I'm really not sure where you are getting your information from concerning Mexico. Their standards are at least as high if not higher than in the US or Canada. I had my bariatric surgery in Mexico and had one of the best bariatric surgeons in Mexico, who is now an International Member of ASMBS (American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery). Also, the hospital (Oasis of Hope-a full service hospital, not a clinic) where I had my surgery had very skilled and educated surgical staff, doctors, and nurses, who were more attentive than in the US. They came to the room when I hit the nurse button. They didn't ask me what was wrong on the speaker; they came to my room. The company I went through also had valets that checked on me and my companion to make sure we were doing fine. I stayed in the hospital for three days, then went to the hotel, where I was visited both days by a doctor to make sure I was progressing well. That kind of care doesn't exist in the US. It was the best hospital and subsequent care I have ever received, bar none. Not to mention the fact that whenever I have questions, for the rest of my life, I can get in touch with my surgeon and nutritionist, via email or Skype, and get my questions answered within 24 hours.
More than likely, I will go to Mexico, through the same company to get my plastic surgery as well, because I know I will be well taken care of.
My bariatric surgeon is Dr. Selim Illan, and the company I went through is Bariatricpal Team Mx.

No, competition is not the key. Whether we live or die should NOT be a capitalistic venture. When that happens, people die because they can't afford to go to the doctor or can't afford insurance at all. Over 1 million people have died since 1993 because they were not insured or under insured.
It's time we as a nation took profit out of the equation of people's health and well being and offered universal healthcare, so every single person, rich, poor, or in between has a chance to live a happy, healthy life.

This is what happens when health insurance is a for profit industry
Maybe someday the US will get on the board and go single payer or universal like the rest of the industrialized countries. But I'm not holding my breath.

offthebandwagon reacted to PorkChopExpress in New Study about Attitudes Towards Obesity
Anyone suffering from obesity and a repeated failure to overcome it could tell them what the "average person's" opinion was on the topic. Somehow, people equate needing to lose 10 pounds with losing 200 pounds. They have not a single, solitary clue about the challenges obese people face, trying to lose weight and get in shape. Not one. They don't get that the amount of willpower that is required to last two straight years or so on a calorie restricted diet, when your entire body will fight to maintain homeostasis and will require you to bust through month-long plateaus while feeling like your stomach is eating itself alive all day long, every day and you are quite literally BOMBARDED with signals to eat all day long, every day...not to mention you have behaviors and attitudes well-worn into your psyche that uses food as a tool to cope with issues in your life, and taking that away creates even more difficulty in staying on a program for years, to lose that much weight...it's asinine. Especially given that most people who are morbidly obese have a lot of co-morbidities that interfere with fat loss, like diabetes...and their entire metabolic system is different than a "normal" person's.
If you have only ever been 10-20 pounds overweight, you frankly have absolutely no business commenting on what obese people should or should not be doing, in my opinion...because you don't have a clue what we have to deal with.

Mine is scheduled for Nov 28th. I've already done 2 weeks preop diet in hopes of a Halloween surgery but that didn't happen. I'm eating 1 sensible meal a day but keeping to the liquid for the most part. I start liquid diet again on Nov 14th.

Ladies, chicks, girls, women... calm down! We all know, WE actually run the show. It is US who let them take the lead, therefore them letting us take the lead is just us really having control. yes. I meant to confuse you.
Guys if you really want an excellent date, be rich, handsome, charming and witty. If you can't be any of those things, just be real. If your a talker, Yap her ear off. If your a jerk, be a jerk (some chicks dig that) if your boring... well... just stay home

@@WLSResources/ClothingExch Umm, I am posting in the Guy's Room. I did that for a reason. I would have phrased everything differently in Mars/Venus or Single forum or Rants. I don't mind ladies chiming in, except on matters of style when it comes to addressing other guys. I hope I have been respectful to others in tone in various forums, but in a very NY fashion let me say "hey don't bust my balls for talking like a guy." Just saying.

I could be wrong but I bet that your question would have been taken in a different light had a homosexual man asked the question. As much as I hate to point someone into a situation that you may not be comfortable with you might want search men's homosexual forums for the term "rny" and see what comes up.
