  1. Need more details. What are you having problems with? Also your insides are still swollen and you most likely have some extra restriction making eating more difficult
  2. They have some high protein ones that are good. I stock up on them when they are on sale
  3. Yes I was super depressed after my surgery to the point that my parents had me on a suicide watch. But I also was dealing with my crumbling marriage
  4. The best thing to do is to call your insurance company and ask them
  5. I am more concerned with loose skin than the tiny barely visible scars. I think that if you feel there is a potential for a long term relationship then you should be honest about surgery
  6. I was never told to do puree, just soft food. At two weeks I had no problem with soft foods like canned tuna, avocado, eggs, etc. But if you are in doubt consult your nutritionist
  7. Both surgeries will help with things like diabetes. Weight loss is about the same with both surgeries. With the bypass your intestines are reroutedand your unused stomach stays inside of you. That is what I didn't like about that
  8. I also had the sleeve pleae feel free to message me amd i will gladly share my experiences witj you
  9. I go anywhere I want. My favorite places are sushi restaurants and I just order some pieces alacarte. Or if I'm going to a chain restaurant I just get an appetizer. Or honestly I'll occasionally get a whole meal and take the leftovers home and it's a couple of meals
  10. I feel if you are goi g through this major life changing surgery you need to do your research first. If your nutritionist didn't tell you what to eat, which to me is a huge red flag, then either get a better nutritionist or keep asking them until you get a list and you understand it. That's what the nutritionists are there for. As previously stated, what to eat post op is medical advice which you should get feom medical professionals especially since every plan is different. I've seen some people say they were on liquid for a month and I've seen some people say they were on purees right out of the hospital sp in the end it doesn't really matter what other people ate, it matters what your surgeon and your nutritionist tell you. I understand asking what others are eating, but you should not be asking strangers online what you should be eating
  11. You should eat what your nutritionist tells you to eat
  12. If you want diet soda you can have it a few weeks out. Shake it to get some of the bubbles out. Crystal light and powerade/gatorade are good
  13. I am 8 months post op and i still cant get 8 oz in in one sitting
  14. I was sleeved an also in NJ. Feel free to message me
  15. One, talk to your surgeon if you have questions Two, yes your stomach IS deformed. You just had serious surgery Three, your stomach is very swollen and extra tight. You will not be able to meet your requirements for a little while. Get in what you can
  16. Loosing too much weight is a problem I would like to have
  17. I had the sleeve and lost 175 lbs in 8 months
  18. honestly I was super prepared going in. I had nothing that looking back I wish I knew ahead of time
  19. My opinion...not a popular one...is that at your weight I would not have surgery. Most people don't get surgery hoping NOT to loose a lot of weight. For the record my GOAL weight is 200 lbs
  20. I hope everything goes well I'm surprised your doctor didn't tell you about the pill. Mine tole me right away post op to have another form of birth control as you can't absorb pills correctly post op
  21. NJ has great food..and we're the diner capital of the world lolThat's right !!!! What let of jersey you from ?I am in Middlesex county in Old Bridge
  22. I hate mint but going to put my other chocolate ones in the fridge The pure protein brand ones are not gritty at all.
  23. It's important to have some support, but yes I've seen often that surgery can be a breaking point. You will have to change your lifestyle and he has to be supportive. I can't tell you what to do, except I can recommend that you voice your concerns to him. Maybe take him with you to some of your appointments
  24. for a dessert I've seen people take an ice cream cone, fill it with berries and a few chocolate chip, wrap in foil, and warm up on the grill. Looks good
  25. I found one!!! I'm actually excited about this. I have been buying tons of different bars to figure out which ones taste good. I'm not a huge fan of the Quest bars. They taste bad and cost almost $3 a bar. The ones I found taste like a candy bar, are just over $1, and have a lot of Protein. http://www.pureprotein.com/~/media/pureprotein/product-catalog/products/chewy-chocolate-chip-78-g/chewychocolatechip78gbar.ashx?mw=423&mh=400
