  1. I am going to Mexico as well. I am a self paying patient and being that I was a Hospital Corpsman in the Navy for 10 years, I definitely did my homeowork. I would say as lots of questions. In particular, ask what kind of band they will be inserting. Is it FDA aproved? That will play a big part in after while in the states. It could happen where you are not able to get a fill in Mexico. If the band is not FDA aproved, American Docs won't want to do the fill. My surgery date is this Thursday, so say a prayer everyone!
  2. What is the average number of fills for a person? Also, am I to understand you have fills every time you don't feel restriction, or hit a plateau? Thanks everyone.
  3. Good heavens, why did you make me do it :scared: Okay, okay I was going to use this as my offical before picture anyway. Before.bmp
  4. It's definitely great to read eveybody's posts. Say a prayer for me folks, as I go under the knife this Friday. I know the lord gave me his okay. I was in tears as I was reading the success stories of others who had the surgery and just cried out to the lord. I was tired of being fat and have been since my early teens. I know it will take more than just the band and frankly, need to pray God helps me with the reasons as to why I turn to food, instead of him for life's troubles. By the way folks, what is the average amount of fills one needs to have? I want to loose 90lbs.
  5. Wow, thank you on behalf of all of us who are needing to know the ins and outs of fills!
  6. I will be getting my surgery next week in Mexico as well. Where are the two Doctors in San Diego, as I am in Hemet?

  8. :peace:My surgery will be the 4th of January. I am both nervous and excited. I weigh 228 now and my doc told me I didn't have to do a pre-op diet. Has anyone else been told that?
  9. Finally, I have saved up enough to have the surgery and am scheduled next week on the 4th :clap2:. I have told many people I will be having the surgery, and am suprized at how many people also, have had it. They tell me of their weight loss and I am most encouraged. Anything else to tell me that perhaps, you wish someone else had mentioned to you? Thanks All.
  10. Good for you! I read you had the surgery for your girls. I will be having my surgery next week, on the 4th. Any last minute advice? Would you do it again? I think, there is no question in my mind. I have struggled with losing weight my entire life, just pray I won't be hurting to much!
  11. Wow. So, where did you have your surgery may I ask?
  12. Hey everyone, I am new too. From Hemet. You guys?
  13. I have read in the handout, we should have milk. I am a coffeeholic. Is is permissable to have a sugar free latte' with soy or non fat milk? How much will I be able to drink?
  14. Wow, good for you! I am Julia and planning on getting banded as soon as I am financed. I am hoping in about 1-2 weeks after the holliday. Please, tell me more about your experience as I would love to know. Did you get a partial fill or are you empty? How much water or liquids can you drink and lastly, can you take vitamins or pills, or must they be liquid? Thanks and congratulations!
  15. Hello folks, my name is Julia and this is my first time posting to the forum. I have enjoyed the posts and am so encouraged by the weight loss you all have had. Like many of you, I have tried every diet, pill and frankly, drastic measure for weight loss there is! I enjoy exerciseing and have that going for me, but even while in the military, I had a weight problem. I am 100% certain I will be having this surgery. Right now, I am just working with the financing options. Hey, has anyone got advice for me with the Meixico Doctors choice of finance companies? I would like some input too, on what the handouts say about an aproximate loss of 38% as being realistic. Based on the success pictures I see and what I have read alot of you folks saying, people seem to loose more? What do you all think?
