  1. That's about what I do. If I don't take a sip I feel like the food gets stuck in my throat. I used to have several of glasses of something while I ate. Not doing that anymore has been one of the hardest parts for me
  2. I hate mint so that sounds terrible to me LOL, but I love to add things to my water to help get it in. In the summer I love to add frozen berries. keeps it cold and infuses it with flavor
  3. I don't think being mexican, or from any specific culture, has anything to do with it. You can eat delicious home made foods and not be overweight. It's all about how much you eat and how active you are. It's not the culture to blame but our bad choices. In my opinion you can still eat the same foods just in moderation. If you had something that's "bad" for dinner then have light breakfasts and lunch before that.
  4. your sleeve, not pouch, will not stretch
  5. after a month post op I was taking a few sips during meals. but....as people who are trying to loose weight, there are a LOT of habits we need to break right? It's just something you need to do if you want good post op results
  6. don't buy anything, you don't know what size you will need
  7. at 11 days you really shouldn't be eating much anyway. for months after surgery your stomach is swollen from the trauma. Once the swelling goes down you will be able to eat a bit more
  8. this is something your surgeon should have gone over with you. Basically drinking while you eat will help push some of the food out of your stomach allowing you to eat more...which defeats the purpose
  9. What does your plan have you on for the first few weeks? Are you on clear liquids only, or just liquids. I would get some broths, gatorade, sugar free popcicles, jello, some crystal light. And of course your protein shakes
  10. nope, no free samples. I just kept buying individual bottles until I found something I liked
  11. that's awesome!! congrats, keep up the good work!
  12. any fruit. I add frozen berries to my protein shakes, I eat oranges, grapefruit, watermelon, grapes, apples...
  13. Isopure was terrible for me but a lot of people like it. In the store here there are some mixes that look more like a juice than a shake like this one https://store.bariatricpal.com/collections/fruit-drinks/products/bariatricpal-15g-protein-fruit-concentrates-mixed-berry
  14. yep eating too fast still makes me throw up post op. Eating slow is still something I struggle with. I try to put my fork down between bites and count to 10, or do something else while I eat like read if I'm eating alone. Finish a page, take a bite
  15. you shouldn't feel "super full". That means you had too much.
  16. Can someone tell me some more about this event? I can't find a website for it. Do post op people go to this?....also I know this is not reallu relevant but can someone please tell the guy making the facebook posts that you do not add 's to something to make it plural
  17. AC os over two hours away for me so I woukd make a weekend out of it
  18. get some gatorade it will help with dehydration better than Water and go see your surgeon. Call their office and tell them what is going on.
  19. I don't understand why the quest bars are so popular. They are almost $3 each and taste terrible. I have tried so many flavors and they are all horrible
  20. I am 8 months post sleeve...my worst experience so far? Not doing this sooner!!! I have no negatives
  21. that sounds great and I would love to go, when is it? I probably couldn't afford the hotel anyway
  22. I found some bars that I really like, they have at least 20g of protein and one bar is basically a meal for me. Also I will have half of one if I have a candy bar craving and it works for me. I use them as snacks to help me get more protein in
  23. so speaking of nutritionists...would you prefer a skinny one or an overweight one? On one hand the skinny one must know about nutrition to stay skinny, but does he/she understand the struggle with food that an overweight person has, and on the other hand while the overweight nutritionist would understand the struggle, would you not take what they say seriously since he/she is overweight?
