especially around the holidays ... we get all these goodies that get sent in by clients, and our office manager puts a Christmas stocking on everyone's desk with candy inside. It doesn't make it easy when you're on ALL LIQUIDS.

I've had to miss a good bit of work too, but I have sick days and vacation days. My problem (a good problem???) is that I have too many vacation days to use now in this year. I will have to roll some over for next year. I was planning on taking a vacation week and using that for my surgery, but our office manager insisted that those should be sick days! I didn't argue with her ...

Oh Nana, I would have REALLY been upset if I had gone through that! I would have probably had to find a new surgeon, because the one I have would have dumped me for the fussing out I would have given him!!! I'm so glad I didn't get that far. At least they DID call me before I did the bowel prep!

I know I had a bad day Monday. I was all set for my surgery to be Tuesday, the 27th, then the doctor's office called and told me that they had to reschedule me for NEXT tuesday. The night before I had gone through such a turmoil, not being able to sleep, knowing that my life was going to change so dramatically. But, also excited and looking forward to the changes. Then, they call and reschedule me! I've been on two weeks of liquids, and felt very rebellious and went out to eat that night. Made me feel somewhat better (part of the reason I'm overweight now, comfort eating!!!) but also guilty at the same time. I'm back on my liquids now and ready for NEXT tuesday. Just praying that they don't reschedule AGAIN!!! I've come to the conclusion though that nothing ever goes exactly like you want it to, and somehow I've got to learn to deal with these things some other way than turning to food.

I agree that everyone may have some kind of 'issue', but my biggest problem is that when I was a teenager, I was skinny and could eat anything I wanted. We didn't have much money, and meat was always my favorite entre. We would go out and eat steak on friday nights, and ANY leftovers were given to me with my dad encouraging me to eat it all! The problem is, once I got older and had children, my metabolism changed and my eating habits didn't. Also, I AM a comfort eater. I had gotten myself into too many emotional situations. I'm too impulsive for one thing, and react quickly (not always properly) for another thing. (maybe those are the same thing???) All this together has me where I am today!

I am also December 4th. Was SUPPOSED to be today, but my surgeon had to reschedule. I went through this ordeal Sunday night of not being able to sleep, having what I thought was my last diet coke, and worrying about preop bloodwork the next day. Now I'll have to go through the whole ordeal again, THIS Sunday night!

I started mine on November 13 thinking my date would be the 27th. then my date got rescheduled. I went out to eat last night, I guess partly in rebellion. I didnt' think it was right for them to reschedule me and add another week of liquids to my preop diet. so, yes, I cheated.

It's easy for people to sit back and tell you what to do, but if it were actually them and their choices, they would be just as steadfast in something they wanted. This is a wonderful opportunity for each one of us. There are many factors that have led up to us being overweight, but we have a chance now to start over again and make a difference in our health, our appearance, and our self esteem. We are all making positive changes that will only be helpful to us in the longrun.

Yes, but he was unwilling and uncommunicative. It's hard to be with someone who won't even hold you close and say "I love you", regardless of whether you have sex or not.

I too wish he could have gotten over it. But, the last time we had sex was in August of 2005. I have always been a very oversexed person. I have begged and begged him to do something about his problems, but he would not. Now he is paying a high price for it, and so am I.

I think it too is totally band related. Our self worth and self esteem play a major role in our healthy mental health. I can relate to her experiences. I have stayed in a 20 year marriage even though there has been no communication and we have had physical problems on HIS part as to why we don't have sex. He has refused to go to the doctor to get 'help'. His problems are prostate related. I gave him back his wedding ring last year and told him I wanted to go out, and I wanted sex. We have not been able to afford to get a divorce, and it is truly a weird circumstance. Neither one of us can afford to live on our own, so he has been on the couch and I have been in limbo. So, I can relate to the feelings that bandster 1007 is feeling.

I too think that is too many calories. The dietician I had recommended a 1200 calorie diet BEFORE banding. I'm sure that afterwards, it should be extremely less. Of course, that is only an opinion. I agree with some of the former comments, change types of foods and less calories.

It is funny how everybody knows 'what's best for you'. I really don't think the surgery is that invasive or dangerous albeit that any surgery has risks. I had a few friends and co workers who were negative, but my family is VERY supportive.

You can remove me. My surgeon had an emergency and they rescheduled me for December 4th.

I've just been rescheduled for December 5 because of an emergency that the doctor had. I like being a november nymph though. I've been sitting here crying. I had been looking forward to it So badly.
