  1. I'm so sorry to keep talking about my personal life But my latest divorce drama has given me a new motivation to work even harder to loose more weight. I want to bump into him months from now and for him to see me looking all sexy and skinny....and maybe on the arm of a good looking guy, while he is still all alone. Is that petty?
  2. everyone is different. I have the sleeve and have never had dumping, even after sugary foods
  3. ....And eating it while relaxing on a Polynesian beach at sunset; followed up by a tropical drink with one of those colorful bamboo umbrellas in it -that is only after waiting 30-45 minutes after eating. But for now, some avocado or "guac" sounds like a good 2nd choice. you forgot to throw in the sexy guy rubbing your shoulders
  4. depends on the food. usually if I eat too much I get very nauseated and will probably throw up. Sometimes I can tell I will throw up when I burp and get that vomit taste in the back of my throat....then I know I need to run to the bathroom.
  5. I find that funny too. The more I read here the more I see how different all of our programs have been for the same surgery. I was on liquids for two weeks, then soft foods for two weeks, then regular foods
  6. I'm not exactly a vet yet, I got sleeved this past September. Right now I can definitely say that I still feel the restriction and I still NEED it. I do have a different relationship with food, but I still LOVE food. I still think about food all the time. Driving home past all the fast food places I do still think about burgers and nuggets and fries. My restriction and horrible feeling after eating greasy fried foods stop me from going in those places. I think that without the sleeve and restriction I would very easily slip back into my old eating habits and regain all the weight, probably plus more, very quickly
  7. One of my favorite things is a version of an eggplant salad take an eggplant and prick it with a knife a couple times, then roast it in the oven until the insides are very soft. then toss it in a food processor with a spoonful of mayo, some salt, and a squirt of lemon juice. Traditionally you also add tahini but I'm not a fan of that also if you're having trouble keeping things down maybe go back to liquids for a little while longer
  8. Me too! I put them in so many things
  9. if you work with it, it will work with you I'm sure you will do great. Just remember it's not a magic wand. It only works if you follow the program best of luck to you
  10. I've thought about it for years. I need to do some marketing for it but I don't know much about that
  11. you can meet those people here. There is a whole board for pregnancy post surgery
  12. Just makes sure you don't have anything solid before the actual surgery
  13. you could still do it with the tuna, egg, and avocado. that was my first soft food and it was awesome!
  14. Take Biotin if you are very worried. I have not had much hair loss. I've always been a shedder and it has not gotten worse post op. skin on the other hand.....
  15. I think it depends on where you plan to put it. I have one on my wrist that was not affected
  16. Funny story about people coming in when you sleep the day of surgery I still had bad apnea. So while lying in the bed, attached to the oxygen monitor, every time I would doze off a nurse would come running in to check on me because suddenly my oxygen level plummeted. Finally they made me wear an oxygen nose tube thing so they wouldn't have to keep running in every couple minutes
  17. My worst slider food is movie theater popcorn. I went to a movie with my brother and he had a coupon for a free large soda and free large popcorn. So I figured I'd just grab a handful and nibble on it. then I grabbed a second handful....and a third...and fourth......and we killed that whole bucket
  18. I think this I have notices some people being friendlier to me but I think a lot is because I myself am happier in general
  19. The worst part was my bloodwork from a month earlier was right there in the chart he was holding
  20. There are a ton of threads about this it might be helpful to read some of those. but each surgery has it's good and bad. You will most likely have great success with either but you have to see which one is right for you. Talk to your surgeon and see what they recommend.
  21. interesting read. I understand the experience with the doctors. I had one doctor who I went to for something totally unrelated to weight and he kept asking me what kind of diabetes medication I was on. No matter how many times I said I wasn't diabetic he kept insisting that at my weight it was impossible not to be diabetic.
  22. eating my tuna salad for lunch and man it came out good I tossed in basically a little bit of everything I had in the fridge. A bit of capers. some green onion, diced bell pepper, diced tomatoes, and a chopped up egg. I mixed it up with a touch of mayo and a splash of the caper juice. SOOOO GOOD! The only thing that would have made this better would have been some avocado
  23. I was surprised at how filling I found salads post op. I can only eat a couple bites
  24. *virtual hug* I understand how you feel. I have social anxiety too. For a long time it helped me that my husband was outgoing and easily made friends. He was my support system when we were out. But now being single for the first time in 12 years I have no friends. What has actually helped me is the website meetup. I searched for something I was interested in and joined a couple of groups. I went to a couple of the meetups and actually had fun.
