  1. I've read posts like this before. I think several people do WW after banding. I don't, though,
  2. NO advertising! In my experience on other boards, those who are recruiting for docs don't identify that they are doing it so it is pretty underhanded. I've seen this ruin other boards.
  3. unbelieveable. You have shrunk tremendously. how terrific is that? Your bottom is half the size! Congrats.
  4. Dr. Green in Payson, Utah did it. He was great. He explained everything. He thinks I have an 11cc band (can you believe that I don't know!) and he ended up putting in 2.2 cc. He said it will be tighter tomorrow due to swelling. I can feel that it is tighter, but I am worried that I can still eat too much. He said to have clear liquids, but that yogurt and cottage cheese were ok. So I had some. I probably could have had more. I am just so paranoid that something will happen and this band won't work. There really wasn't much pain. He numbed it first, then put in needle. I kept swollowing barium liquid and tablets and he kept adjusting until he felt it was tight enough. I got to watch. He was so nice and said I could call him day and night with questions. So my experience was really good. I was kind of worried.
  5. Good luck to you. I'm glad you have choices. Most people don't!
  6. Wow. Especially in the stomach area. It's really different.
  7. that is amazing. really. I can't believe it. You look so great!
  8. I get my first fill on Tuesday and feel like I really need it. I had my surgery in Mexico and am not going back for my fills. I am having a lacoal doc do it for $265 including fluroscopy. But I don't want to keep paying that either! I have lost 25 pounds since 2/22. I really need this fill to work! I have waited 7 weeks to get it done. Yes, 25 pounds is good, but I am getting a little sick of waiting for the band to work. I have had little restriction at all from the beginning.
  9. You need to complain to the hospital. Not sedating you is completely against the usual national standards of care. Call the hospital and ask to speak to a patient representative or a risk manager.
  10. I paid $8300 at the Lite and Free program in Monterrey Mexico. It includes lifetime fills from the doc and 2 years of fluroscopy from the hospital.
  11. I ask the flight attendant for one as soon as I step on the plane. They either give it to me right there or bring it to me. If you don't make a big deal out of it then no one will notice or care. :scared:
  12. When I was frist badned a few weeks ago I lost 17 pounds off the bat and I'm sure most of it was fluid. But who needs all the extra fluid?? My pain in my joints was also a lot less and I felt better. So who cares if it is fluid? It was obviously causing a problem. good for you! You are doing great.
  13. They need to be careful about pulling things off the shelves. My dh has diabetes and really there aren't a lot of decent options. I can't find anything about this story on any of the news sites I go to.
  14. I am FINALLY getting my first fill on Tuesday, about 7 weeks after banding. I can eat anything now (except bread is still a problem) and I relly need that restriction. So I can relate.
  15. There were several posts on another site about how bogus that product is.
  16. I am almost 6 feet tall and large framed. I'll never be a small size. I am a 28/30 now and would just die if I was a 16.
  17. Gosh, what a great success story.
  18. I wa banded 7 weeks ago and my port site is still tender. I think this is true of most people. I live in the US in the west. Had my surgery in Mexico.
  19. I loved your post. I am so happy for you! Really, things turned out fabulous for you. And you deserve it.:hippie:
  20. I went to Monterrey by myself and my dh stayed home with the kids. Don't go by yourself. Privately e-mail me if you want details, but it just isn't a good idea to go to a foreign country alone and have surgery. You need someone with you.
  21. It is the same with diet pill ads and get rich quick real estate programs If they worked, everyone would be thin, rich and a land owner.
  22. Whine all you want. that's why we are here. I am so glad you don't have a leak!
  23. I hate sizes. Really. They vary so much. I want to be able to buy something in a regular store just once in my life. But I also realize that I am 5'11" and have a large frame. So that may never happen even when i am at a reasonable weight. You are right that it is discouraging, but I'll bet you look great.
  24. I had surgery in Mexico on a Wednesday. I got homeon Firday and went to work on Monday. Then I took Tuesday off and spent it in bed. I wish I would have taken more time off. I had a harrowing trip back and was really dehydrated. Otherwise I probably woud have done better.
  25. I get the hiccups when something is stuck
