I am still a couple months out from Surgery. So every day that I am routing around in my closet trying to find something that fits, I dream about the future when I am pulling everything out and putting it in bags for donation. I imagine my closet to be empty! There is no point in having more than the bare minimum until the weight stops coming off.
I would love to hear about how you manage your wardrobe and would love to see some pictures :-)

I did just that a month ago. Luckily I have always had clothes in a size 6-20. As I've dropped I've been mercilessly donating the big clothes, the second they start to look big. Before Christmas I pulled out all my clothing bins and went through them. Of the smaller clothes I ditched the stuff that was ordinary etc, and kept my favorite pieces and a couple pairs of pants/skirts in each size. My mother in law has inherited a lot and usually gets a new set of clothes from me every month or so. She started complaining that she has no excuse to shop. I also found an amazing sale and bought things like jeans in the next 3 sizes down, same with a sweater I love that was only $7. Got it in medium, small and extra small.

I added in more fat to my diet, not more carbs or sugary foods. So, have a couple of slices of avocado with dinner, have almond butter instead of PB2 with my yogurt, eat full fat yogurt instead of nonfat, add some shredded cheese to my usual lunch salad of chopped chicken breast and green veggies -- things that I could do without eating significantly bigger meals or eating more carbs or sugar.
To the extent that I do eat some higher carb foods, I focus on whole grains and things that I am not going to start to "graze" on. So, no to crackers or Cookies or anything like that. Instead, I occasionally have hot oat bran Cereal (100% oat bran, no sugar or sweeteners of any kind) for Breakfast. I like it, and it is good for me, but it isn't like I'm going to make a giant pot of oat bran mush and eat it all day long.

I was thinking about saying that I needed to have a portion of my bowel removed. My coworkers won't ask, but if I have a "mystery surgery", then loose 80 pounds in 6 months, they will know. The bowel issues could explain the weight loss to follow. I have a BMI of 37 and want my surgery to be private.

I really am fully back on track now. Just finally finished the last project on my new condo at 10:00 last night. So now there is just cleaning and unpacking to do, which I can do in small doses. All the bit painting and construction-type stuff is out of the way now. (Side note: if you are ever thinking about replacing all of the doors in your home, don't!)
I'm back at work today and my divorce should be finalized tomorrow, so time for things to all settle back down. I planned out my training schedule for my half marathon in April. I will need to start it Jan. 23, but hoping to at least get some short runs in between now and then to get my endurance back up to where it needs to be to start training.

But you complained about $3. I don't get it. The time it would take me to complain would cost me more than $3. Time is worth more than money.
I feel like you are fresh from surgery, hormonal and making a big deal out of nothing. I'm not saying that to be mean or anything. I did something similar post op. I'm just saying get some perspective and move on. It is not worth it.
This is why I don't ask for special treatment in restaurants or expect them to lose money on my orders.

I agree with @theantichick. If a guy gets to the point of having sex with you and the skin is a bone killer than you didn't need that relationship anyway. Anyone worth a damn won't hesitate. Theantichick has a great point about making you feel better though, lingerie is nice! Honestly I enjoy the mystery of lingerie during sex. Completely naked is fine by me but some lace and high heels does more for me than just a birthday suit. I have a sneaking suspicion that your smile, attitude and simply how cute you are will overcome any issues that you are concerned about.

My insurance paid for a complete Tummy Tuck, with the exception of the reconstruction of my belly button because that was not considered medically necessary, so I paid $2,200 for a belly button :-)

I can see a difference! You seem to be shrinking pretty evenly all over which is harder to see at first.
Someone described it to me this way once: Think of yourself like a brand new roll of paper towels. When you start tearing sheets off, the size of the roll doesn't change much at all. But as you get down to the end of the roll, taking a sheet or two off makes a huge difference in how full the roll looks. Over time the changes are going to much more noticeable quickly.

No, I don't think you have a right to get mad. If the visit as even more than 2 hours people want food. If you set out ground rules that you would only come if there wasn't food involved, that would be different. I fully expect to have to turn down, make excuses or arise late/after dinner to make my new life style work once I get there. And I know it will be hard and awkward.

Thanks everyone. I am reshaping how I look at food but I think it was an extra hard challenge being on the liquid diet. I just can't wait to chew something again.

You could do that, or cut out salt and do a 24 hour liquid day to give you a taste of what's to come. That could work too!

I sat down and figured it out trying to estimate low at my savings. I came up at $320 a month without factoring in clothes. The only thing that changed is that I can't drink plain Water so I mix Powerade Zero 50/50 with water. The Powerade is $.80 each for a 32oz. Now I'm at about $300 a month savings between eating out, my old ice tea habit and the medications that I no longer need. $4400 for the sleeve, $472 for the flights means that in just over 16 months it has paid for itself as long as I choose to be naked.

I have a few links here that discuss the various mechanisms involved:

On the ever advancing field of epigenetics, or how gene expressions are altered by diet, weight loss and excercise:

Regarding the claim that there is a 3-4 year period before your genotype adjusts towards that of a non obese person, I learned that from a podcast with a bariatric physician who treats 15,000+ patients per year with a ketogenic diet. I will try to find which episode it was, the podcast is called Keto Talk if you're interested.

People are always excited to know how quickly they will lose weight. It's will be unknown until you are working your program. I agree with @Babbs. Its not how fast you lose weight, it's the fact that you are losing weight.
I was sleeved June 2014. I had a required insurance weight loss before surgery. It put me in the lower BMI category. 5'5" and 234 the day of surgery. I am in the 130's. I lost my weight in 6 months. Yes, I had stalls, But he weight loss was quick now that I look back at it.
Myself and other sleevers have lost weight differently than what @@James Marusek described in the above post. Results of surgery will be different for each of us. All I can say is concentrate on your own journey to get what you want out of it.
    SIDE NOTE:
Slower weight loss will not guarantee the outcome of lose skin.. People are going to talk negative and positive about your weight loss if it's slow or fast.

Ugh. So I am in Canada so while it's free I have to wait and wait and wait. I was first referred in March. I did not get my first apt until June. I jumped through all the hoops from July through to December (last paperwork goes in today. I will likely meet with the surgeon in March and likely will not have surgery until June! So 15 months in total. And that is an estimate. It could be longer.
