  1. Awesome pictures DeLarla, especially the one in Bryce Canyon! Beautiful!
  2. Thanks Kathy! Frankly, I believe I am one of those people with a bonafide chemical imbalance in my brain. I have absolutely no reason to feel this way; I am tremendously blessed! My life is seriously great! Yet, I feel like crying for no reason and now almost constantly. I have an appointment with my PCP (Internist) next Wednesday. During my surgical evaluation, the psychologist admonished me to be aware of depression when told her I had stopped taking meds. I thought I was going to be OK, but I can't function like this.
  3. Dianne/All, No news yet from doctor or insurance. I'm trying to be patient, but with the holidays no longer here to distract me, it's getting harder. I'm going back to my PCP and back on antidepressants. I'm not doing so good in that realm right now. I'm rejoining the YMCA today; that's good news.
  4. I haven't been banded yet, but did find the surgeon I'm going to through one of Inamed's websites: http://www.lap-band.com/
  5. Welcome Charlee! I wish you the greatest success in your banded endevors !
  6. Ditto from a hopeful future bandee! You folks are awesome!
  7. Magic, how are you doing?
  8. Mrs Sabre replied to DeLarla's topic in The Lounge
    You're funny You're feeling better?
  9. CNN.com had a write up on the pros & cons of RNY vs the band this morning: http://www.cnn.com/2006/HEALTH/conditions/01/02/obesity.surgery.ap/index.html
  10. That is so awesome! I can only imagine, but hope to do the same with the help of the band.
  11. This list was compiled from suggestions made by banded folks here at LBT. Some suggestions are not applicable to everyone; so if uncertain whatsoever please consult your surgeon! I've split it into four sections. Can someone plase make this into a "Sticky" thread? Thanks! 12. Happy New Year eveyone! I'm back from a quiet long weekend with my parents. Outside of my Dad coming down with some sort of respiratory gunk, everyone is doing well.
  13. Welcome aboard! I too hope you can join us for lunch in January! Awesome progress!
  14. Kim, I never planned on learning how to ride. My DH's last bike had passenger pegs that where so high it was uncomfortable to ride on the back. That's when I decided to learn how to ride, took the class, and got my own. My first was a 250 cc Suzuki; my second a Kawasaki ZR-7; and now I have the Sabre. Even though I love to drive, I still enjoy hopping on the back from time to time, leaving the driving to John, and relaxing
  15. Road Queen, what's next? Another Road King or something else?
  16. Welcome home! Hope you feel well soon.
  17. Angie, outside of wanting a band to help in weight loss, I'm planning on gettting my house organized. I want to go through all of the drawers and closets throughout and organize, clean, and/or otherwise throw out anything that isn't being used. HAPPY NEW YEAR!
  18. Betty, the only thing that has saved me from bugs and other UFOs is a full-face helmet w/visor. I've been fortunate enough to not have anything bigger than a praying mantis hit while riding the interstate. Eileen, I ditto Randy. I took the class five years ago, and didn't ride a lick before. DeLarla (I'm sorry I can't remember your given name), what model Harleys do you ride?
  19. Mrs Sabre replied to Road Queen's topic in The Lounge
God bless you both! Our thoughts and prayers go with you!
  20. "Crotch Rocketeers" ... that's cute! My husband rides a crotch rocket, but is a more conservative rider than a lot of them, i.e. full gear all the time and cautious. I'm sure a lot of it has to do with being 43 too.
  21. Randy, congrats on riding Deal's Gap! Although I've been riding for 5 years now, the combination of big hills and lots of curves still unnerve me ... probably because I get very little practice on them. I've only been to the Asheville and Boone, NC mountain areas a couple of times. I'm OK going uphill on curvy mountain roads, but I border on anxiety attacks coming back down. That's not to say I won't go again, and again. To minimize the panic, I just take my sweet time coming down.
  22. These lists are awesome! I'll give it a few more days and then put all the suggestions together into one grand list. How/who makes posts "sticky"?
  23. Betty, very nice! Please tell, what is on your lisence plate?
  24. There appears to be a number of bikers on this board. My husband and I both ride. He has a 2004 Suzuki Hayabusa. He's added a Yosimura exhaust. ... and I drive a 2004 Honda Shadow Sabre. I've added Cobra drag pipes and freeway bars so far. I'd like to do a cushy seat and windsheild next. I didn't have pictures of our actual bikes handy, so I nabbed these off the web. The makes/colors are right.
