I can't believe I never thought of this. It's cold, rainy and yucky in Seattle right now. Go figure. Anyways I made Green tea and then added a squirt of the Water flavoring to it. Today I added peach mango. Super Yummy. Now I can experiment with all the other flavors.
    Happy Halloween.

I am working with my doctor on a high Protein, high fat, low carb diet and I am moving my ass a LOT.

    Period.

Any further questions simply get a full resting bitch face and a reply of "I'm sure you didn't mean to sound as rude as you did."

No one has ever asked me if I had surgery. If they did, I would simply ask them why they thought they had the right to ask me such an intrusive question.

ocgirl15 got a reaction from Bufflehead in When can I have peanut butter?!?!
I am 10 months out, at goal and normal BMI. Peanut Butter is MY favorite!!! I started eating peanut butter when I hit goal and haven't lost any weight since. Not an ounce! Stopped eating it for week and lost 2 lbs. in other words do not touch the stuff until your at goal and starting maintenance and then only in moderation. Might as well call it STALL butter!!!!

It was easier for me the first and second year sleeved. The first year I had no candy because I was only 2 months post op, last year I was at goal and I think I had 1 peice. This year in maintenence for a year it's been hard. I've had several Kit Kats. But I'll be running them off tomorrow and detoxing off sugar again for sure!

At 10 months post op I eat what my family does but I skip the carb (bread, Pasta, rice are not on the menu). For example if is spaghetti night I put the meat sauce on my veggie. I Even eat the toppings from pizza... I no longer dread pizza night!!!! Obviously you can't do that yet. But you can soon!!! The further out you get the easier it gets! I promise. Don't beat yourself up either... The phase your in is hard.

I was having a discussion earlier with a friend about oatmeal, etc. I love oatmeal- steel cut. Am I eating them 7 months out? No way! Will I at some point? Doubtful, maybe a small teaspoon to taste it in a year or two.
I'm Italian. food is what it's all about for us. Do I miss a good ooey-gooey lasagna? You bet! Will I eat one again? No flipping way. It's a mind set thing. Know that you eat to live. food is tasty for a reason... We need to eat
    To survive. But
We can choose healthy, life sustaining foods that we can make taste yummy. Just need creativity and determination.

I am no expert, but from what I have experienced and seen, weight loss is weight loss. The rate of weight loss has no impact on loose skin. Now, that said, it can take up to a year after weight loss for your skin to "catch up" and shrink as much as it's going to, but it will catch up to whatever its potential it no matter how you lose the weight.
The actually loose skin amount is based on several things; your age, genetics, your level of obesity and how long you carried the excess weight.

No matter what? Loose skin looks better than filled out skin in a great pair of jeans, so....

You may have felt back to normal but your insides were far from it. You are an adult and can do what you want but please don't encourage others to do the same. Drinking alcohol this early out is extremely dangerous. You may feel fine but you have no idea what type of damage you could have done.

Your BMI is high enough to qualify for surgery. Losing weight and keeping it off is extremely difficult. I encourage you to explain the health complications that come along with morbid obesity. If you weigh 280 - you have more than 100 lbs to lose. That's not exactly "not needing surgery".

Saramarie, may I inquire if alcohol is approved your doctor or NUT at five days out? If they do you picked the wrong medical team. It is too soon! Most are still on clear or maybe full liquids at that point. Alcohol can cause serious complications like ulcers and leaks. I mean serious possibly life threatening complications. I am not judging you I am honestly concerned for your well being. Your just had 80% of your stomach removed and it is held together by staples. It is a raw, swollen irritated mess that can't even handle basic food. 6 weeks is the earliest Doctor recommendation I have seen on this board. Most are 3, 6, 12 months or even never.

I am actually the mother of a pre-teen gaining weight and I am very very concerned. I would never have thought to ask the question here ...but here it is. I am at a loss of what questions to ask her doctor, what tests to requests. Most importantly how do I deal with this issue with her when she is already sensitive and self conscience about her changing body. Dr don't seem to be concerned. I know my own parents intervention at this age was seen by me as criticism and their efforts had the opposite effect. Boy I don't want to do more damage than good. I also don't want her to get to the point of needing WLS.

There are also Breakfast quinoa recipes as well as pudding recipes. I've tried a few, but can't remember which ones came out good or not. That's why I didn't include them. An internet search should come up with some.
