I was 38. Starting weight of 429lbs and I'm currently around 240 I think. I quit weighing daily. It slows my progress somehow. I had RNY.

Biochem makes a great Protein Powder that has no artificial sweeteners in it. The sugar count is at 6 g so be aware so may dump on it, some won't. It does contain stevia though, but it's not as strong as it is in other Protein Shakes I've had.

Sajijoma got a reaction from sweesee in How do I tell my surgeon he screwed up?
Don't walk in saying "you screwed up" and list a laundry list of why you know it is so. Make an appt, go into his office and tell him you are concerned and then tell him your reasons why, but just don't be accusatory. It's possible that it was done correct and your anatomy and physiology along with your eating habits have made it otherwise. Part of this is going to be on you though for not measuring out and limiting your portions to begin with despite the lack of restriction, but there may be something else going on and a simple Bariatric swallow test should show if there is an abnormality in the size of your pouch. If it comes back that all is well with your sleeve, you really should follow up with your NUT and psych to make a plan to get back on track, because I have a feeling there is more to the eating a 20oz steak than just in a delightful conversation. Even with a full size stomach I couldn't eat a 20oz steak although it never stopped me from trying. You could be just pushing the food out the bottom into your intestines or something.

Sajijoma reacted to Djmohr in Questions about your forever diet after surgery
I am nearly 2 years post op and maintaining. My diet has changed significantly for the better however I still eat some of the things I love just in moderation.
There are things that I simply wont touch like any fast food crap of any kind. Any processed food of any kind. I make 99% of my meals at home and if I dont, I am careful about where I eat and what I choose to eat. I prefer good quality Protein, veggies and fruit because this is the food that keeps me full longer.
On occasion I will eat rice or Pasta but will usually choose a whole wheat or whole grain option instead of what I used to eat.
If I do eat bread I also prefer a whole grain bread although I do occasionally eat a simple piece of bread. If I do too much of this sort of thing I tend to get hypoglycemia so I am careful.
When I want a treat, it is usually dark chocolate.
Maintenance is the hardest part of this process in my opinion. I find that I can gain weight very quickly but the good news is, If I go off track, my tool is right there to help me get it together and those couple of pounds will come off rather quickly. I battle with the same 5lbs up and down and I am under my goal regardless.
Gaining is my biggest fear. I love my new much smaller body and I want to keep it there. I purchased all new clothes and I dont want to go in the wrong direction so I am careful about how far and how often I wander from my plan.

You shouldnt eat thinking you will feel full. We have a nerve that isnt working right now to let you know when you are full. I am 4 months out and dont have a full feeling. But I will get symptoms of runny nose and things like that. You should be measuring how much you eat and not eat until its gone.
You shouldnt be eating noodles at this point. They expand in the pouch and you should be all about Proteins not any carbs or sugars.
You just started this way of life and you are bored of liquids and not following your plan, not measuring how much your eating. You can eat all day long if you want, but that isnt going to lead to weightloss.
Just because it fits doesn't mean you should eat that much. If you want food to pile up in your esophagus and have that stretch, or a leak then keep going down that road.
This is a tool, not a magic wand. You have to change your eating habits and be mindful of what and how much goes in.
    Good luck.

It's fine to ask if the comparison is fun and interesting to you. You and anyone who responds are not each other, though. You won't necessarily have the same track record as those who've been losing most rapidly. You'll probably do very well, but keep realistic expectations. You must have read Hamlet along the way. Polonius' advice to Laertes will serve you well:
This above all, to thine own scale be true...

    All the best to you.

Unfortunately there are very real medical reasons they won't operate on you while you're sick. Could you lie and just not tell them you're sick? Probably. But I would highly recommend doing this by the book and keeping your medical team informed about this, and they can decide what to do about it and where to go from here. It would be better to postpone your surgery a couple weeks (or maybe even less) than to risk your health by going under and trying to recover from a major surgery while your immune system is trying to fight something else. Best of luck to you! sleep, drink fluids, and take good care of yourself.

Sajijoma got a reaction from heather5565 in Today I am officially not "plus sized" what a colossal NSV for me!
I went shopping today because I desperately needed pants that fit. I wasn't sure what would fit so I tried on 16's and they were too big. Then I tried on 14's and they were kinda loose. I thought just for jiggles I'd try on some 12's and they fit! I was so shocked I actually broke down crying in the changing room. I have always been good at keeping my emotions locked down tight, but in there at that moment, I totally lost it and started bawling and LOUD. The changing room attendant knocked on the door and asked if I was ok. It took me awhile, but I managed to get the words out that I was ok and that I had found out I was a smaller size than I thought I was. I'M sure she thought I had lost my ever loving mind, but for me, this is a monumental thing. I had been an overweight kid and an obese adult, my entire life! The size I put on and zipped up, I NEVER had been that size. The closest I had to being that size was a size 11 juniors in 4th grade, so here I am, over 30yrs later and I am finally smaller than I was in 4th grade. It was monumental. I also discovered why it's important to check the price tag before falling in love with a pair of pants because $115 for a pair of pants I probably won't get more than a couple months wear out of was just too much, so I had to put them back. Broke my heart, but I did go on to find other 12's and some 14's that worked and I am officially not plus sized anymore. I can shop in the regular section with all the cute clothes!❤️ From 32/34 and some 36 down to a size 12 in less than a year...all I can say is wow! Thanks RNY for giving me a life I didn't know was attainable!
