98 pounds down and thinking about my goal
I didn't have a weight goal when I started either. My goals were 33-34 pants and a large shirt. I'm currently wearing 32" Wrangler slim fit jeans and 2XL shirts. The shirts are loose and XL's look awesome until I sit down and my stomach gains 9 inches! My cousin came for Thanksgiving and I realized that I would be quite happy being built like him. He is my height and has the same short leg/long torso that I have. We are both wearing the same size pants. He wears medium to large shirts and he weighs 178 pounds. This puts him at a BMI of 27.9 which is still in the overweight category. You know what? He looks dang good and he is healthy so he is my role model because being healthy was my reason for doing this journey.

What's your average weightloss for 6 months?
highfunctioningfatman replied to Red_lips_and_confidence's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&AThere are a ton of variables to your answer but the biggest factor is that the heavier you start, the more you will lose.

Funny you should say that. I don't know exactly how much a cylinder head weighs but I threw on in my backpack and carried it around for a bit this last weekend. I know that it has to be a bit short of my missing 81 pounds but I can guarantee that my body didn't miss it one bit!

NSV Christmas baking..
Freaking awesome girl! I decided that I would allow myself one goodie a day during the season. So far I think that I've had 5 small pieces of something. I see nothing wrong with enjoying in moderation as long as someone can control their eating. Keep up the cookie training e.g. "no cookie, no! I won't eat you!". Of course you have to picture this with a whip in one hand and a chair in the other like you are dealing with a lion.

Facial hair
They seemed thicker at first but now I'm going through the hair loss phase and I'm losing it everywhere. I usually wear a white button up shirt for work and I've noticed my mustache and beard hair on my shirt on days that I haven't shaved. My wife also noticed that I'm losing hair in other parts of my body as well.

A Little More Off the Rear Please!
The sad thing is that I really do have a long lost sister. If any of you ladies were born 5/12/68 in Los Angeles County, you could actually be my sister.

Binder
For those that are or were wearing one, where are your incisions? Mine were on my chest and upper belly and I can't see where one would have helped me. I'm just wondering if the incision location makes the difference.

I'm calling BS
So I should weigh in here as I may have been mentioned in the original post. My badges of honor (incisions) are all in my chest and upper belly. We did play around 2 days after while still in Mexico but the full pleasure didn't happen until 5 days later and we took it slow and easy. By day 9 we were having fun as usual. I will say though that keeping moving actually made me feel better. Also I will say that the early adventures started with lotion and a back rub, as did our son! No pictures of the deed but I do have pictures of the smiley face in lotion on my wife's back on ST Patty's day 2009. My son was born 12-16-09. You do the math!

Anyone with Barrett's Esophagus?
My dad does but he isn't considering wls. He should be... He is diabetic as well. The only real change that he needed to make from his regular diabetic diet was the dr told him no more onions or peppers.

The emotional roller coaster
So yes Virginia there really is a Santa Claus and unfortunately he blew a .07. Now I'm looking for 3 employees... Wonderful, just freaking wonderful. It would be nice if my other employee was at least fully trained but nope, he has been with me just over a month. Also December through April are our busiest months.
