Omg c-sections were so much worse than this! I too held my pee till I couldn't hold it no more and the nurse didn't want me to walk yet, she brought me a bed pan and I couldn't pee no matter what! As soon as the nurse left, I told hubby to unhook me from my compression socks and unplug my IV. Once I got up to pee, I never wanted to sit back down. It felt so much better to walk around...as soon as I laid down the gas would come back. I'm a week and a half out and am full of energy. Best choice I've made for MYSELF EVER!!!

Don't waste a moment of your life not living anymore. I know all of us here probably share that as a regret. All the days we wasted saying, someday when I loose this weight I will.....honor your dad by grabbing life with both hands and really living! I have done so many things I had put off for so long this year after my surgery. In truth, I really began getting out there after only loosing a little weight but, it was a promise to me that I was doing this! Not just the surgery, not just weight loss but pushing my limits. I got in a bathing suit, went to Water parks, went tubing, went to the beach in my bathing suit (no cover up) and wore a sleeveless shirt! Also, I I make myself look in the full length mirror now, and I don't mind what I see! You girls can't imagine how life will be seven months from today. How different you will move in the world and the world will move around you. The beginning is tough but, I know you girls will stay strong together for eachother and for your dad. Please feel free to message me any time, I would love to stay in touch and see how your both doing. I know your dad would be very proud.

Being overweight is a shared trait in my family. I've struggled... we've all struggled our whole lives... My sisters and I were trying to talk my father into getting weightloss surgery. He was too ashamed and embarrassed to ask his doctor about it. He thought that he should've been able to do it himself, and that asking for help would make him weak. This past May he passed away in his sleep. He was only 58. There is no doubt in my mind that this surgery would have saved his life. My dad should still be here. In the midst of this heartbreaking time in my life, I've discovered I was just like him. I love my dad (he will forever be my Superman), and I never in a million years would have thought that being like him was a bad thing... I never had considered getting weightloss surgery for myself because like my father, I thought I should be able to do it myself. I've tried... and failed... and tried... and failed so much that I kind of lost faith in myself. I've realized that asking for help is the most courageous thing I can do. It can save my life like it should have saved my father's. My sister and I are scheduled to get gastric bypass surgery in Mexico on September 25th. I'm very excited about starting a new life with a new lifestyle, and I know that my Dad will be watching. I'm determined to make him proud.

What was your turning point? That one thing that really bothered you about your weight? I for one, can't wait to ride stuff with my kids. I can't wait to wear my heels without having my legs shake from the instability of a 300+lb body at an incline!!!! I am most looking forward to my kids being able to hug me completely with their arms totally around my waist!!! You must have these small goals, find some and think about it long and hard when those shrimps start teasing you again!!!

No, we don't hunt. We buy beef roasts and bison roasts and we have a meat slicer. We slice the meat and use different jerky seasoning packets from Academy and/or Cabela's. We just slice the meat, marinate it, then dehydrate it. Once it's ready, we use our kitchen scale and divide it up into 1 ounce bags. We usually get about 28 ounces of jerky out of 4 to 5 pounds of meat. It works out to just under a dollar per ounce of high quality jerky.

I say give people a break and if you don't feel like reading a long run on post, Don't!
There are some of us on here that try to read every post because if someone is reaching out they likely need help.
To someone else's point you have no idea of how they are posting nor their level of education and more importantly it should not matter.
They need help! I for one will continue to read every post that I can and help where I can.

I can forgive spelling errors for the most parts, just because I understand the prevalence of mobile devices. I can also forgive grammar problems with people that English is a second language. So the examples of lose/loose and there/they're/their I can chalk up to autocorrect or translation problems.
However, when someone post a paragraph that I have to read several times, then check to make sure they are from US, then read again and I still don't understand it; I just close the tab. I imagine the spell checker on their computers and/or mobile devices are just like, "I got nothing dude. WTF are you trying to say?!"

I say cut them some slack. Not everybody is good at everything, some people are good at math, but have poor writing skills. Another may remember historical facts very well, but struggle with spelling, punctuation, etc. On this board, a persons poor writing skills might be pretty obvious, but what you're not seeing are that persons other skills, important things like kindness, a giving heart, good manners, positive attitude and willingness to help others. Just sayin '.

You need protein: to heal from surgery; to build muscle and tissue, like skin; to avoid losing muscle in organs (like your heart); to let your body know it is not starving/keep your metabolism running; and to not feel hungry.
According to my surgeon, getting enough Protein is what helps us both heal and lose weight. If we do not get enough Protein, our body thinks it is a time of famine and will store everything it can to keep from starving, even if we are consuming enough calories.

You've got this. Every day it will get better....physically or mentally. I'm 10 weeks out and I crave different stuff all day. I just let my mind think whatever...I can't eat it. I think we'll have these cravings until our minds catch up with our stomachs. We've eaten anything and everything for years. We've got this. Good luck. ❤️

I eat a lot of cool stuff, the hardest was the Soup phase for two weeks, cream mushroom, chicken, celery, etc... Yuk!!!! Soft was great I had been craving eggs and probably cooked them differently everyday for like 2 weeks, lol, I realized after two months out that I could have a lot of what I craved, shrimp, steak, fish, crabs, etc. only 4oz at a time, take a step back and realize you will have all that again, only in moderation, so you will get the taste fix, but you have to learn that your portions are the new standard, BTW I now hate McDonalds, it smells bad to me( side effect) I can smell when the meat is sour, and the oil is old, and I really don't like sweets anymore, i craving fruit at times, hang in there, it catches up to your stomach way before your head.... I promise

When you want to quit remember why you started! You will have cravings,You will desire what you shouldn't have, Be strong! and just think about what you put in your mouth before you do, I take comfort that I'm not alone with this tough task, there are a lot of people that are in a tougher situation than us, you made the right choice by having the surgery, It was a big step in the right direction You put yourself on for a healthier future and I'm sure for a longer life, Just keep being strong and continue to make the choices and you will see results every week. I was second guessing myself also but I regain my focus and saw that i put myself in the situation I was in to need the surgery,Then when I eat I get full quick and that's my safety net that catches me and keeps me on track! Protein first and veggies second.
I wish You the very best! and remember you are not alone!
