July 29, 200619 yr :sick Hello! I have a nasty case of GI sickness not sure if it was something I ate or a bug of some sort. Anything I should be aware of with this? I have diarrhea and thankfully no vomiting. ( Which is good because then I'd be afraid with vomiting, slippage of my band. ) Let me know and thanks for your help! Schel
July 29, 200619 yr Unless you begin to vomit, you should be okay. I'm sorry to hear you're sick. Please drink lots of fluids to remain hydrated.
July 29, 200619 yr Remember the word "B.R.A.T."..... B= Bananas R= Rice it can also mean chicken noodle Soup and mashed potatoes A= Applesauce T = Toast or crackers These things firm up the stool...no juice or milk (make diarrhea worse) --try gatorade or Powerade for electrolytes. Hope your feeling better!! God Bless, Melody Banded 3/20/06 -70lbs
July 29, 200619 yr Hi Schel, Sorry to hear you are feeling yucky. Ive had a stomach bug a couple of times during my banded career. Like you, I had diarrhea - no vomiting (extreme nausea though). The only thing I could tolerate was warm/hot chicken broth * sip sip away * and pop sickles. ...Oh, and lots of rest and sleep. Hope you feel better soon.
