My RNY Bypass was May 10th and thought I would let everyone know how it went. Surgery was at 12:30 in the afternoon and I was released from hospital by 2:00 the next afternoon. I did a lot of walking the halls soon after surgery and I really think that helped. I actually felt better walking than I did sitting. I had no nausea or vomiting whatsoever and still have not. I used pain meds for a couple days. After that the pain was bearable. Mainly gas pains and walking definitely helps with that. I have had no trouble getting all my Water in, but I do sip all day long. The hardest part has been keeping on the schedule of meds, food, Protein Drinks and liquids. Took me a bit to get my meds straight and figure out the best schedule for me. I'll be glad when I can stop some of the meds.
Honestly - I can't believe how well I have done. I feel great, walking the neighborhood. Going to the drug store today to pick up some things, my first venture out alone. I am thankful for my amazing talented surgeon!
Don't be afraid, it's never as bad as you think it might be. For me, it wasn't bad at all.
Hope you all have great results!!

Ladies, while we understand that you may be curious as to what is going on in the Man Room, Alex and I respectfully request that you refrain from posting in this forum. The purpose of having a room for the men is so they may post about subjects specific to men only, and feel comfortable in doing so. Many times these are sensitive issues, and this should be a safe place to discuss male related problems without the fear of being judged or being afraid that their issue may not be taken seriously. We will be, in turn asking the same of the men in regards to the powder Room. Thank you for your cooperation.

I have a cuisinart ice cream maker, but you can find others on Amazon pretty cheap. For chocolate mint you could just use the cocoa and some mint extract. You could also throw in a handful of dark chocolate chips and skip the cocoa. Because I don't use cream it gets kind of hard so I put it in single serving containers with lids. This way I can nuke it for 20 seconds to soften it up a bit. I use 1 c half and half, 2 c unsweetened almond milk, 2 eggs, and two packages of the Yougert. I love it and eat one almost every day. Way better than a Protein Bar.

Have you tried the Syntrax Cappuccino flavor? It's Decaf.
Make with Fairlife for extra Protein, blend with ice, and it tastes like a frappuccino.

I'm at 6 months and getting closer and closer to my goal.
Was given an "attaboy" from my surgeon last week and told to up th portion size.
I splurged a couple times over this weekend at work. We'd ordered out for our lunches. Instead of eating only the toppings off the pizza......I had the whole slice....two slices, in fat. Next day's lunch.....instead of just eating the bbq, I also had the bread that accompanied it.....and the hash with some of the carb sides.
I say that to say this.......I am smack dab in the middle of my weight loss phase and I brought bread & carbs back into the mix in small amounts for a three day period. I weighed this morning and was not surprised at all with the horrid sight on the scale. No surprises that the number that looked back at me wasn't to my liking. I rationalized that I needed the glycogen for my weight training sessions this weekend. So much for my bullcrap broscience.
I was a dumbass and there was my sign.
Sometimes in life things get real simple for us.
Such is the case with weight loss.......
    Cause......and effect.
Guess what this old boy is having this week........protein first......protein last......protein all in between. Gonna get a healthy dose of treadmill and elliptical, too. Bamsucka. Fell off the horse, but back on it and gonna ride that beast bareback until it can't take any more......then I'll hop off and drag it across the finish line.
    Carbs......piss on 'em.

Why do you want to eat bread, rice, and Pasta, especially this early out? For a post-wls person, they have little nutritional value and are prone to causing problems with weight loss, even if you can tolerate them.

Baseball player from the 70's and 80's. He tells a hilarious story about getting food poisoning and then finally being able to take a normal dump and how great that felt. It's a lot funnier than a post can make it sound!

As a chef, the trick to cooking game (or very lean meat) is hot and fast to medium rare for steaks and burgers OR low and slow for roasts, leg meat, and tougher cuts. A braise (baked with moisture-bottle of beer, couple cups of wine, or stock) will give you that "fall off the bone" tender. I'm 8 months post sleeve and have had venison and buffalo mini (2.5 oz) burgers with no issues. The corned beef for St. Pat's was more of a problem for me, BECAUSE of the fat! I say Get Your Game On...

I've not had such feelings but from what I gather, your feelings are far from abnormal...
Unfortunately, I've no words or wisdom to impart on you apart from the following...
No matter how you may feel, you are never, NEVER alone in this...
    There is always support here...
Admittedly, it may not be the complete package (like when it comes to just needing a hug and other things I don't understand coz I'm a man and stuff), but it will almost certainly get you thru any tough times you may be having...
The chances are that somewhere in here will be people who are having/feeling/thinking exactly the same as you...
Hopefully such people will respond to you call for assistance and advice...
    Take care @@Zoes.Realm
I look forward to reading your updates and successes in the future...
