I'm going through puberty again.
Juli, thank you. I think I am going to write those six things down and put it on the wall for a while. Screaming is so cathartic I think I will have to try it. I am sure the neighbors think I am crazy anyway because I like to sing broadway tunes loudly so they won't have anything new to talk about. I have a vision in my head of you laying on the floor kicking and screaming with your child wide eyed staring at you. Made my day. Thank you for your response, better late than never. I love the idea of a cut off date.

I'm going through puberty again.
Thank you all so much. When I went to get my fill they asked me how I was mentally and emotionally. I said fine because I was at the time. When I go back I will tell him what happened and see if he thinks I should be on a mild form of medication. I appreciate your input so much and will ask my Doctor also about the hormones, but I don't go back for a while so if you guys find out before me let me know what Your Dr. says if you don't mind. Thanks again everyone. I feel so much better. Hopefully it will stay that way for a while.

Moody as hell
So I posted a whine in general support but I want to ask all of you... Has anyone else been kind of crazy emotional lately? I have been since I got my fill. Crying, and then crazy happy, and then sobbing over everyday occurances. Please tell me I am not the only one going through second puberty over here. Share?

Oh Gross! Hide the chicken from your pets.
Dogs have short memories when it comes to food. It seems like you feed them then five minutes later they have forgotten they have eaten and are starving they think....kind of like me six months ago.

Hunger pangs and nicotine cravings
I quit smoking before my surgery. I didn't gain to much weight thanks to the patch, and because if I had an intense urge to smoke I would drink Water through a straw, or if it was really bad sometimes I would cut the straw into the shape of a ciggerette and suck through it like I was smoking. That helped. I only smoked for seven years though. I never heard of a prescription or maybe I would have tried that. Congrats on cutting back.

I'm going through puberty again.
Thank you all so much for your replies. I am tearing up reading them. I really appreciate your sharing and that I am not going crazy. I really thought since I went through the long healing diet I would be fine afterwards. I am going to see my mom today I think that will help. Keep sharing please, if you want. It helps.

I'm going through puberty again.
I have been so positive. My doctor told me that I would go through some psychological issues. I believed him, I really did. I went through the liquid stage with minor annoyance for almost four weeks. I sailed through the mushies. I missed real food horribly but I was fine. I got my first fill on thursday and I have cried, no sobbed, everyday since. It's been dramatic. I didn't eat anything before the fill I was too nervous. I received my fill at 2, at 4 the next day when I got off work as soon as I got home I picked a huge fight with my partner. I never act like that. When she didn't rise to my bitching, nagging, and accusations I went through our apartment raging and even threw some nail clippers at the wall. I never act like this ever. Then I took a long bath and got out feeling contrite and refreshed. I apologized and then two seconds later started crying and crying. Last night I cried and cried until I thought I was going to lose my mind because my friends cancelled on plans we had for two weeks. These particular friends always cancel so it was nothing unusual about it. But it effected me terribly. Then my partner and I went to my bestfriends play which was hilarous and wonderful. I left happy and giddy and that is how I went to bed. I woke up this morning and cried about my grandmothers stroke, and my grandfathers cancer and when that passed, I went to watch some tv. One the news there was this adorable senior citizens singing group "young at heart" they sang current hits and other hits from the 60's. It was touching. Then this guy with cancer who had a beautiful deep strong voice sang this slow sad song with his oxegen on and I started sobbing again. I feel like I am going through puberty again. I am not an unhappy person. I am usually very positive, very happy, and strong. I can't stop crying. In fact I am tearing up while writing this. How could someones whose life is going exactly the way they want it too be so sad? I have nothing to complain about. My life is as perfect right now as it could be yet I can't stop these tears. I feel ungrateful and embarrassed. I know I have nothing to cry about but the tears won't stop. I feel like my heart is broken but nothing broke it. What can I do to stop these senseless emotions? What can I do to be myself? I know that I need a new way to fight my stress, but I don't realize I am stressed until it overpowers me like this. I guess I am used to pushing it down and before I would freak out I would eat it all away. I am not crying for help, I am not crying from happiness, I not crying for anything. I am just crying. I just can not stop crying.

How do you get (and keep) a friend?
You have to leave the house. You have to get involved in something where you can meet someone with interest like yours. You take that first step by extending an invitation. Then you support them, you keep in touch, you build a friendship. Kind of like any other relationship. The hardest part is showing up and getting started. Its hard to break out of the shell.

Irrational fears
Zombies. Absolutely terrified that zombies are going to attack. I talk about it so much that I actually received a "zombie attack survival guide" book for christmas. But I don't know if that would qualify as irrational. Fearing zombies seems pretty rational to me.

wondering if others have noticed this?
Its been kind of the opposite for me. My thin friends are super supportive but my heavier friends make comments like. "I'm doing it the hard way" or "I wouldn't want to do that to myself"

Oh Gross! Hide the chicken from your pets.
My mom used to keep grease in a metal folgers can too! Have you noticed that they only come in plastic now? So sad. Your dog sounds hilarious. I just called my partner in to read it outloud to her

Oh Gross! Hide the chicken from your pets.
Shes a thief and a begger but I love her. Oh smart dog. She had time to get away with the meat. If she had taken the whole sandwich you would have noticed sooner.

Hi, Everyone....I think I'll be the contrarian voice here...
I hear that. I hate cancer. F*%k Cancer! I don't know how to be articulate when I even hear the word, Cancer. I just feel rage, I guess. Like somone talking about an actual person who shot their parents or children. Rage and sadness. This has nothing to do with the subject, I suppose, but I felt a need to say it. Sorry.

Oh Gross! Hide the chicken from your pets.
So I invited some people over to cook them a healthy meal. I was going to make baked chicken breast, aspargus with fat free swiss cheese, and squash.... Yeah. I WAS. As I was taking my chicken out of the fridge where it was thawing the phone rang. I went and answered it and it was one of the dinner guest calling to confirm the time. I left the five large chicken breast on the counter for exactly two minutes not within my sight. When I got back to the kitchen they were gone. I called my girlfriend from the bedroom and asked her "wadda ya do with my chicken?" "huh" she replied and we both looked at her 78 lb black lab maggie. 5 chicken breast she ate in two minutes. She freaks out and called the vet who told her to make the dog swallow hydrogene proxide to throw it up or she would have horrible diarrea for a week. So here I am forcing oxegenated Water down a 80 lb dog to make her vomit my dinner. She did. 5 peices of chicken completely whole. I had to cancel my dinner. Not that Marcie and I could have eaten after that anyway. Freaking Gross.

Some people, I swear...
oops sorry I missed this one before I posted. I agree MOSt people I met here are supportive. If they were not I wouldn't be on it. I totally agree with this post. I would just like to add that you can be a complete a-hole and not realize it, it doesn't mean you don't need support as well. I really feel people should lay off. I am sure they had a reason to be mad, but it's getting pretty violent in here (internetacly speaking I mean)

Some people, I swear...
I have to kind of agree with you. He has made some fishy comments, but if his story is true (which I have no way of knowing) then maybe he feels justified in saying and doing the things he has. Some of the things he has described sound so horrible, I couldn't imagine the emotional or mental state he is in. Or maybe he is just a troll and a liar...but if there is a chance he is not then I do not want to be the one making light of his greivances.

Where are you, Karen?

Dr Merremen
I know I am pretty late. I was banded 2/27/08. I couldn't have asked for a better dr so far. He is such a funny, down to earth, talented man. I just had my first fill. He was so professional and made it so comfortable for me. Tara

i am staying on plan today because ...
I'm staying on plan today because I need to see results even if they aren't as fast as I want them to be. Trying to teach myself how not to be an instant gratification kid.
