  1. I am using Top surgeons through West Hills, My doctor is covered in plan but the surgery center is not causing my out of pocket to go up. I called the insurance the lady suggested that I call the surgery center and ask them to accept the 80% as pif. I thought she was nuts... I called the lady handling me through Top Surgeons she gave me the number to call and Wham I talked to the director and sure enough they will take it IN FULL... Woo hoo

  3. What a great story and what great feeling you must have.. Welcome
  4. I actually work for my pcp and he said that he didn't believe in the lap band that I should just try harder to get the weight off.. He said " I see what you eat". I was like ok well there has to be a different way. I called my insurance and lucky for me they said I didn't have to have a referral I went to a meeting and I was approved with in 8 hrs. They asked for a letter from my pcp. I went back to the office and wrote the letter he said "you know how I feel" I said yes but I know how I feel and he signed the letter. Surgery date August 1st
  5. My surgery is August 1st. I am wanting to measure my body so I can follow inches as well as weight. Does anyone know the correct way to do this?
  6. I love the shopping list... I didnt even know where to begin when I get to work I am going to print it.... woo hoo what a relief

  8. how long have you been banded and how much weight have you lost?
  9. I have a real real hard stomach, kind of like the type when your pregnant. I often think (in a kidding way of course) if I just poke it the air will deflate and I will be good to go... Is your stomach a hard or mushy stomach? Is it harder to lose a hard stomach? Finally I wonder if my stomach skin will be gross after the surgery..

  17. My worst reaction came from my sister... She has always been slimmer had the prettier hair and the perfect smile... This is from some one who had boob job and face lift... Her response was "How are you going to fill with that thing in you... " Hello boob job ...LOL... She said that she knows I love to eat and I should stick to weight watchers... I told her I could own weight watchers for all that I paid into it... My sweet mother in law says since my sister has put on weight she is probably worried that I might be slimmer than her one day...LOL I love my mother in law....
  18. We recently moved into a 2 story home... The stairs are killing me.. When I go up to bed its like I ran a freaking marathon... My knees hurt so bad as well... When I told my kids (now adults) that I was having the surgery they said but we like you "fat" they said wait that came out wrong we like you the way you are...Then they agreed that I would most likely feel better losing weight... I don't worry about trying to tie my shoes I by the backless type... Tie them once good for life...LOL...
  19. Well I finally am at peace with my decision. When talking to the young lady she began to address my fears and explain things very calmly and clearly. I guess I just needed reassurance. I left out the office knowing that this is going to be a good thing in the long run but everything good usually takes effort... So come August 1st I will be banded and ready to start my new life... Also I would like a buddy I would like one close by but however I will love email buddies too this will give me the support of someone knowing how I feel... Kinda like AA for bandsters.
  20. Yeah... someone else feels exactly like I do.. I just hung up with my friend and she says that I am nuts that I should be so excited about all this. I said I just want to make sure my head is right.. She said well then you will never have the surgery(lol) I guess I was hoping for the magic pill not the stuff you have to work at
  21. Ok guys... woke up really scared in fact went to sleep the same way... What if I can't do it...all of you are on the pre-surgery diet and I don't have to do one... only the day before surgery... Maybe I am making the wrong decision...
