  1. Thank you everyone! I have been in denial for a long time. I am going to make an appointment and take one of my cheerleaders from home with me, (my mom or my other friend that said she would go with me to the doc) and get a new fill, follow a better eating plan and do what my friend does each and every morning even on vacation, gets up and either runs, (not something I ever think I'll do) bikes or powerwalks. She takes 1/2 hour to herself every AM and it is her time away. I think this would be good for me also. Thanks for letting me back in to this board and your helpful answers. I am looking forward to my 1st 20lbs to feel refreshed and renewed! Along with more comfortable clothes again. Thanks again, I plan on being here for encouragement along the way. Thanks again! Schel
  2. I had surgery in 2005, lost about 30lbs after surgery, and now am 30+ pounds at my highest weight before surgery. Last fill 2006. Never went back because I am ashamed and don't think this is working for me. I am considering converting to full gastric bypass. What should I do call and go in for a fill? Make a consult appt with my surgeon? ( I really don't want to do this) I don't care for my surgeon. I am so discussed with myself. I think I need a heads up. Please advise. Thanks. Michelle
  3. Hi, Havn't been here in a long time. I had my band put in in 2005, and not a fill since 2006. I know I know I need to get my butt back in to get a fill. Anyways after this morning I will not be on anything but liquids. Went with my son for Breakfast and we shared a meal since I can't eat a whole on anyways, had about 3 bites of hashbrowns and started with pain and pain and then eyes watering and then slime, PB city!! Went to the bathroom and proceded to PB and slime, went back out to table miserable and urged my son to finish up quickly, got a to go box for the rest of the food, paid and went out to the truck and proceded to puke out there really freaking my son out. Anyways it was the longest trip home pulling over every other mile to spit up slime and when I got home still throwing up. Starting to get worried at this point because this is the longest I have ever done this. I have had a handful only of times PB'ing in my past this by far is the worst. Wish I would have known about the pineapple juice before, not quite sure it would have worked at that point though. Thought I was going to die!! Not planning on eating the rest of the day, Protein shakes and liquids only. So tell me am I doing the right thing with liquids? Thanks Schel
  4. Ok so I already posted here and this is my first day back and baby steps. I resisted the cupcakes on my counter at home... I resisted the m&m cookies someone brought into work and ate my grapes... I exercised 15 minutes on my Gazelle when I said I was only going to do 10 this morning. I have had an egg and egg white, 1/2 cup blueberries, coffee with my Sugar Free cream, A Boca Chicken Burger minus the bun, had a 2% slice of cheese on it with a fresh garden tomato cut up on it. and Now I am still at work and all I can think about is food and that it is 6:31 PM and I should not be eating before going to bed. I do not get out of here until 7:30 PM and have to be back at 8:00 AM tomorrow AM. Ok, I have wrote it down and now am going to make sure I do not mess up the first day back!!! Thanks for letting me vent. Schel
  5. Hi Jared, I copied and pasted this from another thread, I probably should have put here under support. I am going through this myself right now and have an idea of how you might be feeling right now. I am basically starting ALL over. Baby steps for me. I hope you can get back on track as well as hope I can get back on track I will start my morning with 2 glasses of H2o and at least 10 minutes on my Gazelle I just had to have and it now collects dust... Keep me informed of how you are doing. Schel So here it is for you to read, what we said... I need some advise... Havn't been here in a long while... Banded in November 2005, and 5 fills total in my history of my band. Have an appointment next week to go for a fill, however am thinking of canceling for the 5th time now in 5 months.... Scared of my surgeon, scared to be scolded, scared to be told theres nothing else they can do for me... lost at first, and have gained all my weight back including 7 lbs...So I am above my presurgery weight. My last fill was June of 2006 and have not been back since. I do have restriction and even PB at times. Scared to have a larger fill and not be able to eat only the bad stuff which goes down to well. What should I do? My mom thinks I should go in for the fill and said she would go with me for support. I really need some words of wisdom. Please be honest with me and tell me what you think. Thank you. Schel And Cindilou29 said… Schel, you're not going to like my answer but I think you need some tough love here. You've got to get your head back in the game. If you eat junk, it doesn't matter what they do for you, you're going to gain it back. This is an opportunity for you to re-commit yourself to this band. Get the fill, tell them how you feel and talk to a nutritionist to get back on track. Really, you need to figure out why you don't want to use this tool that you have. There's a reason and only you know what it is. Do you really want to lose weight? There's something holding you back from achieving that weight loss. You can PB and not be too tight. If you don't follow the rules (ie you eat too fast or take bites that are too large, etc) you're going to PB even if you have just a teeny bit of restriction. Keep your appointment. If a fill is not right for you, then he won't do it but you owe it to yourself to give this another try. Tell him what you're feeling. Tell him your fears. Trust me, it won't be the first time he's heard it. And don't be afraid of a little scolding. I'm sorry to say this but maybe you need it. Let your Mom go with you so you can lean on her for support. This won't be an easy thing but you have to do it. Did you go through all of this to give up now? You're stronger than that. You can do this, Schel. I know you can and more importantly, somewhere in there you know you can too. You never would have done the surgery if you didn't think you had it in you to succeed. Please don't cancel the appointment again. You owe it to yourself to try to get back on track. Cut out the junk. If that's too hard, then just cut back. Every baby step is getting you closer to your goal. You just have to DO it. Remember, a journey of 1000 miles begins with one single step. You can take one step, can't you? That's not overwhelming, right? Tomorrow, try to eat following the rules. If that's too much, eat one meal following the rules. Then the next day try for 2 meals. YOU CAN DO THIS. Keep us updated. You're in my thoughts and prayers. And I said… Thanks! I will keep my appointment. I think I just made my 1st right choice. Yesterday when at the store, my son was begging for cupcakes. So I gave in and this morning when I got up, what did I do? I grabbed them was going to open it up and pushed it away and came to the computer instead. Feels good that I did this, but the evil voice in my brain is still saying go eat it! Wish I could put a band around the evil voice in my head! I will not put one bite of the cup cake in my mouth and will have a healthy Breakfast with my son this morning before going to work. Thanks, I know this is just a baby step, and everyone here will be hearing from me a lot more as I need to get away from the food, I shall type type type! Thanks. Schel

  8. Not sure whats going on. Have not been here in a long time. Things have not gone real well with my surgery. Not sucessful at all. However, the other night, I PB'd on roast made in the crock pot, and now can not eat very much at all. (That's good, I thought, maybe I might actually loose some weight now) I feel really full to the point of uncomfortable with eating only a small amount and liquids go down, but slow now. Does anyone think my band could have slipped? What sx are there for slippage and erosion? Schel
  9. Im in! 35 minutes on my Gazelle! Schel
  10. Thanks for the support. I am going to get on my Gazelle this evening!!! Schel
  11. Anyone have a 10cc band with more than 8cc in it? Schel
  12. Havn't been here in 7 or 8 months. My anniversary date is November 21, 2005. Havn't lost a thing since surgery. My fill is at 8cc in a 10cc band. (Is there much more room for any more fill?) Havn't gone the doc in shame I am, from not loosing. Yes I have it coming. Some tough love. So I need it! Let me have it. I should NOT be where I am. I need to exercise I know. Please let me have it because I think I need a reality check!! Why have I done this to myself? Feeling very frustrated. Schel P.S. Before I did this thread, I made my fill appointment. I promise I will go and not cancel.
  13. :sick Hello! I have a nasty case of GI sickness not sure if it was something I ate or a bug of some sort. Anything I should be aware of with this? I have diarrhea and thankfully no vomiting. ( Which is good because then I'd be afraid with vomiting, slippage of my band. ) Let me know and thanks for your help! Schel
  14. I had my band placed Nov of 2005. Fills went very slow, and until recently when finally getting to 8cc, I am finally starting to loose very slowly, but at least not staying the same any more. Schel
  15. Just want to let everyone know, I think I know what my "sweet spot" is finally. I have no desire to eat and if I do, I am full and satisfied after about a cup of food and not hungry for a long time. Thanks again for the great advise to get back on track and go for my fill. Schel
