I'm thirsty
That's about what I do. If I don't take a sip I feel like the food gets stuck in my throat. I used to have several of glasses of something while I ate. Not doing that anymore has been one of the hardest parts for me

I'm thirsty
I hate mint so that sounds terrible to me LOL, but I love to add things to my water to help get it in. In the summer I love to add frozen berries. keeps it cold and infuses it with flavor

HOW DO YOU SUCCEED WITH HEALTHY EATING WHEN YOU'RE MEXICAN
I don't think being mexican, or from any specific culture, has anything to do with it. You can eat delicious home made foods and not be overweight. It's all about how much you eat and how active you are. It's not the culture to blame but our bad choices. In my opinion you can still eat the same foods just in moderation. If you had something that's "bad" for dinner then have light breakfasts and lunch before that.

I'm thirsty
after a month post op I was taking a few sips during meals. but....as people who are trying to loose weight, there are a LOT of habits we need to break right? It's just something you need to do if you want good post op results

Pre-op clothes shopping
don't buy anything, you don't know what size you will need

Maybe I'm doing this wrong...
at 11 days you really shouldn't be eating much anyway. for months after surgery your stomach is swollen from the trauma. Once the swelling goes down you will be able to eat a bit more

I'm thirsty
this is something your surgeon should have gone over with you. Basically drinking while you eat will help push some of the food out of your stomach allowing you to eat more...which defeats the purpose

Shopping list
What does your plan have you on for the first few weeks? Are you on clear liquids only, or just liquids. I would get some broths, gatorade, sugar free popcicles, jello, some crystal light. And of course your protein shakes
-
Samples?
nope, no free samples. I just kept buying individual bottles until I found something I liked

Protein water
Isopure was terrible for me but a lot of people like it. In the store here there are some mixes that look more like a juice than a shake like this one https://store.bariatricpal.com/collections/fruit-drinks/products/bariatricpal-15g-protein-fruit-concentrates-mixed-berry

Speed!
yep eating too fast still makes me throw up post op. Eating slow is still something I struggle with. I try to put my fork down between bites and count to 10, or do something else while I eat like read if I'm eating alone. Finish a page, take a bite

What does "full" feel like
you shouldn't feel "super full". That means you had too much.

Are Protein Bars even worth it?
I don't understand why the quest bars are so popular. They are almost $3 each and taste terrible. I have tried so many flavors and they are all horrible

Are Protein Bars even worth it?
I found some bars that I really like, they have at least 20g of protein and one bar is basically a meal for me. Also I will have half of one if I have a candy bar craving and it works for me. I use them as snacks to help me get more protein in

people not educating themselves
so speaking of nutritionists...would you prefer a skinny one or an overweight one? On one hand the skinny one must know about nutrition to stay skinny, but does he/she understand the struggle with food that an overweight person has, and on the other hand while the overweight nutritionist would understand the struggle, would you not take what they say seriously since he/she is overweight?
