  17. I had an MGB on a thursday, flew home sunday, went back to work thursday. I was totally fine, walking a lot, and recovery was not an issue at all. Energy wise, if you forget to eat, you WILL be tired, I almost passed out because I was running on a Protein shake only. Good luck, I had a band before, SUCKED. I'm 10 days out and already love how low maintenance the MGB is <3

  20. I came across this topic a while back. Didn't pay much attention as I was fresh out of surgery (mini gastric bypass). I went back to work 1 week post op, and a nurse I work with said: you are wasting away! (It was the preop that caused the dramatic weight loss of *drumroll* 14 lbs If I'm "wasting away" after 14 lbs, what am I after 40? 80? I didn't have a ready come back, I said "I'm sick" lmao I don't know why. She shut up right away. I regret saying that now. Sigh.
  21. Amazing accomplishment! And I love your t shirt, may she rest in peace.. <3
  22. I'm 5 days post op, Had my surgery in Toronto, Canada. So pleased with the whole experience. Much LESS discomfort than when I had the band put in, or removed (It was the damn port).
  23. Glad it all went well.. My surgery is on the 19th, super excited. Got me a jealous husband too.. but sure if he's jealous because he wants the surgery too or because he's worried losing weight will make me feel superior and look for someone else? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  24. Day 5 of my preop stomach wont stop gurgling. I'm tired and want to nap I am on 3 shakes and some veggies Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  25. I'm on day 4, (surgery on the 19th). I am allowed 3 Protein shakes and 250 cal worth of veggies. I do drink some sugar free calorie free non carbonated liquids, like decaf tea. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  26. Another Jan 19th surgery (mini bypass). Day 2 going on 3 in my preop diet. Can't stomach the shakes for the life of me. I sent my BariatricPal team an email to ask if I can have Protein bars instead? Or anything really! I ended up having one shake today and some veggies! The surgery can't come soon enough Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  33. Hey guys, I am a lapband insertion/removal survivor, list 100 lbs and gained it all back and then some. Booked for a mini bypass on the 19th.. I work in a hospital.. and I couldn't get more than 6 days off. I go home the 20th, and back to work on the 24th. Assuming all goes well. Just wondering, is that too ambitious, I'm mostly sitting but do some procedures standing up. Also, if anyone asks you at work, and you don't want to say you had BariatricPal surgery, what do you say? How do you get out of it lol Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
