How fast does the fat come off?
I lose in spurts. I might lose 1 or 2 lbs per week for 3 to 4 weeks, then nothing for 3 weeks, then start losing again. I think the periods when you are not losing is your body catching up to the loss. For me, when I'm not losing pounds, I notice that I am losing inches instead.

Sept 2005 bandsters post here!!
My fill went good. He only gave me an additional 0.2cc, which brings me up to 2.6cc. I was afraid of being too tight, and although I haven't had a full-blown PB yet (knock wood) I have gotten food stuck, and I have gotten the slime once. He told me not to come back anytime soon because my fill level is high for being only 5 months out.

$75,000!!!
I was thinking about this exact same thing. When I looked up my claims earlier to see what the dr & hospital charged my insurance, I looked at my fill too. $600 charged to the insurance co, and they paid a "discounted" rate of $535.58 to dr. I went for a fill this afternoon and a self-pay patient paid $200 for a fill. $200 vs $600. It doesn't add up!

Good News
Great news! You'll be in bandland in no time flat! Good luck to you.

What are the reasons u wouldn't get a fill?
I agree with Vines. My doctor asks how much chicken can I eat, and if I get real hungry between meals before deciding how much of a fill I need. Speaking of which, I'm heading out the door right now to get my 3rd fill.

$75,000!!!
I had surgery done at a hospital. Here's the breakdown from my insurance claim: surgeon's cost $15,200.00 room & board $1,265.00 IH Misc. Services (I have no idea what this is) $28,678.28 IH Misc. Services NOT covered $6.45 (I never received a bill for this so I assume they just ate this small amount) Anesthesia $1,233.00 Total $46,376.28 I paid NOTHING out of pocket for the surgery.

Rabbits and Turtles United New Year Challenge
start: 1/3/06 210 lbs 1/8/06 205 lbs (-5) 1/15/06 205 lbs (0) 1/22/06 203 lbs (-2) 1/29/06 205 lbs (+2) I had a bad week this week... binge eating... 2/5/06 204 lbs (-1) 2/12/06 201 lbs (-3) total: -9 NSV: I started intentionally parking on the 5th floor of the garage at work so that would have to walk further AND take the stairs. I have finally gotten to the point where I can literally jog up those three flights of stairs between the crosswalk and the 5th floor! Oh, and exercise goal met! I kicked it up a notch and started exercising 50 min per day instead of 30 min. I guess that's what has helped contribute to the 3 lb loss this week.

Good work out video!
I had thought about doing Slim in 6 but I'm so out of shape, I didn't think I would be able to get a good workout from it because I'd be too tired first. I'm currently doing TAE-BO, and I'm about to start alternating with Walking off the Pounds. The walk video is low impact and not as much fun as TAE-BO in my opinion, but hey! Anything that gets your body moving, right?
-
so whos working out?
I just started exercising, but now I can 30 minutes on gazelle in the morning, and 30 minutes tae-bo at night. One day I did 15 minutes on gazelle in morning, another 15 minutes at night + 30 minutes tae-bo. I seriously paid for it the following morning. I had a horrible headache, so I think I will stick with one thing at a time. I've also done walk away the pounds. I think I'm going to start back doing that. I worked my way up until I was able to do the two mile walk, so I think I'm going to try and combine the one- and two-mile together. (it's two exercise sessions on one DVD)

Can you drink Sodas?
Doc said no sodas, but I tried it anyway, about 2 months after I was banded. I took one sip and I guess the fizzies went crazy inside my stoma. I haven't even looked at sodas since then. Haven't tried steak... afraid to. I try to avoid sweets & chocolate too. I did have a fun-size Snickers bar one time and it went down fine. Ice cream on occasion (maybe once a month) goes down fine for me too.

Needle-Free Remote Control Fills!
How cool is that! I sent a greeting to Sabine on her thread.
-
Hello from Germany
:welcome: Hello Sabine! I'm glad you found LBT! Adjustments by remote-control huh? Sounds exciting! After you get an adjustment, does you doctor require you to stay on liquids for a day or two, or can you continue eating as normal? And congrats on your weight loss! That's great!

Want to see how long you'll live? Take the Life-Expectancy Quiz!
mine was 72, but I think the numbers are skewed. "04. Grandparent lived to 85-plus? Add 2 for each long-lived grandparent." My grandmother hasn't reached 85 yet... she's not even 80 yet! I wonder if great-grandparents count? Both of my great-grandparents on my maternal grandmother's side lived to 85-plus. Hmmm.... Just the obesity and diabetes (both parents) took off 8 years. And, I need another daughter!

pb/fill advice
Is it around that time of the month for you? For me, and several other ladies that I've seen posted on this forum, we are usually a little tighter during our cycle.
-
Amazed By The Difference!
I'm sure mine was water weight. I lost 15 lbs the first month & 12 lbs the 2nd month (after I had my fill).

new puppy!! we need a name
I'm bad about naming dogs too. We have three puppies, just about to turn 4 months old, and I just got around to naming the last one Ginger.

I KNEW I had heard that story somewhere before!

Sept 2005 bandsters post here!!
I have my next fill scheduled for 2/13. I know I needed to do something. I lost then gained back the same 2 lbs, so now I've been at the same weight since the 2nd week in Jan.

FOR ADULTS ONLY (x rated)
Nope, I feel that way sometimes too. DH and I work different schedules (me: regular 9 to 5, him 4pm to 2am) and he wakes me up for some action when he gets home. Sometimes I just want him to get in and get out so I can go back to sleep, but then... it gets just too damn good I don't want him to stop!

Sept 2005 bandsters post here!!
I know, I need to get back on the ball. I'm afraid to get another fill because I feel pretty restricted already, so I need to do something. I have started exercising, so we'll see how that works out.
