  1. :thumbup:Hey Froggi! I hope it's Nov. 3rd that is when I'm getting banded and it would be awesome to have someone to talk to that is going through the stages with me! LOL! Good luck keep us posted!
  2. Have you personally seen this bill? Do you know exactly what it says or are you getting your information from Bill O'Reilly, Rush Limbaugh, or the other extreme conservative mouthpieces? I mean come on, where the heck is this stuff?! It's more common sense that ANY person would vote for something that would PROTECT children from pedophiles and other sex offenders than to actually teach them sex and std's at such a young age!! I mean for crying out loud the man has young children of his own! You are just being outlandish! This isn't even something that is seriously affecting our country and you want to base your vote off something so ridiculous? I definitely want to get education as a whole fixed, economy, war, healthcare, etc.! But NO you and the rest of your republican conservative party want to distract from REAL issues that people are facing instead of fixing them and coming up with REAL solutions! UGH, just makes me ill!
  3. Palin wants to do away with abortion EVEN in cases of rape and incest. She also believes that manmade activities HAVE NOT contributed to global warming! This person is NOT ready to be VP nor POTUS! What exactly is it about her that is "relatable"? I'm a mother and there is no way I can relate to her that's for sure! First of all this lady has a shit-load of money and has her "nannies" taking care of her kids where's the "family values"?? She has maids and personal chefs. Sorry can't relate! But hey if you are happy with where our country is right now vote for McCain because he helped get us here, he sided with Bush 90% of the time. Also, I haven't heard any plans from him to get our troops out of Iraq actually quite the contrary. And WHY are we in Iraq when the PENTAGON has stated there is no link between Iraq and Al Qaeda? Oh right oil! Is it a coincidence that Cheney had his "energy" meeting right after getting into office where they had maps of the oil fields in Iraq and has REFUSED to say who exactly was at that meeting however, we know for sure there was at least one ceo of a major oil company present. Give me a break! There have been lies after lies from the Bush administration about this war and what our purpose is there and some of you actually want to vote for MCCAIN??!! The one candidate who has agreed and voted with Bush for the past 8 years!? Hey to each their own and if you see nothing wrong with the way things are now you will get more of the same if not worse by voting for McCain. But go ahead and vote based on "moral" issues cause you know all those gays and women who have abortions are running our country into the ground!:rolleyes2: Said my peace and now I'm done!
  4. That is so AWESOME!! I just don't understand why people think she is so great! She doesn't even know what a VP does, she said so herself! It's on youtube.
  5. Well on youtube it shows an interview with her when she first found out she was in the running for VP and she stated she didn't even know what a VP does!! Also, she is for doing away with abortion even in cases of rape and incest! That to me is awful!
  6. I have PCOS and right now I'm on trinessa (generic for ortho-tricyclen). I was on seasonique before that and at first didn't like it but at the end I LOVED it! I had to switch because my insurance doesn't cover it and it's kind of expensive $60for a 3 month pack. With seasonique you have a period every 3 months. However, if my pcos goes away with weight loss(keeping fingers crossed) my husband is going to get the big V so I won't have to take anything!! YAY! Lets hope!
  7. Ok, even though I haven't been banded yet, I do have some experience with the slim-fast shakes that come in a can. I could never drink them right from the can I always poured them in a glass first. I don't know why they just tasted better that way to me. So it might help!
  8. I completely agree with you but according to CNN she removed sex education from schools which to me is scary!
  9. Where in my previous post did I suggest Bristol getting pregnant was her mother's fault? Uh duh! Kids are going to do what they want to do especially teens and there in lies the fact taking sex education out of schools is bad news! Because for a lot of teens that is the only source of knowledge about sex they get! This is a perfect example of why sex ed. should not be removed but elaborated upon in school! Also BO was in Senate in Feb of 2005! It never ceases to amaze me what crap people believe!
  10. I don't like Palin she is a hypocrit! She took sex education out of Alaska schools because "we should be teaching abstinence only", then her own daughter becomes pregnant? Are you kidding me? It is very apparent that abstinence only teaching does not work! Her family is a shining example of that! And Biden's son is IN Iraq, what makes her kids so special?! What about her cronyism and abuse of power she is ALREADY under investigation for not even 2 years into her term of governor? Those are two things that are totally different from the Bush Administration!:crying:
  11. Yes and punctuation marks are our friends! i agree and call BS on this guy myself!
  12. OMG! That is so awesome! I was pulling for you!! Oh isn't it a relief! I know it was for me!! Congratulations, keep us posted on how everything goes! Best wishes for you!
  13. Believe me I know the feeling. My PCM is a total Bitch! Long story short at the end of my appointment I wanted to throat punch her! Stay positive and stay on top of things, don't get discouraged! Good luck!
  14. I was all set to be denied because the docs on base were horrid to me and I pretty much felt as if they WANTED me to get denied. My surgeon and his head nurse are AWESOME! It only took 2 days once they submitted the paperwork for me to get the call I was approved.
  15. I only have 1 week of pre-op diet but it consists of protein shakes all the raw and cooked veggies I want, SF jello, SF popscicles. The day prior to surgery it's only clear liquids.
  16. Tricare Prime-Triwest Montana Husband's employer Already approved, surgery not until November!
  17. Ok so in the information received from the surgeon and dietician it says the sooner you start preparing the better. Meaning you should start now eating slow, smaller bites, chewing well, etc. So I am wondering if I'm the only one who has been puttin this off? I find it hard to do these things (along with dieting) if I'm not "forced" to. This has been my own personal experience. Anyone else in the same boat?
  18. Oh man I know! I'm a person who eats fast and hardly chews! This is going to be rough but I'm slowly transitioning! But yes the band will make us do it and that is what I need! Good luck! :thumbup:I know I'll need it!
  19. Mine is mostly in my thighs, and I don't expect it all to go away but I would eventually like to be able to wear shorts with some confidence. Hmm...I guess only time will tell. Thanks for the answers ladies!

Ok for those of you have been banded awhile and have lost at least 50lbs+ have you noticed a change in cellulite? I'm hoping that my cellulite in my legs will be less with weight loss, do I have hope?
  21. I had to take the ring out to have sex. It was uncomfortable with it in. It also made me very crazy. Irritable, anxious, depressed.
  22. My surgery is November 3rd! I'm excited and can't wait! I will do all my preop testing in October. That will be a really busy month cause that is my birthday month as well as my daughter's. Hopefully all goes smoothly and the day will get here in no time. I'm so worried about not doing well on my preop diet. It starts Oct. 20th. It's not THAT bad I can have protein shakes, SF jello, popscicles, and raw or cooked veggies. To all of those waiting on approvals: make sure you ask about your fills! In all the shock and excitement of hearing "approved" I forgot to ask the lady about the fills. I called tricare later and the rep I got said the surgeon would have to send in for an authorization for more office visits after surgery. Luckily my surgeon doesn't charge for fills 90 days after surgery. Good luck to everyone!
  23. spa treatments! pedicure, manicure, facial, maybe even a new do?! It's really relaxing and feels good! Like a mini-vacation! Congratulations!
  24. I SO know how you feel I'm in the same boat! As you can my surgery isn't scheduled till November! At first I was like I want this NOW! But I'm actually seeing this wait as a blessing! It's helping me wrap my brain around what I need to do and really get prepared for surgery and practice my new eating habits that we will have after surgery. So just try to think of the positives of waiting and relax, focus on what you need to do now and time will fly! Good luck!
  25. I had no problems with tricare so far, (thank goodness)! I didn't think I was going to get approved because of the awful experiences I had with the doc that gave the referral and my PCM(long story). My surgeon's nurse even said she couldn't say if I would get approved cause I have only 1 currently treated co-morb. But it was only 2 days after they sent in the paperwork that I got a call saying I was approved. The only thing left for me to do with tricare is have my surgeon's office send in paperwork for authorization for my fills after surgery. The good thing is my surgeon doesn't charge for fills for 90 days after surgery. I have prime so I don't know if it's different with standard. Good luck, hope this helps!
