  1. Kim, your birthday lunch sounded really nice! I expect to get off from work early today, but I don't know if that will be 12 noon or 2 p.m.? I'm packed and leaving straight from work to Princeton, WV to spend the weekend with my folks. I look forward to the trip, but I'm also ready to have the holidays over and get on with the New Year. 2005 wasn't bad per say, but I'm hoping/thinking 2006 is going to be good. At very least, I hope to get banded early next year I pray everyone has a safe, happy, and healthy New Year celebration!
  2. What things are must haves pre & post LB operation? This is the only one I've heard specifically & often mentioned - 1. Gas X After getting everyone's input, this might make a good "sticky" post?
  3. Mine is more of a big "to do" than a resolution, but it will still take time and planning. I'm going to clean/organize all of my drawers and closets this year.
  4. My husband kept fussing about my user name being my actual name. As of now, I (Karen) will be known as Mrs Sabre in "honor" of my Honda Shadow Sabre motorcycle I keep getting logged off; so my posts will be short until I can figure out why. Happy New Year everyone! I'm heading to WV this weekend to Celebrate a belated Christmas with my folks. I'm ready to start the New Year!
  5. I don't know if anyone else is experiencing this, but since the changes to the board, I am being logged out after just a very few minutes (~5 minutes) I can be writing a post and get logged out before finishing. Please help.
  6. Congratulations Magic! I can't wait to meet you; please say you're coming to lunch in January?
  7. Inamed does a certification program in which they proxy and/or assist doctors during Lap-Band surgery. If a doctor moves, he has to be recertified. I don't know if this certification is required or optional, but my surgeon is in the process of being recertified after moving, and I feel a sense of added comfort knowing it.
  8. Your first PB ... congratulations? Sounds like you have some restriction now; I'm sure it will help in your ongoing weight loss. Good luck & God Bless!
  9. OMG Kim! That is absolutely awesome! :banana :banana :banana :banana
  10. Kim, I don't think I'd get too worked up over 2 pounds I'm going to go look at your before and after pictures. Since I see you shrink before my eyes, I'm sure those pics are awesome! Another year older? When was your birthday; and Happy Belated Birthday at that! Christmas was kind of quiet, but really nice. Work is going to be very quiet this week, which is also nice!

Good luck and God bless! I too wish a speedy recovery for you!
  12. Depending upon the time of surgery and how you do after, Dr. Kuwada keeps you at least one night and sometimes two.
  13. Everything is going to be late this year. I'll mail cards and packages tomorrow. I think things not working out as I'd planned was God's way of having me remember what we're celebrating and taking the emphasis away from the material aspect of it.
  14. Merry Christmas to everyone from cold, but sunny Charlotte NC
  15. Yep, I can sympathize; I had strep throat on Christmas when I was 11. Between the fever and sore throat, I didn't care what Santa brought; I laid on the couch and slept all day. She still has a couple of days to recover; maybe she'll be OK. I'm so thoughtless; I forgot to mention that my DH is home sick too! His is viral and seems to be clearing up fairly quickly.
  16. Justina (Dr's insurance person) called yesterday. UHC approvals are valid for 90 days. Per Dr. Kuwada's instructions to her, if 60 days or under they'd hold off on sending my letter; if over 60 days they'd go ahead and send it. Hopefully it's already dictated and can go out very soon. I may not have a quick surgery date, but hopefully I'll know whether or not my insurance will cover it. Justina also told me that Dr. Kuwada fights denials and has yet to lose an appeal
  17. lunch at my desk for the last two days, but I may make it home on time tonight  My 22-year old daughter started out with bronchitis last week; she went back to the doctor today, still running a fever. Now it's settled into her chest and turned into pneumonia! This will be a Christmas she'll remember.
  18. Angie, my heart jumped when I read your first post, and then I caught my breath again after the second one! What a relief! I hope you feel well over the holidays and don't have any more attacks!
  19. Congratulations Magic! I am so happy for you, especially with what you went through to get here!
  20. Best of luck with your fill; I'll say a prayer for you! Do I recall that you went or are going on a cruise? Hope to see you at our next lunch in January!
  21. It's the week before Christmas, and I'm still working at 6:30 pm It looks like the rest of my week is going to go this way too. Oh well, I'd best get back to it; the sooner I get it done, the quicker I can go home!
  22. I too hope Dr. Bauman can do the surgery for you! I hate that you're going through this, but like Jamie said, at least you won't be bothered with painful gallbladder attacks again.
  23. Between illness, injury, surgery, and plain old holiday chaos, this hasn't been the easiest Christmas season for most of us! I pray we all have a happy, healthy, prosperous, and peaceful New Year! Anyone making resolutions? I don't usually, but this year I'm going to resolve to get my life re-organized!
  24. Angie, we're thinking of you! I'm praying everything will go well. Please keep us posted!
  25. Your Christmas miracle has arrived; this is so awesome! I'm praying for you!
