You should send her a picture of some pants that you just bought and say, "I bet you wish you could wear these". I think that would be pretty funny.

tcon reacted to Elode in The fear of regain is REAL!
I have a tremendous fear of regaining the weight that I've lost. I was going through some recent pictures of the 3 family members of mine that have had WLS. Two had Gastric bypass and the (blonde pink shirt) had sleeve surgery 6 months before I did. All have regained weight, they don't look like they even had surgery. None of them ever reached any goal. These are current post (last week). The part that aggravates me is the excuses they come up with and the comments about how I'm just "lucky" that I lost so "easily". I see all the food post. It's not my place to call them out on the food they are eating. Seeing this can be discouraging at times but most of the time it makes me want to do anything possible NOT to end up like that. Maybe I'm wrong for using them as my motivation to succeed but it does scare me. I never know what to say when the remarks come in about how well I've done and all my so called "luck". What do you do?! I keep these pictures as my reminder of what can/will happen if I don't stick with my plan. Which just helped me stop at 6 1/2 Cheetos! Of course I've blocked all identity from the pictures for their privacy. Its not "luck" it's a constant "just say NO!" Attitude I have to food. It's not easy, it's never going to be easy. That's my reality. It's just a tool nothing more and nothing less.

tcon reacted to Babbs in Elliptical - How long did you last your first time? lol
I was like you at first. I could barely do a minute. Like the poster above said, I started a Couch 25K program 9 months ago, and that REALLY built my tolerance up. Now I can run 3 miles on the treadmill, and probably can go 4 on the elliptical if I wanted. You gotta start slow and build up tolerance. Just takes consistency and time

Two week post-op check and I was down 17lbs. I feel wonderful I know this surgery is going to work for me because I'm going to make it work.

(blush)
I actually do like my Protein drink -- GNC Lean 25 shake - Swiss chocolate and (lately) pumpkin Spice. I still have 4-5 Protein shakes a week for Breakfast when I'm on the run.
So sue me!
And I also like walking, especially one route that goes around a beautiful park.
Yeah, I'm just a teacher's pet, hall monitor, kinda kid. LOL!

tcon reacted to Queen of Crop in 4 years ago today, I was wheeled into surgery...
Four years ago today I had no idea how my life was about to change. On October 28, 2011, at age 58, I was wheeled into an operating room in Frankfurt, Germany, and like many of the readers here, a big part of my stomach was removed and a huge hope for the future replaced it.
My hope for a healthier life — where I looked and felt better, had more energy, and could move easily — not only came true but far exceeded even my wildest dreams.
It seems only appropriate on this anniversary date that I look back on these last four years and tell others how grateful I am to have had this shot at such a magical life. I know there are still many people who read my blog who have not yet had the surgery, and it’s important to me that this might be the push they need. That this is not just another diet that will last a few months. I’m living proof that you can have this surgery and four years later live life as a normal-weight person without dieting.
You can read the rest here: www.queenofcrop.com
I hope everyone else has had as good of a trip as I have had. Thank you Alex and the forum for all the support along the way!

I made good on my promise (to myself) to double up on my gym sessions yesterday...
Not only that, I backed it up this morning with another session and managed to maintain the time/intensity/caloric burn...
It's not much, but it's a start...
Sometimes it's all about the baby steps...

First off, congrats on the beginning of your journey! You'll do great.
My surgery went well with minimal pain and complications.
I also have an amazing husband who loves me at my worse and best. He has always called me beautiful and showed me his love for me. I know that he enjoys seeing my confidence grow because I have definitely lacked confidence for the last 18 years.
Best of luck!!!
