So everyone getting banded in November...or supposed to be...we need a group name!!! Any ideas. So far all I have in mind is:

It doesn't have to have November in it but it needs something representing it somehow I think. Nor does it need to rhyme have the same letters.

I know this doesn't pertain to me. but I was nosy and I have to put my 2 cents in. I kind of like notorious. As for Novembers, why not drop the NO and just use Vembers. (rhymes with member) Or simply call yourselves the NO-vembers.

Or, NO-members. (NO stands for no overeating) (or No longer Obese)

Give it time. I've noticed on here that quite a few people join up just before banding unless they are in the research stage. I signed up to do research and joined two weeks before banding but didn't even post till a couple months later. My opinion is, come up with a name and they can like it or not.

I kind of like Notorious, but I like the idea of NOvembers, too. I'm the most indecisive person alive though.

No date yet but they keep telling me November for sure. Watch it not be November but I am hoping like they said. I asked Alex to add the rest of the months so we could talk. :biggrin: We need a name lol

I wish I could contribute but I've expended all of my creative energy thinking up, drawing and painting what will be my back piece tattoo once I've lost all the weight. Hehehe. :sad:

Once I have the drawing all done and coloured in I may scan it, if I do I'll post a pic. It'll be probably a good 3-5 years before I actually get it done. I want to make sure any surgeries involving my back are done and healed.

And I actually thought of a suggestion for a group name (shocking I know, especially since I feel about one step above a zombie right now. )

How about Supernovas? (I'm a huge astronomy geek, hehe)

hey everyone!! it's so nice to finally have our own thread. i've been thinking about the lap-band for years-- my first seminar was in Dallas over 2 years ago. I went again in Dallas this past May but I decided I will have the surgery in Missouri where I go to school now, just because it will be better during the year to be closer to my doctor in case anything happens... and it will make getting fills and unfills a lot easier. I have yet to meet him, but I hear great things. I have talked over the phone with the surgery center and it looks like I will be getting surgery at the beginning of my Thanksgiving break-- right around 11/21 or so! I'll keep you guys updated when it gets closer...

I'm in Beijing right now, interning as a journalist at the Olympics! It's very exciting and all but being surrounded by healthy and skinny athletes all day keeps me VERY aware of my weight. Anyways, being this far away makes it very hard for me to do anything about surgery now, but I scheduled a seminar for September with my new doc.

as for names.... i like what you guys have come up with so far! if i think of any, i'll be sure to add it here. a few:

-narcissistic novembers (that one will be tough to type out all the time!)

-newvembers, or new novembers

As for the names I like Newvembers hehe but I also like Notorious hehe

no, i'm working over at gymnastics actually (which makes it worse-- all of the girls there weight about 75 pounds! but that's another story...)

yeah it could be NewVembers, or however everyone likes it. we can do a poll about the most popular names once it gets closer to our month and more people know their date!

Yeah I was told November but it's no surefire 100% that it is November. But they say most likely it is.

I start month 5 of my diet on wednesday and in October I'll be doing preop testing like the EGD etc.
