the boyfriend update for those who wonder
Man, where do these people get pot?! When I was younger it was so easy but now that I'm older I'm not on the "scene" anymore so it's harder! I haven't smoked in a LONG time but I wouldn't mind a joint every now and then. It's more of an exercise for me cause I laugh my ass off!! LOL! I never really got addicted to anything but food I guess it's the lesser of all evils?

What are my chances?
Are there any bandsters out there who have NEVER vomited, PBd, or slimed? I just want to know how often this happens if at all? I don't like to vomit (not that anyone likes to) but I'm a person who maybe has vomited a handful of times in my life. I'm scared to do any of these things cause I hate such events it makes me sick and I don't like the feeling. So please tell me if I follow all the rules of chewing, eating slow, small bites, not overeating that my chances of doing the above will be slim to none.

Group Name Ideas.
I can't wait for November! My preop testing will be in October and I'm supposed to start preop diet Oct.20. I vote for Notorious Novembers!

When is your surgery?
Mine will Be November 3rd with Dr. Rohrer! I'm so excited, I can't wait!
-
Did your Doc require a pre-op diet?
I'm only required to do protein drinks sf jello, no calorie beverages and I can eat raw or cooked vegetables no salt or butter. Not too bad but I'm going to go crazy I know! After surgery I only have 1-2 days of clear liquids then 2-4 weeks full liquids then 4 weeks pureed then 2-4 weeks soft foods. It's going to suck cause my surgery is beginning of November-no holiday treats for me!LOL!

Birth Control.
I have to say I really hate birth control! Just my personal opinion! It's not because "I'm against it" morally or anything I just hate taking medication on a daily basis or anything I have to remember. I don't like the thought of IUDs because I don't want anything inserted in my girly area!LOL! Also, I haven't found any birth control that I "LOVE" so I guess that's part of it. I have done ortho-tricyclen, depo-provera, nuvaring, seasonique, and now I'm on trinessa(generic for ortho-tricyclen). My husband plans on getting the big V a few months after my surgery because we are pretty much done having kids.

Will this go away?
I'm always hot! Especially at night I'm constantly waking up to turn my pillow or move positions because I put off SO much heat! Will this go away when I get my band and lose some weight?

Would someone please be my friend? I'm really nice.
I have been approved but my surgery isn't until November. I know I start my pre-op diet towards the end of October. I haven't been dieting that's for sure but I haven't been scarfing everything down either. I think that the begining of Oct. I will start watching what I eat and cut back on carbs to prepare for preop diet. However, since I LOVE thanksgiving type foods and birthday is before my preop diet I will be having a thanksgiving meal early for my birthday meal. I don't care, I figure if I do good eating right before and have that one splurge before starting the preop diet it won't hurt that much. I do have a goal to lose 5-10lbs before my preop diet and I know I can do it, even with my thanksgiving meal.

How fast were you approved by insurance (TriCare) or others?
Your approval to see the surgeon is not the same as approval for surgery. I have Tricare Prime and was authorized to see the surgeon and then the surgeon sent in the paperwork to Tricare for approval for the surgery. It took 2 days to get approved for surgery.

Private pay vs. Insurance coverage
I was all prepared to self-pay and go to Mexico because I just knew that my insurance would deny me(long story). Anyway, I found out last week that I was approved and they will pay for all of the costs!!

Tricare
Well my surgery got approved now I just need to hope I get authorization for the fills. I don't think it will be a problem though. I am STILL in shock! I do think it depends on who gets your case because really I have only one currently treated co-morbidity.

Tricare and fills
Ok I got the answer! My dr. has to submit authorization for more office visits with correct CPT codes for tricare to cover fills around the time of my surgery. Whew! Hopefully that goes smoothly!

Tricare and fills
Ok I'm bumping this up to ask how or where can I find the information that Tricare Prime will cover my fills after surgery? Because when I called and asked before the lady obviously didn't know what I was talking about and said the authorization only covered 6 weeks after surgery. Can someone help?:confused2:

who supports right to choose
UGH! Abortion is a moral/medical issue that should not be governed by the state or federal entities. And for those of you religious people that are pro-life just remember God gave us free will and by making laws against such choices is violating what God gave us!

who supports right to choose
"Because she didn't use birth control" Are you kidding me? So it's not the man's responsibility anymore to use birth control, it's the woman's? And I'm sure it's her fault then she got pregnant so then let's force her to have a baby she probably end up abusing anyway! Having children is a choice! If a couple or a woman doesn't want to have kids what's so wrong with that? If it wasn't as acceptable for men to abandon their children as women then how come so many in our country do so with no backlash from society?! It's become the norm as sad as it is! A man could go through his life without having any children and it's perfectly fine, if a woman goes through life without having children there are so many questions and assumptions. Like, why didn't she have kids, could she not physically have kids? Then to find out she CHOSE not to have kids she is looked at as a bitch or heartless! I personally don't feel abortion should be used as a method of birth control however, I don't think the government has any right to impose penalties on a women's choice to do what she wants with her body.

Who has regretted getting the lap band & why?
Obviously haven't been banded yet but I've done some research and lots of thinking about this and have decided that even if I do have complications and might have to get it removed at least I gave it my all and at least I tried. That's the best anyone can do!

who supports right to choose
I find it funny how men are pro-life!! Like a man could ever know what it's like to have an unwanted pregnancy! Let's face it, it is perfectly acceptable in our society for a man to leave his children and have nothing to do with them. However, if a woman were to leave her children it is untolerable! So NO MAN will ever tell me what I will and won't do with a child in MY BODY! They will never know what that is like! My husband has no idea what it is like to go through pregnancy and have your body go through those changes and never be the same he has not sacrificed near as much as I have and if he even had the audacity to tell me what I should or shouldn't in regards to pregnancy we would be over! There is a much worse fate for children than abortion! Just watch your evening news!

What kind of razor do you use?
I use intuition as well and love, love, love it! I'm really lazy when it comes to shaving so this is perfect for me! No creams, gels just pick it up and start shaving!

Tricare and fills
So will tricare send me paperwork about my approval for surgery? Will it be in the paperwork?:confused2:
-
Tricare and fills
OK so I had to call tricare to see if I could have my pre-op testing at the hospital where I'm getting my surgery or have it at the base and I asked the lady if tricare covers the fills and I think she was confused and didn't know what those were, she told me it covers only up to 6 weeks after my surgery?! So does tricare cover fills? If so who do I call to ask and get this clarified? I have TriWest Prime in case that helps.
