there's too much change to dole out that kind of moolah.
  19. Nope. Still too long.
  20. Ok ladies under 5'4" If you're like me it's really close to "Pants - Buying Season" You know, that one time of year when you can buy Capris because they fit you like long pants for the ENTIRE year. This has been a major problem for me since I had VSG on 10/26/2016. Either way... Dress Barn has black "dressy" capris already on sale for $32.00 a pair. I bought them in a 20 and an 18 cause we all know the struggle. I don't seem to struggle to find jeans in the same way that I do with work appropriate attire, so...if you have the scoop on where to find these elusive wonders...please add or hit a sister up.
  21. I could give you a line, but truth is...it was just me...constantly reminding myself WHY I was doing itself. Of course, it was also me talking myself out of the McDonalds Drive Thru.
  22. My surgeon gave me a PPI to take as needed.
  23. The customer service reps are used to this type of question and they can get you to the right person. I have UHC, but I got my answers that way.
  24. I'm 16 weeks out and I eat 6 meals a day. I will go hangry mad with anything less. LOL
